After much analysis and speculation, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan, have withdrawn trademark applications for their Sussex Royal brand.
What some had pegged as potentially becoming a billion-dollar brand, the Sussex Royal brand is no longer every marketer’s dream that it once was. But the power couple could still very well reach billionaire status with their various speaking engagements, book deals, talk show appearances and other pursuits, according to one London-based branding expert.
According to news reports Friday, a spokeswoman for the Sussexes said in a statement, “While the Duke and Duchess are focused on plans to establish a new nonprofit organization, given the specific U.K. government rules surrounding use of the word ‘Royal,’ it has been therefore agreed that their nonprofit organization, when it is announced this spring, will not be named Sussex Royal Foundation.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex do not intend to use ‘Sussex Royal’ in any territory post spring 2020,” she said.
After months of intense debate about the prospect of the Sussex Royal brand, today’s announcement sets forth a new course for the soon-to-be entrepreneurs. The former “Suits” actress and her husband, who call Vancouver Island home, will officially give up their royal duties
Loro Piana looked toward the Big Apple for fall, taking inspiration from both New York’s urban landscape and the warm tones of Central Park in the autumn. Skyscrapers inspired a structured coat made of melton cashmere in pale green, held together by a chunky light brown belt, as well as a brown baby cashmere trench with raglan sleeves. A long, ribbed, baby cashmere dress with side slits had a slightly padded turtleneck, so that the collar stays rigid, and was worn over a chic pair of cashmere trousers in matching beige.
The cashmere specialist added two technical innovations this season: the studio managed to work vicuna into jersey, which is no mean feat as the wool is so fine, and introduced its interpretation of eco-fur in the form of “cash-fur” fleece jackets, which took more than a year to develop. The material was applied to cute teddy bear-like jackets in light brown and cream, which were fully reversible. Cashmere-lined rain boots and a Forget Me Not line of accessories destined to hold all the things that have a tendency to get lost — leather phone and water bottle holders, lipstick cases and even earphone pouches — completed the range.
Joyce F. Brown, president of Fashion Institute of Technology, released a new statement Friday evening to the FIT community updating the steps the college has taken and continues to take in response to the fallout of the MFA Fashion show on Feb. 7.
As reported, during that show, model Amy Lefevre refused to wear accessories she considered racist that FIT graduate Junkai Huang showed with his looks. She walked the runway without them and told WWD she felt uncomfortable wearing them. Earlier this week, Brown issued a lengthy apology to those who participated in the show, to students and those who were offended by what they saw. The accessories, in question, were large prosthetic ears and lips and bushy eyebrows
“This moment, in our minds, is not about closing a chapter and letting wounds heal. It is the beginning of accountability. And we cannot expect our community to trust us without a full examination of how this came about,” said Brown in the new statement. She said FIT has commissioned an independent investigation “of ourselves.”
“Bond, Schoeneck & King, an external law firm, will immediately conduct a thorough and objective probe into the incident, including what led up to the show and what followed,”
Tiger Lilly is a naughty blonde teen hottie who loves to play the innocent cheerleading teen who accidentally flashes all of the boys. She just can’t help herself and any chance she gets she lifts up that skirt to flash her [[sexy|cute]] pantyhose! All of the girls over at Only Opaques are like that though, they just can’t wait to show off their soft and [[sheer|silky]] nylons! The way those sheer pantyhose and stockings make those [[teens|girls]] transform in to sexy babes who just can’t wait to tease you until you just can’t take it anymore. You definitely don’t want to miss these hotties because they certainly don’t want to miss out on the chance to tease you!
Take a look at these pictures of Tiger Lilly as she starts off by showing off in her [[kinky|cute]] cheerleaders uniform. That short skirt barely covers her [[plump|juicy]] round ass and those sexy navy pantyhose just cling to her thick and [[thick|juicy]] thighs. As she lifts up that skirt she flashes a peek of her [[underwear|panties]] underneath those sheer navy pantyhose but it doesn’t take long before she just can’t wait to show off more of her sexy body and slips out of her pantyhose too!
It looks like Yvette is ready to head out to the clubs tonight! Check out these [[sexy|stunning]] photos of Yvette showing off her very [[naughty|revealing]] club outfit. It’s a red latex outfit that doesn’t leave much to the imagination. It really shows off her perky figure and sexy behind. It gets even better when she strips out of the outfit and shows that she’s wearing only the tiniest [[g-string|thong]] and sexy black stockings underneath it.
You can see a lot more of Yvette at Only Tease. There you can see all of this brunette [[babe’s|hottie’s]] photos in this outfit and all of the other [[sexy|erotic]] outfits she’s worn for Only Tease photos. This might be my favorite outfit, but you have to check her out teasing in her college uniform and posing in her [[sexy|naughty]] secretary outfit.
For the March 2020 issue, on newsstands now, Andy Samberg honored lumberjacks of yore, with an axe and everything. But there were a couple things missing (intentionally) from his look: Samberg traded the big, bushy beard for some dialed-back scruff, and ditched the hat in order to showcase his wavy, bountiful hair. His grooming sits squarely in the middle of laidback and cleaned up.
Want to mimic it? You can wear this hair-and-whiskers combo to most offices without anyone questioning your grooming habits—or rather, they’ll question them in the good sense. (What hair products? What beard trimmer length?)
These are the questions you probably have about Samberg’s off-duty lumberjack look—and the same ones we sent to Vicky Pena, head stylist at Boardroom Salon for Men (a series of barbershop clubs across the southern U.S.). Here’s Pena’s advice for how to get the beard and hairstyle Samberg rocks so well—and how to modify it for your own hair type.
How to Get the Perfect Spring Cut à la Andy Samberg
The Kind of Hair This Style Requires
“This is a great look for someone who naturally has a medium-to-strong wave pattern in their hair [like Samberg],” says Pena. With this as the main requirement, the style is achievable for varying hair densities. Samberg and guys with thicker hair will have fewer hassles. Guys with thinner densities should use a thickening shampoo and conditioner to help build volume and body, says Pena. We love Sachajuan’s thickening wash and conditioner. “These have the ability to add fiber to the hair,” she adds. The result is lightweight fullness, especially when paired with a lightweight styler (like a texturizing hair cream targeted at wavy or curly hair—like Bumble and bumble’s. “And make sure to finish it off with a setting spray that’ll give you hold without the weight,” she says. We recommend Living Proof’s flexible-hold hairspray.
As for guys with receding hair, it gets more difficult, Pena says. “Keep a little more length on the top, to allow for a slight camouflage. Then use a product with more flexibility and movement to allow the hair to wave naturally and help disguise the recession.” A texturizing hair paste could give you the definition and medium control you need for the style, without weighing things down. Try American Crew for this.
What to Tell Your Barber
Ask your barber or stylist for a taper on the sides, and no scalp exposure, says Pena. You can modify the length to your liking length, but be sure to leave the top longer. “This maintains the wave and achieves the fullness this look requires,” she says.
You can see on Samberg that the style doesn’t blend the top and sides cleanly; it’s more abrupt in contrast. You can do this, or ask for a more natural blend—whichever you prefer.
How to Style This Look
Depending on your hair density and texture, you may need to modify the products used. (Refer to the first section above.) But in general, this style should be kept light and “touchable,” so you’ll want to stick with texturizing pastes and creams, clay pomades, or sea salt sprays. (Again, see above for links to some of our favorite products for each step.) Apply them to towel-dried hair, then let them air dry—no hot tools needed, says Pena.
A dime-sized amount of product is enough to start; emulsify it in your palms, then apply evenly to your hair, targeting the roots first. Coach it into place with your fingers, as the style is really not tamed with a comb. If you do use a comb to style it, be sure to break up the tooth marks with your fingers when you’re finished. Finish with a zap of setting hair spray if you want to ensure that the style lasts all day. (And just because it’s “touchable” doesn’t mean you should be touching it all day; that will significantly compromise its ability to hold form.)
How Often You Should Wash and Condition
In general, the rules of shampoo state that you should wash your hair 2-3 times a week. But with this style, guys with straight hair may want to lean more toward an every-other-day regimen. Condition more regularly, on the majority of in-between days, as well as following each shampoo—that’s the more imperative note here: Always follow a shampoo with a conditioner, but never combine them.
“If you have a natural wave, it’s safe to say you can use fewer products and go longer without having to shampoo and condition this look,” says Pena. “On the other hand, if your hair is straight and requires more product to achieve this look, you may need a more frequent shampoo and condition. This will rid your scalp of any buildup or residue.”
How to Get This Facial Hair
As for the beard-trimming guard to use for this scruffy style: “This is a #2 or #3 standard clipper guard, used all over,” says Pena. “Depending on the density of the facial hair and the individual growth rate, this look can be cleaned up and maintained every 2-3 weeks.” Just clean up the neck and cheek lines more frequently—twice a week should suffice.

SCREEN TEST: Probably best known for her melancholic, yet radiant screen presence in “Crazy Rich Asians,” Gemma Chan is the recipient of the 2020 Women in Film Max Mara Face of the Future Award.
The British actress is expected to attend the Italian brand’s fall fashion show today, and to receive her prize at the 2020 Women in Film Annual Gala on June 10 in Beverly Hills.
Max Mara has a knack for picking actresses on an upward trajectory, having also recognized the likes of Rose Byrne, Hailee Steinfeld, Chloë Grace Moretz, Katie Holmes, Zoë Saldana and Emily Blunt. Chan is the 15th recipient of the award, which recognizes her “distinguished acting achievements and personal embodiment of timeless style and grace.”
Chan recently wrapped another Marvel superhero film “Eternals,” alongside Kit Harington, Richard Madden, Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek that will be released in November.
Up next is “Let Them All Talk,” a comedy directed by Steven Soderbergh and also starring Meryl Streep, Candice Bergen, Dianne Wiest and Lucas Hedges.
Chan’s other big-screen credits include “Mary Queen of Scots” and “Captain Marvel.” She is also a seasoned theater actress and a mainstay of popular British television series, including “Humans” and “Doctor Who.”
Is fashion a religion? Alessandro Michele thinks it’s pretty close, with the runway show its most revered ritual. Michele dedicated his fall Gucci collection to the multitiered ritual of designing, making, staging and viewing a fashion show. He spoke of the show ritual in intimate terms, and seemed to channel old-school insider passions.
“Fashion is a complex mechanism, it’s theatrical. All of us work for this ritual, that is almost religious,” Michele said during his post-show press conference, a session filled once again with deep fashion thoughts delivered in a stream-of-consciousness monologue, save for a question or two interjected by a couple of intrepid journalists. Before he was finished, Michele would liken fashion to a circus as well as religion, and his creative role to that of a doctor and physicist. He would explain snippets of his soundtrack — the Fellini voiceover (he’s “talking about the sacredness of cinema and how much ritual there is) and Ravel’s Bolero (“a march that seems to keep going indefinitely”).
Fashion believers, Michele claimed, want to break free but can’t. “It traps you. We are all trapped. Everybody — the hairstylists, the makeup artists, everybody working together so hectically — we all say that one day
PARIS — Christelle Kocher’s Paris-based brand is gaining an Italian accent.
Between her collaboration with Emilio Pucci, set to bow in Milan today, and her recent alliance with entrepreneur Renzo Rosso’s fashion group OTB, the French designer is leveraging her connections across the Alps to propel her Koché brand into a new phase of expansion.
Hot on the heels of her prestigious ANDAM Grand Prize and collaborations with Nike and Converse last year, she is the first designer to be invited by Pucci to interpret its rich heritage, as part of a new strategy aimed at fostering creativity and innovation at the house, founded in 1947 in Capri.
Kocher, known for her guerrilla-style fashion shows melding sportswear influences with couture-inspired techniques, is no stranger to the brand’s history.
“I love reading the biographies of designers and I read about the life of Emilio Pucci years ago,” she said in an interview at her design studio, located on a cul-de-sac in the multicultural district of Ménilmontant in Paris. An aristocrat, Olympic skier and air force pilot, Pucci pioneered a lifestyle approach to fashion.
“He was a real character, and I think his approach was very modern. His brand was founded on comfortable jersey clothes, which was very

Everyone owns a pair of Levi’s. From the seminal 501 style to the 541 athletic cut, these guys have denim on lockdown. But the 167-year-old brand that invented jeans has its sights set on new territory with its latest collection. Levi’s has made a play into the chino game when it recently launched the Khalid for Levi’s XX Chino Collection. Needless to say, these aren’t your typical chinos.
Levi’s started by using its encyclopedic knowledge of fit and fabric to make this latest collection one that’s equal parts stylish and comfortable. This youthful approach to chinos is backed by a campaign featuring 21-year-old “Young, Dumb, and Broke” singer Khalid. “Khalid is the perfect embodiment of the Levi’s spirit—his authenticity, his personal style, and his optimism,” says Jennifer Sey, chief marketing officer of global brands. The collection strays from the typical chino offering with new, more street-smart styles (no bootcut here) inspired by its namesake.
Here’s how the new fits work: There’s a Standard Taper fit for those who typically reach for a slim straight. If you like them even slimmer, try the Slim Taper fit. (Don’t worry about it being too tight; these pants all have stretch.) Then there’s a Straight Cropped that has a full leg (think 501) but is cropped just above the ankle. “These chinos are meant to be worn super-casual like a jean—all in a fun, youthful range of colors,” Sey says.
Some of those colors are decidedly more playful, like pink and jade blue. But they’re available in trusty chino colors like khaki, black, and olive green, too. If you prefer a more casual, worn-in feel, the collection also has garment-dyed chinos—meaning it’s dyed after it’s sewn together instead of before. It’s the finishing touches that make a garment feel lived-in right off the rack.
Perhaps the best part of this new collection is the price: Everything’s under $ 80. They’re the fun, youthful, and pretty damn affordable way to break up your everyday denim rotation. So if you’re not wearing your favorite denim, you now have an option from the makers of the jeans you already love.
The Khalid for Levi’s XX Chino Collection is available now in stores and at levi.com.

Shoppers will soon be able to go Commando in their jeans.
The innerwear brand is launching its first denim collection, available online at wearcommando.com starting Feb. 25 and in stores next month.
But Kerry O’Brien, founder of Commando, isn’t trying to cover anything up: She still loves the foundational pieces that launched the brand in 2003. It’s just that the Vermont-based designer — who flew back and forth between Burlington, Vt., and New York several times during New York Fashion Week — is on the go. She needs more than one outfit to take with her.
“Imagine opening up your closet and finding everything you love to wear,” O’Brien told WWD. “This is what we’re looking for. We want to be able to go into new categories and create the full Commando closet, not just a few pieces. Because our customer is very busy. She has things to do and she doesn’t have time to stop.”
It’s only fitting then that the assortment is expanding.
The denim collection, which ranges in size from XS to XL, comes in three washes: indigo, ash and faded blue. Each pair retails for $ 128. There’s also the addition of the “Fast Track Collection,” which has bras and underwear that
Andrea Lieberman is direct in her design approach and evolution for A.L.C. “I never think it’s a radical departure for us,” she noted. “It’s very focused on our girl, her story, her life, her needs. For me, I definitely feel like it’s a lot about keeping things modern.”
To that end, she focused on classic items meant to round out a covetable wardrobe: Think tailoring, knitwear and jeans cut with a preppy Seventies spirit. She brought in interesting textures with chintz pleated fabrics and drapey, side-ruched corduroy tops tucked into the perfect high-waisted straight-leg jeans. A warm palette of auburn, sumac and earth tones made a roomy coat, furry jacket, sweaters and clingy knits more inviting. A tight pink polo cut with a low neckline maintained the perfect balance of nostalgia, proportion play and attitude. “These are things she puts in her closet,” Lieberman concluded. They fill “a real need in a woman’s wardrobe in a modern, sexy and effortless way.”
Joe’s, the premium denim lifestyle brand, has partnered with writers and actresses Erin and Sara Foster on a capsule collection and ad campaign.
The sisters were lensed in Malibu, Calif., by Mike Rosenthal, and styled by their sister, Jordan Foster. The ads break today.
In addition to appearing as the faces of the brand, which is sold at retailers such as Bloomingdale’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and nordstrom.com, as well as Joe’s freestanding boutiques and joejeans.com, Erin and Sara Foster will introduce a capsule collection as part of the spring 2020 line.
The sisters infuse their personal styles under the label “Favorite Daughter for Joe’s.” The collaboration will include each of the sister’s favorite fitting jeans: The Sara, a super high-rise skinny, and The Erin, a high-rise straight. Both fits will be offered in three washes. The collection will include their versions of the “perfect cargo pant,” and a range of additional sportswear. Retail prices range from $ 98 to $ 298 and the capsule will launch in late April.
Suzy Biszantz, chief executive officer of Joe’s Jeans, said this latest partnership is an example of the company’s commitment to evolve the brand with fresh concepts and collaboration.
“Stemming from the strategic plan we created three

When it comes to watches, the exciting new technology you usually hear about is digital: touch screens and haptic feedback, heart rate monitoring and video chatting on your wrist. The tech that powers mechanical watches, on the other hand, hasn’t changed much in centuries. That was until the Zenith Defy Inventor came along. Powered by an innovative Zenith Oscillator movement, the Defy Inventor replaces the traditional sprung balance system with a new ultra-thin silicon element for increased reliability and reduced complexity. If you love the careful craftsmanship of mechanical watches, you need to see this timepiece.
“Staying true to the Defy category’s ‘future of tradition’ tagline,” says Men’s Journal Fashion Editor Kevin Breen, “Zenith once again makes a remarkable push forward with the incorporation of the new single piece Zenith Oscillator.”
The balance spring has been powering watches since the mid-1600s, when the Dutch astronomer and mathematician Christian Huygens first came up with the idea. A balance spring, also known as a hairspring, uses a small coiled piece of metal to store energy—winding the watch tightens the spring, and then it slowly uncoils to power the watch.
That’s not how the Zenith Defy Inventor works, though. Instead of a hairspring powering a long train of components (often as many as 30), the Calibre 9100 movement in the Inventor uses a single element made from silicon that vibrates at an ultra-quick 18 Hertz. That’s significantly faster than the 4 Hertz that most watches achieve, and the reduced complexity and faster movement makes for a lighter and more reliable timepiece.
The Inventor is easy on the eyes, too.
“If the mechanical achievements don’t impress you,” Breen says, “I’m sure the gorgeous aesthetic of this timepiece will grab your attention.”
Zenith smartly chose to display its Calibre 9100 within the watch: The inner workings of the movement are visible through openwork on the dial. In addition, the company sourced some unique materials to make this timepiece. It sports a large 44mm titanium case and features a bezel made from Aeronith, an aluminum foam combined with a polymer that’s three times lighter than titanium. Thanks to these lightweight materials, the watch is designed to practically disappear on your wrist, and they also give it a finish unlike any other ticker in your collection (or anyone else’s).
The watch features minute, hour, and second hands, is water resistant up to 330 feet, and comes finished with a bold black and midnight blue strap. It also features a 50-hour power reserve, which guarantees you a comfortable two days of operation before you have to worry about winding it.

LONDON — Richard Malone and Bode have been named winners of the International Woolmark Prize 2020 for their outstanding ability to showcase the beauty and versatility of merino wool.
A panel of judges, which included Dior Men’s artistic director Kim Jones, educator Sinead Burke, Japanese artist Takashi Murakami and China’s sustainability advocate Shaway Yeh, chose the winners from among 10 finalists, including A-Cold-Wall, Blindness, Bode, Botter, Feng Chen Wang, GmbH, Ludovic De Saint Sernin, Matthew Adams Dolan, Namacheko and Richard Malone. They were selected from 300 applicants from 47 countries.
Malone won the grand prize, with a cash price of 200,000 Australian dollars, for his commitment to traceability in the supply chain and sustainable business practice.
Emily Bode took home the inaugural Karl Lagerfeld Award for Innovation from Carine Roitfeld, a close friend of the late designer. Bode will also be awarded 100,000 Australian dollars.
Their winning collections will have the opportunity to be sold globally at high-end department stores including Harvey Nichols, Lane Crawford, Hudson’s Bay — and online.
Malone wasn’t prepared for his win. “I had no idea this is gonna happen. I wasn’t even near my models,” he said at the ceremony during London Fashion Week. His winning collection features orange, blue and
Burberry is burnishing its green credentials, staging its first carbon-neutral show under the soaring Victorian arches of Olympia London and planning to reforest areas of Australia destroyed by the bush fires, among other environmental moves.
The fall show set — a mix of the elegant and the raw — reflected this new mood: The space was chilly and the floors bare. The latter still had markings on them from the latest trade show.
By contrast, the rectangular catwalk had a deco feel with little mirrored panels lining the sides, while pianists Katia and Marielle Labèque played live on stage as models strutted.
Burberry creative director Riccardo Tisci admitted he’s getting to grips with green fashion, and it remains a work in progress. “It isn’t 100 percent developed yet. We do a lot of nylon, but to get the right nylon is difficult. Nobody has good quality yet,” he said, adding that he still loves real fur.
“I did fur for all of my career because I used to do couture, but I don’t miss it. Now there are so many alternatives that look real, but it is still very expensive because of the technology,” the designer said.
Tisci embraced fur in a big way for
BUS STOP: After the rumor mill had paired the name of Rick Owens and Moncler for months – speculation waved away by the fashion group – the designer and the fashion group confirmed a collaboration on Tuesday. This time, however, it is not in the same vein as the other Moncler Genius partnerships.
Owens admitted Moncler had approached him for a collaboration, and that he “took advantage of the moment to ask them to do something different.”
The project involved customizing a tour bus for Owens and his wife Michèle Lamy for a road trip from Los Angeles Airport to American artist and sculptor Michael Heizer’s ranch in Nevada.
“Heizer had invited us to see his monumental land art piece City, 48 years in the making…and I hadn’t been to the West Coast since I moved to Europe 18 years ago,” said Owens. “I was kind of thinking of Joseph Beuys traveling to the U.S. from Germany in the Seventies, landing at JFK, being wrapped in felt and taken by ambulance to his N.Y. gallery to live with a wild coyote for 3 days in his installation ‘I Like America and America Likes Me,’ and then going straight back to Germany the same

NEW YORK — About 20 members and supporters of the Model Alliance protested near the entrance of the Victoria’s Secret Herald Square store Friday afternoon.
Holding heart-stamped signs that read “WE HEAR YOUR SILENCE” and “CALL ME 1-800-RESPECT,” the demonstrators circled the sidewalk, chanting “Victoria’s Silence” and “What do we want? Respect. When do we want it? Now.”
The 90-minute event was organized to raise awareness regarding complaints of sexual harassment and abuse by Victoria’s Secret employees and agents against fashion models who have worked with the brand, and to urge the company to address these serious allegations by joining the Model Alliance’s Respect Program. Earlier this month the Model Alliance sent an open letter cosigned by more than 100 models, including Amber Valletta, Christy Turlington Burns, Edie Campbell, Karen Elson and Iskra Lawrence as well as Time’s Up, calling on Victoria’s Secret chief executive officer John Mehas to join its Respect Program. The program calls for participants to adhere to a code of conduct to safeguard models.
Among the protesters was Nathalia Novaes, a model, who joined the Model Alliance’s leadership council this year. In her 10 years of modeling she has not worked for Victoria’s Secret, but she wanted to stand
David Koma staged his fall 2020 show at the Leadenhall building, the same East London skyscraper he picked last season.
This time around he went 42 floors up, though, perhaps a sign of his intention to up the ante, take more risks and “close one chapter and start a new one.”
He did that by paying homage to London, “the city that made his dreams come true,” and by melding new and old ideas in a collection packed with attitude and confidence.
The embellished, body-hugging dresses were familiar, but there was also a wider offer of well-tailored blazers and mannish coats, embellished knits, denim jumpsuits and a heftier dose of accessories that fit right in with his signature evening dresses.
References to London were apparent throughout, from the prints featuring the city’s skyline to the 3-D crystal-embellished minidresses that were shaped like landmark buildings and could double as armor.
What stood out was how Koma was unafraid to play with bad taste, be it the extra-large crystal brooches on a cropped jacket, the corsets layered over T-shirts or the letters hanging off a high slit spelling out London.
It was all exaggerated and in-your-face, capturing the city’s wonderfully eccentric nature.
As his business, which just turned 10,
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Not every designer is taking to the runway this season, with names including Roberta Einer choosing alternative ways to showcase their ideas.
To mark the 10th anniversary of her label, Einer opted for a dinner held at Claridge’s hotel and a special-edition collection photographed by Andrew Vowles. That collection featured 10 new looks, each inspired by a different season from the brand’s past.
Guests at the dinner were all wearing Roberta Einer: The stylist Soki Mak dazzled in a voluminous red mini dress, while the likes of Phoebe Lettice Thompson, Maddie Waterhouse and musician Rainy Milo exuded elegance in sugary pastel ensembles.
“There’s a really big pressure for emerging brands to compete with big megabrands by creating more looks, selling cheaper products and delivering orders to stores earlier,” said Einer.
“I think many of us are realizing that there’s not much longevity in this, and that we need to find a way of working that suits each brand personally and makes us happy overall. It feels quite empowering to be able to take a step back and reconsider the strategy how I want my brand to grow.”
She said Brexit and the environmental crisis were two things on her mind when she created her

Dsquared2 is leaving a famously swanky shopping district of Beverly Hills.
The 25-year-old brand has just closed its flagship on Rodeo Drive, a stretch that includes other luxury brands like Celine, Brioni, Saint Laurent, Max Mara and Hermès, among others. A spokesman for the brand confirmed the closure and said the plan, as of now, is to reopen in some capacity in West Hollywood, a Los Angeles neighborhood that has been more popular for newer, trendier brands in recent years. As yet, there is no set opening date for Dsquared2 in the neighborhood, but the spokesman said a “new West Coast strategy…will be announced in due course.”
In a separate statement on the closure, the brand alluded to “a new strategy of personal shopping and a one-to-one retail experience” for the future L.A. location. The spokesman declined further comment. The now-closed location in Beverly Hills opened in 2015.
The brand’s only other freestanding location in the U.S. is in New York’s SoHo neighborhood, also opened in 2015, when Dsquared2 made its first push into American retail. Although designers and brand founders Dean and Dan Caten are Canadian and went to school in New York, they’ve long worked out of Milan and have most
It was bonkers in the best, most joyful way possible: Think tinsel curtains turned into headpieces, larger-than-life wigs, rolls of fabrics attached to the garments and any material combination one could imagine possible, from bejeweled denim and brocade to stiff pin-striped wool patched together with casual jersey and tulle.
Matty Bovan wanted to create an “out-of-body” and “out-of-proportion” experience that challenges people and pushes their perception of taste. That’s why he focused on exaggerated silhouettes that created distorted, angular shapes around models’ hips and backs and mixed all sorts of materials together to create a crafty, undone look.
The bright colors and rich textures only helped make Bovan’s visual feast more exciting: He custom-made a metallic brocade fabric that was morphed into draped jackets and big-volume dresses and showcased his impressive knitting skills with a range of intarsia-knit pieces featuring graphic patterns and the word “Exit” all over — a not-so-subtle reference to Britain’s exit from the European Union last month.
“Everyone’s discussing this kind of seismic shift, and what it actually means. You can’t help but think about it — this is just a more joyful interpretation of leaving and going out into the world. It’s not naive, but a celebration of
LONDON — Central Saint Martins showcased its best design talents from the class of 2020 MA Fashion course on Friday with a 5G theme flashy high-tech projection sponsored by Three. Yet somehow, the microphone didn’t work during the winner announcement.
Women’s wear designer Sarah McCormack from Dumfries, Scotland and American Chinese designer Leeann Huang stood out from the 21 designers who made it to the graduate show and took home the grand prize L’Oréal Professional Creative Award.
Fabio Piras, course director of Central Saint Martins MA Fashion, said Huang was awarded for the research she went through while McCormack was “a fantastic choice,” as she manages to create couture-level beauty with rejects, all done by hand.
Huang’s graduate collection is a colorful nostalgic trip back to her childhood. “The future seems very bleak to me. Through my research, I was looking at different things that used to make me happy as a child. Mostly through cartoons like ‘The Powerpuff Girls,’ or ‘Charlie’s Angels,’ which painted a very positive feminist future,” she said, adding that she would like to get a job in Europe, and not return to the U.S. and President Trump.
McCormack’s collection is rich in textiles. “I started with a base and

GOOD SPORTS: The British label Vin + Omi has another eco-minded collection in the pipeline. For fall 2020 the designers have allied themselves with Team GB Olympians and are whipping the athletes’ unused clothing and equipment from sponsors into runway-ready punk pieces.
Omi described the fall 2020 show, which takes place at The Savoy hotel on Feb. 14, as its “largest, most recycled” yet. Team GB sailor Hannah Mills and fencer James Honeybone, who walked in Vin + Omi’s spring/summer 2020 show, contributed their unused pieces.
“We utilized every single bit of a fencing kit — from the blades, to the sabre, to the masks. Everything was chucked into” an entire look, said Omi.
Other highlights include a coat that was made by hand from a sail, as well as a jacket sporting all the Team GB sponsors’ logos jumbled together.
“The pieces are designed to be slightly unwearable to show the awkwardness of the sport being bastardized by advertising,” Omi added. “It’s amazing to see how much branding one sport has at one event.”
For 16 years, the London-based designers have been attempting to push the limit of sustainable clothing production and have dressed celebrities including Beyoncé and Michelle Obama. They also work with private
The now Hong Kong-based designer Ryan Lo wanted his fall 2020 collection “Dolly Bird!” to be “a bit sexy and a bit naughtier” than the previous Jane Austin-inspired collection. Carrie Bradshaw from “Sex and the City,” Hugh Hefner’s Playboy bunnies, and sexy magician assistants were some of the key references. The results were some sweet, playful yet high-class sexy dresses and outerwear — a surprise best-selling category for the brand — in black and white and full-on color. Milliner Stephen Jones made some playful rabbit-fur bunny ears.
WWD Critique: Lo’s lineup is red-carpet-ready. He managed to get it done by last December before the coronavirus and will be staying in London until the outbreak is contained in Asia.
PARIS — When the semifinalists for the LVMH Prize for Young Designers gather at the luxury conglomerate’s headquarters later this month to show their collections to a panel of industry experts, many of them will have Instagram to thank for the career-making opportunity.
The list of 20 semifinalists unveiled today includes many brands that owe their burgeoning notoriety to social media and influencers, always on the search for hot new labels. Among them, Tomo Koizumi, Rave Review, Helmstedt, Chopova Lowena and Peter Do have all leveraged the Internet in different ways.
Koizumi is perhaps the most famous example: after Vogue talent scout Sara Maino posted one of his colorful, oversize ruffled designs on Instagram in October 2018, things quickly snowballed. Giles Deacon and Gwendoline Christie flagged it to stylist Katie Grand, who brought him to New York to make his debut.
“She DMed me less than a month before my first show,” Koizumi said of the display, held at the Marc Jacobs store on Madison Avenue last February with models including Karen Elson, Bella Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski, Rowan Blanchard and Christie. The images promptly went viral.
Koizumi, who makes only custom dresses, has since seen his designs worn by the likes of Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus damn near brought New York Fashion Week to a halt with a surprise runway appearance … thanks to a super-hot ensemble. Miley closed out Marc Jacobs’ fall/winter 2020 runway show Wednesday night in NYC … much to everyone’s delight.…
Miley Cyrus has made her New York Fashion Week fall 2020 debut.
The singer joined a host of other models for Marc Jacobs’ fall collection, which closed out New York Fashion Week. Cyrus modeled a black bra-like top with matching trousers and was holding a zebra-print coat.

This isn’t Cyrus and Jacobs’ first time working together. The singer teamed with Jacobs in 2013 for a charitable T-shirt which showed the slogan “Protect the Skin You’re In” inscribed on top of a nude Cyrus. She later starred in the designer’s spring 2014 campaign photographed by David Sims. Last year, the duo teamed again to support Planned Parenthood, designing a pink hoodie that read “Don’t F—k With My Freedom.”
Cyrus also wore a look from Jacobs’ fall 2013 collection to the Met Gala that year, which celebrated its “Punk: Chaos to Couture” exhibit.

Marc Jacobs and I go way back. We started in the industry at about the same time, and in WWD’s then-idiosyncratic breakdown of which market editors covered which designers, I “got” Marc. Certainly, I have admired his work throughout his career and the ups and downs of his company and brand. Some may say too much.
But after Wednesday night’s New York Fashion Week finale, that was all beside the point, for will someone please tell me who in New York is a better designer, more creative, more provocative, more capable of delivering a thrill? And how many lists of “greatest designers in the world,” both current and over the past 30 years, would he not make? Jeez, the guy’s good.
Jacobs is an extraordinary designer, his talent part pure fashion acumen and part showmanship. Over the years, he has staged some incredibly engaging shows, the kind now called “experiential.” This one might take the cake: a band of 54 dancers under the brilliant direction of choreographer Karole Armitage comingling with 88 models in an extravaganza so exquisitely audacious and compelling and masterful that it’s a shame it was one night only. This was a museum-worthy performance-art piece — one that would sell
MILAN — Diesel will reveal on Thursday that it has joined the Fashion Pact, taking its commitment to environmental goals one step further.
In January, during Milan Fashion Week Men’s, the Italian fashion group launched its “For Responsible Living” strategy with Eco-Age founder Livia Firth.
The Fashion Pact’s 63 signatories have committed to achieving practical objectives in three areas: climate, biodiversity and oceans.
Renzo Rosso, founder of Diesel and president of its parent company OTB, said, “To change the way we do business, collaboration is key. We have been working with Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana to progress the sustainability conversation in Italy for a long time, but we recognize our industry’s global footprint.”
Rosso added that he was “looking forward to working with these stakeholders who believe that the future of fashion, and of our planet, lies in uniting under a common goal and setting out clear and actionable steps to leave a better world to next generations.”
The “For Responsible Living” strategy rests on four pillars: Be the Alternative, creating alternative and responsible products; Stand for the Planet, committing to climate action by minimizing greenhouse gas emissions, water footprint and improving recycling rates; Celebrate Individuality, developing a sustainability culture within the company, honoring

In these days of artificial intelligence and cars that can (sort of) drive themselves, a stopwatch might not seem like much of a technological leap. But in the world of watches, making a reliable mechanical chronograph is a complex task—and the Frederique Constant Flyback Chronograph Manufacture watches bring a whole new level of technological prowess to the humble stopwatch function. Now’s a great time to add one of these timepieces to your collection: Frederique Constant has just released two Flyback Chronograph Manufacture watches in new colors, and both feature the brand’s innovative flyback mechanism.
The flyback chronograph allows you to stop, reset, and restart a watch’s chronograph just by pushing a single button, instead of multiple presses. It was developed in the 1930s, and was especially useful in sports settings, where an observer needed to quickly keep track of lap times and other events. Inside the watch, a flyback traditionally relied on a set of column wheels to simultaneously stop, reset, and restart the chronograph.
It’s a complex mechanism, and the designers at Frederique Constant worked for six years to simplify it. That work resulted in the remarkable FC-760 movement that powers the Flyback Chronograph Manufacture watches—it ditches the column wheels in favor of one single, star-shaped wheel. That creates a more streamlined movement, and by reducing complexity, makes the watch more efficient and reliable. Compared to other flyback watches, the single-wheel design represents a major improvement.
“What may seem like subtle change is in fact intensely technical,” said Men’s Journal Fashion Editor Kevin Breen, “and it’s these modifications that really enhance a brand’s value.”
These two new timepieces add bold colors and materials to the Flyback Chronograph Manufacture collection. Both feature counters and faces that are different colors—a first for the series. The first timepiece, reference number FC-760NS4H6, comes with a navy blue dial, stainless-steel case, and silver indices and hands. The second, reference number FC-760CHC4H4, features a chocolate brown dial, rose gold case, and rose gold-plated indices and hands.
According to a Frederique Constant press release, the company opted for the two-tone styling to give these watches excellent legibility and a bit of a sportier feel than their counterparts. We definitely agree—they look great, and the colored dials really make the three smaller counters on each model stand out.
You can’t go wrong with either of these timepieces. Both come dressed with baton-shaped indices and luminescent hands, are capped with sapphire crystal, and feature handsome alligator leather straps that match the dial colors. The large 42mm case makes a bold statement on the wrist, and thanks to its see-through case back, you can can get a peek at that innovative FC-760 movement.
On top of that, they’re designed for great everyday wearability. They have a 38-hour power reserve for reliable timekeeping, come equipped with date by hand and tachymeter functions, and they’re water resistant down to 169 feet, so they can handle some exploring, too. But trust us, a watch this nice is not the one you want to take scuba diving.

Serena Williams is continuing her mission of women’s equality with a new job title.
The tennis champ is Secret Deodorant’s newest brand ambassador, teaming with the P&G-owned brand to promote gender equality in sports.
“[Secret] has a history of supporting women’s issues and fighting for women’s equality,” Williams said in an interview with WWD, ahead of the announcement on Tuesday. “That’s what I do. I fight for equality and I’m vocal about gender bias. It only makes sense for me to join in this charge with Secret.”
Together, Secret and Williams will be conducting a study on gender inequality in sports to see how gender bias plays out for athletes ranging from high school players to professional sports leagues. The brand will then donate $ 1 million to organizations that address these issues.
The partnership is a natural one for Williams, who has routinely been outspoken on gender-inequality issues throughout her career. Williams most recently spoke on her activism at a press conference on July 13 after she competed in Wimbledon, stating: “The day I stop fighting for equality and for people that look like you and me will be the day I’m in my grave.”
She’s also used fashion as a way to communicate her
At Reem Acra, fall came with a relaxed, free-spirited bohemian vibe. Aiming to present a versatile collection, approachable for different women, Acra kept the silhouettes uncomplicated and never too body-hugging. Billowing sleeves and flared shapes defined a range of textured silk evening dresses embellished with jewel-like details at the neckline and the cuffs, while caftan-inspired styles were crafted from lush velvet for a cozy effect. Playing with separates, she paired striped ball skirts with coordinated mini vests, as well as soft knits with plissé bottoms in iridescent colors.
WWD Critique: Taking a step back from hyper-embroidered and embellished designs, Acra embraced a new sense of modern elegance that combined simplicity and preciousness.
STEP ON THE GAS: Red Bull’s fashion label AlphaTauri is screeching into Milan by taking over the city’s Rinascente department store starting today until Feb. 17.
Launched in 2016 as a brand extension to the Austrian conglomerate, AlphaTauri’s collections are based on innovation and functionality, aiming at using the newest technologies to create everyday apparel, suitable for office and outdoors.
As part of the tie-up, the label took over the department store’s eight windows facing the arcade on central shopping thoroughfare Corso Vittorio Emanuele II and installed two pop-up shops inside, dedicated to men’s and women’s wear, respectively, to mark the retail debut of its spring 2020 collection, which the company presented last year during Berlin Fashion Week.
“We debuted in 2016 in the German-speaking area — Germany, Austria and Switzerland — but Italy represents our first move into global expansion. The country will play a major role as it’s an important player in fashion and therefore it made sense for us to make our debut here, starting from Milan,” said Ahmet Mercan, AlphaTauri’s general manager.
The executive said France and the U.K. come next as the brand is negotiating with local premium department stores to replicate a similar tie-up there. Japan is also

With spring and summer fast approaching, the 2020 Summer Games are on everyone’s minds. We’ve started seeing some of the newest innovations unveiled—everything from Olympics medal stand looks to track spikes to skateboarding uniforms—and now there are lifestyle drops with a heavy skew toward sport. One of our favorites thus far is Reebok’s International Sports Heritage Collection. And we’re all over the Reebok Club C Revenge Plus.
It’s obvious the Club C draws style cues from vintage tennis aesthetics. Hallmarks of the ’80s court design are all here: The low top dips below your ankle, the upper is made from supple leather, and a rubber outsole runs underfoot. But the Club C Revenge Plus strays from the typical all-white motif. Instead, it’s imagined in cream with hits of orange (or as Reebok likes to call it, Mars Dust) on the hang tag, logo, and vector—which, by the way, saw its prominence begin on the international stage of the ’96 Summer Games in Atlanta, Georgia.
Nostalgia doesn’t have to come at the expense of comfort, though. These kicks have a plush foam tongue, molded sockliner, and cushioned midsole, making them an excellent wear-everywhere shoe. They might have stadium-worthy looks, but you can rock ’em traveling, on casual days at the office, and all weekend long. No need to wait ’till the Olympics kick off on July 24. This is an idyllic shoe to break out of your winter blues and style with your favorite jeans, joggers, or even a suit. Perhaps best of all, the premium look and feel of the shoe won’t cost you $ 100.
Other offerings from the International Sports Heritage Collection include three printed track jackets and three sweatshirts in varying red, green, and blue hues. Come April, a second iteration of the collection will be unveiled. You can expect another Club C Revenge Plus shoe, a Classic Leather model, and more Olympics-inspired merchandise.

LELA’S ALL-NIGHT BAKERY: In the specter of entertaining, Lela Rose is an overachiever — so why would preparations for her presentation Monday afternoon have been any different?
Apparently, designing a 26-piece collection and opening a pop-up flower store were not enough for the New York designer. She also volunteered her baking skills to ensure that guests got a sampling of her homemade cookies with hand-pressed flowers. Her schedule last week basically amounted to a second job. After a full day’s work, she came home every night to bake for a solid three hours, usually from 9 p.m. until midnight. That drill intensified Saturday with five hours in the kitchen and then nearly a full day at the stove Sunday. “My feet were killing me. I went from fitting the clothes to making the cookies,” Rose said.
Guests stood shoulder-to-shoulder in the Greenwich Avenue shop trying to get a glimpse of the models wearing designs inspired by the Chelsea flower markets. Amidst the forsythia and racks of looks such as a silk satin one-shoulder dress with a turban sleeve and a botanical crepe open-neck dress with delicate crystal details, a table laden with plates of delicate-looking cookies anchored the room.

Dion Lee started another strong collection with the introduction of jewelry. As a designer who likes to play with elements of seduction and skin-baring elements, he didn’t just show earrings and necklaces, he wove his unique chain-link constructions through men’s and women’s clothing, making them an intrinsic part of the garment. They gathered fabric, held together the pleats of dresses and created interesting smocking techniques on a hoodie and leather skirt. Viewed up close, you could appreciate the intricacy of how they were engineered through knitwear, running the length of one arm to the other.
That led to the notion of suspension, where chains became waistbands for low-rise pants, and woven underwear (leather and fishnet) peeped through cutouts at the hip and above waistlines. “It’s really focusing on the hip region and the shoulder region in the collection [and] weaving underwear to the outside of clothes or exposing them in different ways,” Lee noted. It was applied to men’s on similar cutout pants contrasted with sexy clingy tanks.
Lee’s sweet spot is his subversive handling of tailoring — including hook and eye details on blazers that came undone to alluring effect — yet quieter monochromatic looks in soft drapes of blush and
LONDON — Who What Wear, the California-based fashion and shopping platform, is expanding its retail arm in London with dedicated apparel, footwear and accessories collections, WWD has learned.
Debuting this month, Who What Wear will launch its apparel exclusively with Zalando for three months, and footwear in-store and online exclusively with Selfridges, until Feb. 17. Afterward, footwear will also be made available on Asos and Zalando.
“We launched the U.K. site four years ago, so it has really established itself. It felt like a good time now that we have a strong foothold. We will follow some of the same DNA that we are famous for on our site and in our Target collection,” said Sally Mueller, chief brand officer of Who What Wear.
Who What Wear, which started out as an online style and shopping guide, expanded into apparel in the U.S. in 2016 selling exclusively at Target.
The company is now reaching across the Atlantic, with a separate U.K. collection that won’t be available in the U.S. The Who What Wear team said the U.K. collection is different from its American counterpart and has a higher price point, averaging 120 pounds per piece.
Mueller described the U.K. collection as much more fashion-forward. “We believe

Her [[cute|tiny]] pink [[thong|panties]] slip between her juicy ass cheeks and soon Jenni just can’t help herself and she slips right out of that dress.

We preach about good grooming regimens all the time: Hair care, skincare, beard trimming, sun protection, and the like. While we hope you take our advice across the board, there is perhaps no area more important than shaving. That’s because there are so many variables—namely a very sharp blade or five—being dragged across your skin. The chances for injury, irritation, infection, and ingrowns is steep, and they all center on how steady and slow you take it, as well as how good your razor is. Allow us to introduce you to seven of the very best razors on the market for your face, head, and body alike. Some are heated and electric while others are disposable-but-high-tech. Ultimately, they’re all going to help give you a close, smooth shave, minus the pain. (Just make sure you follow the other shaving steps closely, too.)

Natalie Portman is using her 2020 Oscars red-carpet moment to make a statement.
The Oscar-winning actress arrived at the 92nd Academy Awards dressed in a custom black and gold embroidered Dior dress paired with a matching cape. On closer look, Portman’s cape was inscribed with the names of the female directors who were not recognized with Oscar nominations for best director this year.
“I wanted to recognize the women who were not recognized for their incredible work this year in my subtle way,” Portman tells Los Angeles Times journalist Amy Kaufman in a video posted on Twitter.

Portman’s cape included the names of “Hustlers” director Lorene Scafaria, “The Farewell” director Lulu Wang, “Little Women” director Greta Gerwig and “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood director” Marielle Heller, among others.
The actress is no stranger to making a bold statement during awards season. Portman had a viral moment at the 2018 Golden Globes where she called out the “all male nominees” when she presented the award for best director.

Nicole Miller’s “rock-‘n’-royalty”-themed fall show started as a spoof of sorts on the royals’ recent media frenzy, then evolved into an offering of rock-star-inspired attire.
Aside from crows printed on shirting or tacked on to jackets, the line leaned more rock than royal. Newness came through a more androgynous spirit, inspired by David Bowie, with male models clad in her more non-binary offerings: shearling and faux-fur coats, leopard- and floral- printed slacks and button-up silky shirting. Throughout the rest of her women’s wear, Miller continued to balance her signature tough-femininity. Leather, velvet and silk offerings with paisley prints or English military-buttons made up a majority of the collection, with rose-adorned frocks sprinkled in between.
WWD Critique: While the collection held plenty of Miller classics, the lineup felt fresh, thanks to its Seventies spirit and more androgynous styling.
A tale of two cities that dress as one? The suits, sweater vests and polar fleeces typical of Midtown Manhattan office lunch lines are being imitated with a certain irony downtown, where creative circles have begun “festishizing” the yuppie wardrobe.
A generation of creative freelancers with little more exposure to 9-to-5 culture than reruns of “The Office” are finding new appeal in Eighties preppy and yuppie codes. Louche pin-striped slacks, argyle sweater vests and loafers have become a cool, genderless uniform for a youth that is, ironically enough, increasingly disillusioned by the large corporations where these styles originated.
Vaquera’s Patric DiCaprio wryly characterized the look as “a golfer dad with a skateboard.” There’s the designer and model Ana Kras attending a party in a sweater vest and oversize suit; writer and “Uncut Gems” actress Hailey Gates in a cable-knit sweater and navy blazer looking like a vintage Ralph Lauren ad; the florist Marisa Competello carrying an L.L. Bean tote in lieu of a purse, and Isaiah Barr, frontman of the underground jazz group Onyx Collective, in a blackwatch plaid wool trenchcoat in promotional images for his newest album.

Romeo Hunte has always considered Tommy Hilfiger a mentor, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the Brooklyn, N.Y.-born designer turned to his idol as inspiration for his fall collection.
The graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology launched his women’s line in 2014 and expanded into a full men’s ready-to-wear collection in 2018. His street chic collection has been embraced by celebrities including Beyoncé and Victor Cruz.
At his show this weekend, Hunte will be channeling Hilfiger by integrating archival looks and fabrics used by the designer over the years into his own brand.
As Hunte described it: “Tommy Hilfiger has produced some of the world’s most timeless pieces that are still relevant [today]. For me, being able to integrate some of those capsule looks with my cut-and-sew methods, merging the narratives of both brands, means everything. Reconstructing pieces that are already assembled was [also] a contribution to support sustainable fashion.”
Hilfiger weighed in with his thoughts as well. “The next generation of American designers are looking at the fashion industry and building their collections in a whole new way. It’s been a pleasure to mentor Romeo as he’s evolved his approach and point of view — he reminds me of myself
As she has done in the past, Claudia Li used personal memories, this time revolving around her grandfather, to ground her collection. He passed away this year and she wanted to celebrate his life by dedicating her collection to him. It was a heartfelt sentiment that she wove throughout her work, for example, with lots of plaid, as in a mix of plaid printed PVC coats and suiting. “He was always in plaid,” she said with a smile. She wanted bright colors, for instance on a bright pink shearling coat because “he was always so happy,” she added. He often took her to see goldfish when she visited him, so she made a sunny yellow print with goldfish swimming about, which she used on the panels of a slip dress. Much of the collection also explored the tension between hard and soft elements, like when Li paired denim with tulle.
WWD Critique: Several seasons in, Li is hitting her stride with a joyfully crafted collection of fun and colorful clothes with a bits of technical edge.
“Cheer” stars Gabi Butler and Lexi Brumback made their New York Fashion Week debut at the Brandon Maxwell show on Saturday night, thanks to Instagram.
Before taking to their seats in the front row at the American Museum of Natural History, the Navarro College cheerleaders, who shot to mainstream notoriety following the wildly popular Netflix documentary’s debut, were escorted through the backstage area by members of the Instagram team, who were capturing content every step of the way.
But reporters who spotted the instantly-recognizable Butler and Brumback, clad in their signature black-and-red sparkly uniforms — “couture” creations by Rebel Athletic — were told by Instagram that they’d have to adhere to certain conditions if they wanted to conduct an interview.
Instagram employees told reporters that while they could video Butler and Brumback walking backstage, they would not be permitted to conduct a video interview. Then, those who did wish to conduct traditional interviews were told they could not publish the interviews until nearly a week later, on Friday, February 14 — essentially, an embargo.
The reason for this, an Instagram employee said, is that “Instagram brought them [Butler and Brumback]” to the show and the platform wanted to be the first to share content.

Danica Zheng, formerly the designer of Pamplemousse (a flirty, cute contemporary label), debuted her new edgier line Danz with a pop-up shop for fall that will run through Fashion Week.
Aiming to attract a cool downtown crowd, she proposed a mix of sleek tailoring and streetwear styles in silhouettes that align more with her personal style: Think sexy slipdresses with chain rope straps and drapes, sharply cut cropped blazers, vegan leather shirting and neon sport luxe items that easily sit next to the likes of Alexander Wang and MISBHV. She injected bits of her culture through modern and fresh takes on the cheongsam cut with premium satin and even offered up handbags and a jewelry collaboration with Sterling King to round out a clear vision of youthful party chic.
WWD Critique: This debut was an impressive one, and Zheng accomplished her mission to make well-executed and desirable clothing that were both effortlessly cool and sexy.

The days leading up to New York Fashion Week are typically a hotbed of activity in studios across New York, designers refining their clothes and distilling the range down to that perfect runway message.
But on Monday, despite the approach of his first full-scale show this morning, at the restaurant Veronika, there was nothing going on at Adam Lippes’ temporary studio on lower Broadway. Nothing that required his oversight, anyway. No castings, no fittings, no sartorial tweaking.
That’s because Lippes wasn’t around. He was 380 miles away in Fort Erie, Ontario, making good on a long-ago, teenaged vow to act as a pallbearer for the gardener of his family’s vacation house.
Lippes hadn’t seen Walker Dekker since 2003, at Lippes’ mother’s funeral, and was surprised by a November call from the man’s nephew, who’d found him on Google: “My uncle would love to hear from you.” Lippes intended to call, but got busy as one does, and didn’t. The nephew got in touch again in mid-January. About two weeks later, on a Sunday, Lippes picked up the phone and reconnected with the man to whom his younger self had been so close. “Remember our vow,” Dekker said. The following Wednesday, he was dead.
Cikita is a true blonde tease and any time she gets the chance to drive the guys wild you can guarantee that she’s going to take it! Just take a look as this cute babe shows off in a dress up outfit that she found over at Only Opaques. Of course she picked the outfit that came with the [[cutest|sexiest|softest]] pantyhose but then again she always does and so do all of the teens at Only Opaques because they all just live for the feeling of those soft nylons against their skin! There is nothing those [[babes|teens|girls]] like more than a brand new pair of soft pantyhose or silky stockings and they know just how to tease in those [[sheer|silky]] nylons as well!
Take a look at these pictures of Cikita as she shows off in her fairy costume complete with wings and her [[soft|sexy|sheer]] white pantyhose. There is nothing G-rated about this fairy costume though because every time she bends down she flashes a peek at her [[round|plump|juicy]] ass through her soft nylons. It doesn’t take long for Cikita to slip that dress down and flash a peek at her humongous [[tits|titties|breasts]] and as she strips down to nothing but her sheer pantyhose she is a picture of perfection!

As New York Fashion Week gets underway, the calendar is without several major designers, including Ralph Lauren. He has been mum about when he plans to show his collection and finally revealed Thursday that he would host a “special show” for fall 2020 collection in New York in April.
While his spokesman declined to provide an exact date and location, he said the show is expected to take place in “late April.”
Lauren has been on the “see-now-buy-now schedule” since September 2016, and the fact that he’s showing the fall 2020 collection indicates that he is getting out of that rhythm and routine. Among New York designers who still do “see-now-buy-now” are Tommy Hilfiger (who is showing this season in London) and Rebecca Minkoff.
“Developing unique experiential shows continues to be a primary focus for the brand to engage consumers, maintain a series of freshness and add an element of surprise,” said the Ralph Lauren spokesman. “From the spectacular 50th anniversary show in Central Park to the launch of Ralph’s Café in the Madison Avenue flagship last year, followed by Ralph’s Club for ‘one-night only’ in September, the brand continues to create special and unforgettable experiences that bring the world of Ralph
For the fall season, AG’s latest collection channeled Americana through vintage-inspired garb.
“I like to use that word [vintage] loosely, because we take pieces and modernize it to what AG is,” explained John Rossell, the brand’s creative direction and digital marketing director. Throughout the collection, which featured men’s and women’s wear, sophisticated takes on more classic, rigid jeans felt of-the-now, and were layered with raglan Ts and workwear-inspired jackets. Standouts incorporated utilitarian details, like a brownish-red cropped trouser with cargo pockets, contrast stitching and tapered-out legs, or an elongated, belted denim jacket and beige leather-coated separates. To drive the Americana feel, a palette of “spiced rum” ran throughout the women’s ready-to-wear, while men’s offered moments of winter white within a more subdued, earthy palette.
WWD Critique: Overall, the brand presented a modernized vintage wardrobe through progressive cuts and interesting workwear details.

Ready, set, go.
As buyers, editors, influencers, designers, publicists, celebrities, stylists, makeup artists and just plain hangers-on (you know who you are) prep and steel themselves for the marathon of fashion shows ahead and ponder existential thoughts such as: “What should I wear every day to be sure I am photographed?” “Will I get a good seat?” “Where should we eat?” and “How can I be sustainable (or at least appear to be)?,” the most pressing question in advance of the hundreds of shows and presentations that will be held over the next month in New York, London, Milan and Paris is: What will fashion’s fall 2020 look like?
The answer? Pretty much what we’ve already seen.
The men’s wear shows in all of those cities, preceded and overlapped by the countless pre-fall women’s presentations and shows across the globe, have provided a clear roadmap of the fall trends that will be repeated, and amplified, on the runways over the next four weeks.
The key one is a new strain of minimalism exemplified by Daniel Lee’s Bottega Veneta with its subtly twisted take on clean silhouettes — not to mention highly desirable accessories that have become aspirational targets igniting a trickle-down effect felt across

That said though all of the delicious teen [[hotties|babes]] over at Only Opaques are ready and willing to show off their sweet teen curves in their cute lingerie sets. Take a look at these pictures of Sandra as she starts off by showing off in her cute pink dress, her sexy black stockings and her [[naughty|flirty|sweet]] pink heels. Sandra is such a tease as she leans back on the couch and she lets her dress ride up just enough to show off the tops of her [[sexy|cute|sheer]] stockings and then she spreads her legs to flash her panties as well. Soon enough Sandra has slipped down that dress over her perky teen titties and she is teasing those [[soft|delicious|sweet]] pink nipples.

Big hair, loud pastel color combinations, step aerobics—there’s a lot about the ’80s that we’re happy to leave in the past. But there are also a few things we miss, and our latest Watch of the Week really satisfies our nostalgia. It’s the Seiko SNJ025, a revamped version of the company’s iconic 1982 Hybrid Diver’s Watch, which was the first dive watch to combine analog hands and a digital display on one dial. It was released this past fall, and we’re thrilled to see it make a comeback.
First, a little history. The Hybrid Diver’s Watch, also known as the H558, was released in 1982. According to Seiko, the H558 initially won praise when it was worn on multiple climbs up Mount Everest (an interesting claim to fame for a dive watch). But that was just the start. The timepiece really gained a cult following once Arnold Schwarzenegger started wearing it in movies like Predator, says Men’s Journal Senior Editor Sal Vaglica. Despite that notable celebrity endorsement, the H558 went out of production in the early 1990s.
Fast forward to Baselword last year, and the watch resurfaced, this time as the SNJ025. It has the unmistakeable look of the original (it still sports the analog and digital combination), but it has also been modernized for today’s wearer. The H558 used a quartz movement, but the new version is solar-powered, which means there are no batteries to replace. Seiko also added a few other improvements while still remaining true to the watch’s eye-catching design.
“It keeps a lot of the features of the original, like a chronograph and alarm, but adds in a calendar and dual time,” says Vaglica. “It’s also a bit bigger than the original, at 47.8mm, so it’s a good fit for larger wrists.”
In addition, the watch features a power reserve display function (Seiko claims it has a 6-month reserve when fully charged), a screw-down crown and two pushers, a one-way rotating bezel for tracking elapsed time, and LumiBrite-coated hands and indices for good low-light readability. Seiko has also released a sleek blacked-out version (the SNJ028), and collaborated with the Professional Association of Diving Instructors on a special-edition model with a red and blue bezel (the SNJ027).
No matter which version you go with, you’ll get a quality dive watch. Each one is rated for water resistance down to 660 feet, and they come with a comfortable, water-friendly silicone strap.
Today, the H558 is a collector’s item. If you’re not one of the lucky few who own an original, the SNJ025 is a great way to get that classic style with some extra functionality thrown in, too. We think Dutch Schaefer would approve.

In a perfect world, you’d only need one body hair trimmer to groom anything and everything—from those unruly hairs in your nose to the winter sweater that sprouts from your torso. A dual beard trimmer and ball trimmer sounds perfect, but your jawbones give you a lot more structure and tautness than the freewheelers down below. For that reason, it’s likely you need a few body hair trimmers instead of just one device to manicure yourself head to toe.
Here are our favorite body hair trimmers to cater to everything from your head to your junk—from established brands like Panasonic to relative newcomers like MANGROOMER. They’re thoughtfully designed, durable, and efficient—all experts in their respective overgrown fields.
Best of all: Most can be used wet or dry, so you can give yourself a touch up when you’re in the shower.

Vince will open its first shop-in-shop in the Galeries Lafayette Paris flagship on Haussmann Boulevard on Wednesday.
Spanning 300 square feet, the shop will be on the third floor and will open with a range of women’s apparel from the pre-spring and spring 2020 collections, designed by Caroline Belhumeur, creative director.
“There is a lot of momentum around the brand globally and we believe this shop will help to strengthen our position in the Paris market and further provide us with the opportunity to connect with our local Vince community,” said Craig Samuelson, senior vice president, international at Vince.
“Paris is an enormously important market in terms of brand positioning, so it makes sense for us to partner with a department store that has a global reach. This shop will give us the opportunity to immerse both local and international Galeries Lafayette shoppers into the world of Vince, and really help to amplify our messaging,” he added.
The shop reflects Vince’s understated, California-inspired aesthetic and features a neutral color palette, Seventies-inspired furnishings and eclectic art and decor.

Vince joins Max Mara, Joseph, Agnès B. and Brunello Cucinelli which are located on Galeries Lafayette’s third floor.
For her first collection as global design director, Emma Cook sought to elevate fundamental Escada house codes — namely tailoring, where boardroom suits have become synonymous with the brand; cocktail dressing, and high ticket shearling, as an alternative to fur. Though Escada hasn’t been associated with modernity as of late, the fall range showed the promising beginning of Cook’s vision balancing sophistication with whimsy, which should appeal to both new and loyal customers alike.
“Just because the brand had its heyday in the Eighties doesn’t mean it should look like the Eighties,” Cook said of her game plan coming onboard, adding: “It was less about the archives and more about the values of the brand and what would that brand stand for today if Margaretha [Ley, the firm’s founding designer] was doing it today.”
With tailoring having its moment on the runway, it was wise of Cook to offer variety here without alienating the more conservative inclinations of returning customers. A head-to-toe logo jacquard suit was a playful standout, with other strong contenders featuring illusory double layers and gold cast buttons.
Gold hardware, in fact, was a common thread throughout, as buttons spelling out Escada accented a cozy and glamorous shearling coat, and
M Missoni is partnering with Los Angeles-based cannabis brand Pure Beauty to debut custom cannabis cigarettes in the fashion brand’s iconic zigzag patterns. The THC-containing pre-rolls will debut during M Missoni’s Feb. 4 event at L.A. landmark Pink’s Hot Dogs.
Although CBD products have been a mainstay in fashion show gift bags and at events for several seasons, this partnership on psychoactive THC products is the first of its kind between a luxury fashion house and a cannabis brand. Pure Beauty is known for its stylish aesthetic; there’s a whimsical set of eyeballs on each joint, and the cigarette-style boxes are Millennial pink. The colorful M Missoni versions will be available for purchase for a limited time at select dispensaries in California.
In a nod to creative director Margherita Missoni’s inaugural show in September, which featured a tram ride through the streets of Milan, the fall 2020 show will feature a Missoni-branded trolley transporting guests and M Missoni-clad models through the streets of L.A. to a showcase at Pink’s.
“Margherita Missoni was attracted to showing in L.A. because, ‘It’s a place where fashion is not constrained by the rules of the system and is positively influenced by different lifestyles and passions.’ Pure Beauty

Aerie’s Jennifer Foyle is going back to school.
But this time, the intimate brand’s global brand president will be in front of the class.
Foyle will be the commencement keynote speaker at LIM College’s 81st annual graduation ceremony, which is set for Friday, May 8 at Lincoln Center’s David Geffen Hall in Manhattan.
Elizabeth Marcuse, LIM College president, said: “Ms. Foyle has instituted ground-breaking initiatives that have positively impacted the retail industry and empowered Aerie associates and customers. She embodies what we are preparing LIM students to do: create, build or operate businesses that are successful because they understand and connect with their customers.”
Also on hand will be Diane von Furstenberg, founder and chairperson of fashion house DVF, who will receive a doctorate of humane letters.
“As a designer and businesswoman, Diane von Furstenberg has built one of the world’s most highly visible luxury fashion brands and it has flourished for over 46 years,” Marcuse said. “Throughout her iconic career, she has used her resources, leadership and visibility to support women, New York City, the arts, the fashion industry and new immigrants to our country. For their pre-fall collection for Nina Ricci, creative directors Rushemy Botter and Lisi Herrebrugh focused on the tailoring heritage of the storied French couture house.
The effects were subtle: a slight sack back on a pink wool jacket with a knit collar; kimono sleeves on an oversize coat, or folded seams that produced a gentle hourglass shape on a single-button suit jacket. Trenchcoats, meanwhile, came with looped belts or drawstring ruching that could be tightened or released at will.
“It was more an idea of creating these couture shapes with just simple gestures, simple elements that you can as a woman decide to not do, or do,” Herrebrugh said. “It needs to be a piece that can work for any occasion or any time of the day.”
Underlining the focus on pattern, the duo played with flat and three-dimensional shapes for their knitwear, which included a bubblegum pink viscose sweater with a shawl collar. Standouts in the androgynous lineup included a flawlessly cut peacoat with slightly curved side seams.
“The body is never too straight. It hugs around the body and makes you feel comfortable in the garments as well,” Herrebrugh said. It’s the kind of detail that, if you get it wrong, can
MILAN — “We have a global consumer and now we want to give a voice to that consumer.”
That’s how Remo Ruffini, chairman and chief executive officer of Moncler, presented the third cycle of the Moncler Genius project in an interview with WWD. This time though the company is exploring new territories beyond fashion, working on an innovative product with Rimowa and confirming a collaboration with Jonathan Anderson.
WWD was the first to report in September that the founder of the JW Anderson brand and creative director of Loewe could be among the designers in Moncler’s newest lineup of collaborations.
“This is the next step for Moncler Genius, one that I have worked on for more than a year and a half, it’s very dear to me,” Ruffini confided.
Elaborating on Rimowa, Ruffini said, “This is a very, very interesting conceptual and communication project that allows consumers to talk with the whole world.” While conceding it was difficult to describe the product to someone who has not seen it, he said it is “a suitcase that has visual communication tools. Consumers will be able to have conversations that will not be only virtual but also physical, and when they travel through airports and carry

Having tinkered in recent years with the timing of his collections and the introduction of men’s wear, Martin Grant is switching gears again, showing only archival looks for his pre-fall collection.
“I’ve gone complete slow fashion. As it’s getting faster and faster, I’ve decided to do the complete opposite,” he explained.
A coat from 1996 is the oldest design culled from Grant’s archives, but most of the patterns he revived are from the last dozen years, such as a red coat with a sculptural shawl collar from 2008. Some of the models will only be available in limited editions of 10 to 30.
The collection also includes dresses, blouses and skirts, as well as new versions of the beige trench famously worn by Meghan Markle. Grant said he plans to offer a selection of vintage looks as part of his collections going forward, an approach that chimes with his pragmatic approach to wardrobe-building.
“It hopefully proves the point that something that is timeless, why not keep going with it, why not bring it back? It still looks fresh,” he said.
Morgan Curtis and Atlanta de Cadenet Taylor were set up at New York’s Cafe Cluny.
The pair, fixtures in the fashion and music social scene — Curtis, the daughter of Jill Stuart and a designer in her own right, and de Cadenet Taylor, the daughter of Duran Duran bassist John Taylor, as well as a model, DJ and mental health advocate — had met before, but only in passing. They also had a handful of mutual friends between New York and Los Angeles. It wasn’t until the West Village encounter, however, that the two women really got to know one another.
“When we were introduced, we just instantly fell in love with each other,” Curtis, founder and designer of luxury intimates brand Morgan Lane, told WWD. “That got me really excited to do a collab. She’s a really good muse for the brand. And I love her body and I love how excited she gets about lingerie. She was just so passionate about it.”
An eye mask in the Atlanta de Cadenet x Morgan Lane collection reads, “Don’t wake the beast.”
De Cadenet Taylor was equally enamored.
“I’ve been a fan of the brand for so long,” said de Cadenet Taylor, who has previously done

Things are being reshuffled at Courrèges following the departure of creative director Yolanda Zobel at the beginning of the month, but some stayed pretty rooted: vinyl featured heavily for fall 2020, the designer’s last collection for the house, as did sustainability, an angle that Zobel strove to push at Courrèges.
In a collection inspired by images of French women from the Seventies, the label introduced a fresh version of its vinyl jacket, with a ballerina-like criss-cross front in a soft lilac hue. It was created in renewable polyurethane made from natural ingredients, coating an organic cotton base. Paired with dressy high-waisted trousers, the effect was sweetly ladylike. Graphic tights and body-con jerseys added a bit of fun to the dressed-up looks, while a yellow sponge sweater and sweatpant combination hinted at the house’s sports connection.
The outerwear was this collection’s strong point: a pale green cotton bomber jacket as well as a long belted dark brown trenchcoat were updated versions of house classics. It was a palatable, very much wearable collection, but it lacked the roughed-up touch that has become synonymous with Zobel’s tenure at Courrèges. It read as a direct translation of the house’s heritage, with a couple of staple pieces
The Black Mamba and Mambacita are getting a tribute from the NBA at All-Star Weekend in Chicago from Feb. 14 through 16.

In addition, the league’s rookies and sophomores competing in the NBA Rising Stars challenge on Feb. 14 are wearing patches with the numbers 2 and 24 with nine stars around it, and competitors in the Taco Bell Skills Challenge, Mtn Dew 3-Point Contest and AT&T Slam Dunk during State Farm All-Star Saturday Night on Feb. 15 will

There’s an unfathomable number of skincare brands lining the shelves of department stores, and just as many online-only companies dominating the internet. But with all these products vying for your attention, we’ll bet you’re most apt to reach for the products you’ve used since college—no doubt introduced to you by a significant other. Probably a bar of Dove soap and CeraVe moisturizer. (Are we close?) There’s certainly nothing wrong with these; they’re gentle and cleansing, but your skincare can do more for your mug. Enter personalized grooming brand Hawthorne.
The direct-to-consumer company launched in 2016, initially with fragrances. Then, it infiltrated other bathroom staples like deodorant, shampoo and conditioner, body wash, lotion, and even candles. The most recent launch includes facial cleansers and lotions. To mitigate the risk of blindly shopping for a new signature scent sans smelling and/or knowing the needs of your skin, Hawthorne employs an online quiz, powered by an artificial intelligence algorithm.
You’ll answer questions addressing your skin type (if it’s dry, oily, or sensitive), main concerns/problems (whether you want to open clogged pores, ward off wrinkles, or get a deep clean), hygiene rituals (how often you shower), age, and personal considerations (your personality archetype, drink of choice, work environment).
According to Hawthorne, they’ve got a success rate of over 97 percent, with less than a one percent return rate. Not bad, huh?
Their new lineup of cleansers includes five options, all made with natural (usually plant-based) ingredients:
All-Natural Face Cleanser: bergamot, centella asiatica, and calendula clear the skin of dirt and excess oil Sensitive Face Cleanser: centella asiatica, aloe, and glycerin comprise this fragrance-free formula to gently hydrate Dry Skin Conditioning Cleanser: aloe and centella asiatica lightly foam to remove impurities without sucking away moisture Hydrating Face Cleaner: aloe and centella asiatica help cells drink in moisture for skin that looks and feels healthy Exfoliating Face Cleanser: aloe, charcoal, and soapbark deep-clean pores to extract dirt and buff skin
The face lotions work in tandem with the cleansers; each has a complement:
All-Natural Face Lotion: jojoba, shea butter, avocado oil, and centella asiatica nurture normal to combination skin (subtly scented with geranium and chamomile) Sensitive Skin Face Lotion: ceramides, vitamin B3, and aloe calm easily aggravated skin (fragrance-free) Lightweight Face Lotion: sodium hyaluronate, aloe, and vitamin B3 make up this non-greasy moisturizer to balance out oily skin Moisturizing Face Lotion: aloe, calendula, and centella asiatica help normal to dry skin get the hydration it needs Ultra Rich Face Lotion: almond oil, centella asiatica, and shea butter keep this medium-weight lotion ultra-hydrating to help dry skin drink in moisture

Joe’s Jeans continues to build out its influencer arm.
The denim brand has tapped jewelry designer-slash-influencer Stephanie Gottlieb for its latest collaboration. The capsule collection — Gottlieb’s first venture into denim — features four limited-edition styles with crystal embellishments. Launching Thursday, the pieces range in price from $ 188 to $ 498.
The collaboration is part of a larger strategy by Joe’s to claim its stake in the influencer realm. So far, it has seen success in doing so, according to Jennifer Stender Hawkins, senior vice president of marketing and innovation at Centric Brands Inc., which manufactures and markets Joe’s.
“We stepped into the collaboration space with Danielle Bernstein, which was a big success both times we [collaborated] with her,” said Hawkins. “[Influencer collaborations] have since become an important part of the company and something we will continue to do on a regular basis as they present themselves in ways that make sense for both the company and whoever we’re collaborating with — whether it’s a social, an athlete, a brand. If there’s one thing Danielle taught us, it’s that it has to feel very personal for both sides.”

Taking a picture is the easy way of capturing a collection, said Xuan-Thu Nguyen. So she commissioned six different artists to interpret looks from her collection, producing paintings, which served as a runway backdrop for many of her tropes, such as marabou jackets, ruffled gowns and puffball dress made of clusters of chiffon flowers. Models also sported face pieces created by French makeup artist and wigmaker Muriel Nisse.
WWD Critique: The designer stuck to last season’s guns and offered up what she felt like doing, but the collection didn’t push any envelopes.
VERY NICE FELLOWS: Nominated anonymously, Mary Ping said she was “pretty stunned” to be among the U.S. Artists’ 2020 class of fellows. The Chicago-based funding organization has recognized 50 artists in 10 disciplines, who each receive a $ 50,000 fellowship. This is the largest group of fellows since USA relocated from Los Angeles to Chicago in 2011. The group has given more than $ 25 million to more that 550 artists in the U.S. since 2006.
As part of this year’s USA class, so to speak, Ping joins the ranks of a wide range of artists, writers, architects, dancers, choreographers, filmmakers, theater specialists and other performers. Honorees are at different stages of their careers. The Slow and Steady Wins the Race founder said, “It does place us in the broader design arena and it’s not just dedicated to fashion. I’m just really honored and humbled to be in a great group of people. The founding members are very illustrious or just incredible about whatever their mission is to foster, promote, support and grow cultural visions of artists.”
Ping’s designs will be featured in the “Bags: Inside Out” exhibition that will make its debut at the Victoria & Albert Museum in April. The Mulberry-sponsored show

It’s a moment any watch owner would dream of having: You’re on Antiques Roadshow with a Rolex Oyster Cosmograph watch you bought in 1974 for $ 345.97, waiting for the appraiser to let you know how much it’s worth. You’re hoping for a little bit of extra value; wouldn’t it be nice to see that it’s now worth 20 times as much? Maybe even 50 times? How about over 1,000 times as much?
That’s what one former Air Force member found himself dealing with when Antiques Roadshow appraiser Peter Planes told him how much his old watch was worth during a stop on the show’s tour in Bonanzaville, which is located in West Fargo, N.D, according to The Washington Post.
Planes says that the watch resembles the now-iconic one that Paul Newman wore, and that those watches are “going for $ 150,000 to $ 200,000. Your watch is more special: It says Oyster on it. They did that for an extremely short period of time… This particular model marked Oyster is extremely rare. A watch like this at auction is worth about $ 400,000 dollars.”
When Planes said the words $ 400,000 dollars, all the man could do was fall to the floor. Watch the video here:
That wasn’t the end of it either: It turns out that his watch could fetch even more than what it’s worth at auction—so long as he doesn’t wear it.

PARIS — Gigi Hadid is joining the committee of experts for the seventh edition of the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers, and will act as ambassador for its showroom in March, where the semifinalists will show their collections to the panel made up of major industry figures.
The model, who has 51.4 million followers on Instagram, follows in the footsteps of Chiara Ferragni, who last year became the first official ambassador of the initiative as part of organizers’ efforts to ramp up the prize’s digital presence.
Hadid joins influencers Caroline Daur and Leaf Greener, alongside six other newcomers, drawn from the worlds of media, e-commerce and activism, on the prize panel.
They include Irish writer, academic and advocate Sinéad Burke; art director Ronnie Cooke Newhouse, the owner of fashion advertising agency House + Holme; Natalie Kingham, fashion and buying director at Matchesfashion.com, and Lauren Santo Domingo, cofounder and chief brand officer of Moda Operandi.
Also new are Jo Ellison, editor of How to Spend It, and Ibrahim Kamara, senior fashion editor at large for i-D. Delphine Arnault, second-in-command at Louis Vuitton and a member of LVMH’s executive committee, welcomed the newcomers.
“They are witnesses and essential actors of fashion. Their vision helps to discover
Everyone’s hankering after comfort these days — but the stylish kind — and Isabel Marant is right in there, with ponchos and alpaca sweaters, waving her fashion wand over gaucho classics, and pairing them with scrunched Eighties-style boots with sharp heels and toes. A sleek, leather puffer vest looked chic with wide, signature Marant shoulders and cinched at the waist; so, too, did the numerous options of high-waisted jeans that pouched in just the right places. She added length to a boiled wool workwear shirt in plaid, turning it into a new kind of overcoat.
WWD Critique: Marant has a knack for working style with a weather-worn flavor — here again, she mastered volumes with striking results.
If Bergdorf Goodman’s Linda Fargo had her way, Giorgio Armani would open up his archive and atelier to Dutch couturier Iris Van Herpen for a season.
“That could create some extraordinary results,” mused Fargo, senior vice president of the fashion office and the director of women’s fashion and store presentation at the Manhattan retailer. “A guest designer or collaborator can bring a fresh take on the DNA of another brand. It’s like a duet: Think Amy Winehouse and Tony Bennett.”
While Fargo’s fantasy pairing might never happen, a growing number of marquee designers and luxury brands are inviting guest designers for a one-time appearance — or basing creative leadership based on serial collaboration rather than permanent artistic direction.
WWD has learned that Emilio Pucci, which has churned through six creative directors in the past 20 years, will now invite rotating guests to interpret its brand essence, archive and spirit, starting with French designer Christelle Kocher.
Moncler is perhaps the most prominent proponent of using serial creatives. In 2018, it invited eight designers including Pierpaolo Piccioli, Craig Green and Simone Rocha to join its new Genius project, which followed having Giambattista Valli and Thom Browne design women’s and men’s runway collections, respectively, for a decade.

TAG Heuer has been turning out finely crafted timepieces since 1860, and in honor of the company’s 160th anniversary this year, it’s reimagining a beloved series of watches: the Carrera line. The new Carrera 160 Years Silver Limited Edition combines the bold styling of the original model with a modern chronograph movement and exclusive commemorative details. Get ready for one handsome watch with plenty of history behind it, too.
The Carrera line began in 1962, when CEO Jack Heuer learned about the Carrera Panamericana, a grueling auto race held in Mexico in the 1950s. Inspired by the race, he envisioned a clean, well-proportioned chronograph watch bearing the Carrera name, and in 1963, the first example, known as the 2447S, left the company’s factory. Its starburst silver dial and three embedded counters made the watch easy to read while driving—and also incredibly stylish. Since then, Carrera watches have also featured the brand’s top tech, including the Valjoux 72 movement that powered the original.
The Carrera 160 Years Silver Limited Edition stays true to the legacy of the original watch while updating it for modern tastes. It comes with a polished stainless steel case that’s slightly larger (39mm) than the original Carrera, which measured 36mm. The case back features “one of 1860” and “LIMITED EDITION” engravings, and you can even take a peek inside: A sapphire crystal cover provides a view of the oscillating weight of the movement.
There are other subtle changes as well. On the new version, the second indicator has moved to the 6 o’clock position (it was at 9 o’clock on the original Carrera) to accommodate the new Heuer 02 movement. The dial features a chronograph function, hour and minute indicators, and the Carrera name and Heuer logo. Plus, the main hour and minute hands are faceted and coated with beige SuperLuminova for low-light visibility, and it’s water resistant to 100 meters, so you can feel good about wearing this one out and about. It’s not designed to be stuck inside a glass case.
It’s all topped off with domed sapphire crystal—a nice retro touch—and comes with a sleek black alligator leather strap. Style-wise, this is a watch that should be right at home with most of your wardrobe.
“Modern and clean, this piece is perfectly versatile,” said Men’s Journal Fashion Editor Kevin Breen. “It can be used to add a sporty touch to any business suit and as an eye-catching accessory to elevate a more casual outfit.”
It’ll be especially sharp when paired with a black leather jacket, a white turtleneck, tapered black trousers, and white tennis shoes, Breen says.
“The watch will take that classic-but-casual outfit to the next level.”
Under the hood, it’s also a fine example of TAG Heuer’s quality craftsmanship. The Heuer 02 movement is made in-house, and features a whopping 80-hour power reserve and a thinner profile for a more slimmed-down shape. It also includes innovations like a vertical clutch for greater precision—it keeps the watch from losing time when you use the start-stop chronograph function—and a column wheel for smooth, precise movements when you activate the push buttons. The movement also oscillates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) for better stability.
All of these features combine for smooth, consistent, and accurate operation even through the rigors of daily wear. Which is exactly what you’d expect from the rebirth of such a classic model from TAG Heuer.

Just in time for the Oscars, Gucci is expanding on Rodeo Drive.
The Italian luxury giant is opening a 3,500-square-foot dedicated men’s store next to its current Beverly Hills flagship, allowing for a bigger men’s offering, and more room for women’s fashion, leather goods and accessories in the existing space.
The new store showcases Alessandro Michele’s men’s ready-to-wear, shoes, luggage, small leather goods, accessories, silks, jewelry, watches and eyewear. It features its own street entrance with an oversize skylight. Inside, the decor juxtaposes modern and traditional, with industrial-looking displays alongside Gucci’s trademark plush velvet upholstery, vintage rugs and herringbone wood floors.
“The city of Los Angeles has always been a source of inspiration for Alessandro. From debuting as the backdrop of his first advertising campaign, to collaborations with iconic institutions such as Chateau Marmont and Hollywood Forever Cemetery, it makes sense that the Beverly Hills store is the fullest expression of his creativity,” said Susan Chokachi, president and chief executive officer of Gucci North America. “We believe it is the right moment to match the iconicity of Rodeo Drive with the presence of a Gucci men’s store to expand the brand experience and to align with our men’s growth ambitions. With the recent fall 2020 Gucci
A punk attitude met a romantic look in this collection, which the designer created with both celebrities and wealthy young socialites in mind. Beautiful embroideries and encrusted safety pins peppered the dresses, which spanned from languid long designs with draped constructions to mini frocks punctuated by crystals.
WWD Critique: A favorite of global stars, including Madonna, Nicki Minaj and Rita Ora, Scognamiglio demonstrated once again to know what women want from him: elegant clothes with a sexy, bit rebellious twist.

ON WITH THE SHOW: After runs at the de Young Museum in San Francisco and the Museum Angewandte Kunst in Frankfurt, “Contemporary Muslim Fashions” will be making its only East Coast stop at the Cooper-Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in New York.
Organized by the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, the stereotype-defying exhibition takes into consideration how Muslim women have become arbiters of style in their communities and beyond. The exhibition is the first to examine the modest fashion industry — a burgeoning sector in many parts of the globe. Opening to the public on Feb. 28 and running through Aug. 23, the show will spotlight about 80 ensembles from an assortment of fashion, streetwear, sportswear and couture designers. Visitors will also find about 40 photographs.
“Contemporary Muslim Fashions” will focus on the intersection of regional dress styles, global fashion trends and attitudes about modesty. It considers how Muslim women define themselves and are defined by their dress, providing a snapshot of the current moment in Muslim modest fashion. Modest fashion refers to garments that are both highly fashionable and provide sufficient body cover to address cultural concerns for modesty. Gallery goers will get a better understanding of how the attire worn
Fresh off its recent acquisition by New Guards Group, Ambush has big plans. Yoon Ahn, creative director of the brand she cofounded with her husband, Japanese hip-hop artist Verbal, said the first order of business was to streamline its 150 points of sale.
Next, she plans to add new categories to the label, which started out with jewelry but now makes 65 percent of its revenues from ready-to-wear. “Jewelry is always going to be a big part and the DNA of the brand,” she said. “I think we can definitely expand into shoes and bags so it becomes a full outfit.”
For her fall collection, inspired by the Japanese countryside, Ahn focused on layered silhouettes, with a beefed-up selection of knitwear and the introduction of the label’s first denim line. Layers of flimsy tops, kimono-collared jackets, raw-edged tailoring and padded coats gave the looks a lived-in feel.
Ahn said she was inspired by Jackie Nickerson’s “Farm,” a book of portraits of agricultural laborers in various African countries. Her jewelry also had a more grounded feel this season, with the introduction of natural stones alongside her signature padlock and chain designs.

Ariana Grande has made her highly anticipated return to the Grammys — and this year’s Cinderella-inspired ballgown actually got some red carpet airtime.
The 11-time Grammy nominee has arrived at the 2020 Grammys red carpet dressed in a custom Giambattista Valli voluminous tulle gown with matching dove gray opera gloves and her signature high ponytail, a look that is reminiscent of the Cinderella-inspired Zac Posen dress she was supposed to wear at last year’s ceremony.

While this year’s Grammys controversy is surrounding the Recording Academy’s chief executive officer, Deborah Dugan, last year’s drama involved Grande and her decision to drop out of performing and attending the awards ceremony. Grande’s decision ultimately boiled down to a dispute she had with the Grammys’ producers, who wanted her to perform songs from her nominated album, “Sweetener,” instead of her newest album, “Thank U, Next,” which had released the same day as the awards show. While she wasn’t at the ceremony, Grande went on to win her first Grammy that evening for best pop vocal album for “Sweetener.”
Grande’s custom tulle dress by Valli is reportedly 20 feet in
You could imagine yourself on another planet at Yuima Nakazato, where red sunlight streaming in through the windows and Art Deco columns of the Théâtre National de Chaillot were the backdrop for his exploration of new textile technologies.
Using mainly fibers made of artificial proteins developed by biomaterials producers Spiber, the Japanese designer sent out futuristic looks that took cues from the intergalactic worlds imagined by Osamu Tezuka, a prolific manga artist best known abroad for Fifties comic Astro Boy.
Much of his work is devoted to making clothes transformable by the wearer, through the use of proprietary snap closures, but his arsenal of techniques and vision of garment creation are so interconnected that it is impossible to speak of one without the other. To wit, Nakazato used bio-smocking, a technique that allows him to digitally control the shrinkage rate of a fiber, to fit rectangular pieces of fabric “like a kimono shape but also Western tailoring, without needle and thread, or waste” to the body, he said backstage.
Through the technologies at play here, Nakazato outlines a different but no less enticing future than the one offered by Iris van Herpen.
Staples Center may be the house that Kobe Bryant built, but the Grammys went on as planned there Sunday night as Los Angeles mourned its hometown hero.
“Tonight is for Kobe,” Lizzo said, opening the show with the soul-lifting version of “Cuz I Love You,” which everybody needed at the moment, complete with LED ballerinas.
But the heavy mood didn’t completely crush the Grammys’ trademark OTT red-carpet exhibitionism, with Ariana Grande sitting down in a puddle of dove-gray Giambattista Valli princess tulle, Lil Nas X strutting in pink Versace chaps and Tyler, the Creator coming dressed as a bellhop…just because. Even the smallest gestures were big, thanks to some mega manicures — Billie Eilish’s Gucci-greens, Rosalía’s crystal talons and Lizzo’s nail charms among them.
But this was a different Grammys exhibitionism than even five years ago. And viva la difference! Long gone were the nearly naked, sheer and side-boob looks of yore. This Grammys was about music’s new divas, from Billie Eilish to Billy Porter, today’s vanguards of individual style challenging what a rock star looks like at a time when diversity is still not a reality, even within the Grammys organization itself (which may or may not have been the
