Doing Too Much: 50 Cent Apologizes To Moneybagg Yo For Dumb Comment Towards Megan Thee Stallion

50 Cent Apologizes To Moneybagg Yo For Megan Thee Stallion Disrespect

Source: Bernard Smalls / @PhotosByBeanz

Somebody needs to get the strap for 50 Cent. The infamous internet troll had to apologize to Megan Thee Stallion’s boyfriend Moneybagg Yo for a very lame comment he made towards his girlfriend.

Fofty is already getting on people’s nerves because he changed the Power’s theme song and replaced it with a remix we didn’t ask for. Now he really played himself by talking about the Hip-Hop’s hottest artist Megan Thee Stallion. Moneybagg Yo and Thee Stallion’s relationship has been heating as of late with the couple being more open about dating. Over the weekend the “Dior” rapper shared a very tantalizing photo of the leader of “Hot Nerd Fall” seductively posing on a pool table with the caption “She Wit Wat3va I’m Wit.”

View this post on Instagram

She Wit Wat3va I’m Wit.

A post shared by BIG SPEAKER (@moneybaggyo) on

Fifty being the troll he is couldn’t resist the opportunity to rib his friend. He left a comment under the post stating  “All kinda good looking hoes out here the pressure a break em. Lol.” He failed to clarify what he meant by the comment. But some are interpreting it as him saying there are plenty of good looking women that will make it difficult for Moneybagg to stay faithful. We doubt he has that issue at all, especially with Meghan.

Moneybagg did take issue with Fif’s use of the term “hoe” in regards to Thee Stallion and replied “Yeah hoes, but she don’t fall in dat category.” The “Outta Control” rapper apologized immediately “claiming he didn’t even realize that it was Megan” in the photo and “he meant no disrespect.”

This should definitely serve as a lesson to the G-Unit general to be a bit more cautious while trolling.

Nike Apologizes To Black Family Who Say They Were Racially Profiled & Accused Of Stealing

joel stallworth tamiya dickerson nike racial profiling

Source: TaMiya Dickerson / facebook

A Black family says they were racially profiled and accused of stealing from a Nike store in Santa Monica, Calif. despite having proof of purchase. A white store manager flagged down cops to confront Joel Stallworth and TaMiya Dickerson and their 18-month-old son over a $ 12 basketball.

NBC News reports:

The incident happened on July 5 as Joel Stallworth and TaMiya Dickerson were at the Santa Monica Place shopping mall with their 18-month-old son, Sammy, according to a press release from the family’s lawyer and a video of the incident that Dickerson posted on Facebook.

The couple said they were not planning on buying anything but changed their mind and purchased a Nike Swoosh Mini basketball after their son picked it up and started to carry it around.

Stallworth and Dickerson said that as they were leaving the manager of the store followed them outside, accused them of stealing the basketball and demanded they give it back. Stallworth explained that they bought the ball for their son and continued to walk down the street with his family.

The manager continued to follow them and flagged down Santa Monica police officers for help.

Video of the incident on Dickerson’s Facebook page shows the parents explaining to the manager and at least three Santa Monica police officers that they bought the basketball and have the receipt.

The family took the ball back to get a refund and eventually retained the services of an attorney. Nike has issued an apology to the family and says it will look into the matter.

Daniel Caesar has apologized. The R&B crooner says my bad for caping for YesJulz and saying that Black people shouldn’t be so mean to white people, sort of.

Days after getting canceled, Caesar made his apology via the same method he put his foot in his mouth, on Instagram Live.

“I was talking down to you guys, you know what I’m saying?,” said Caesar, who also said he was being pretentious.

He added, “I just got say I apologize for how I expressed my idea because that is where I went wrong. I believe in what I said and I just need…as a man I just…I can admit when I’m wrong.”

Wait, be believe in what he said? Someone point this guy to a history of racism Google search. Also, you can prepare the statement before going live with the “tyrannical rant” (his words) excuse.

Is this dude still canceled or nah?

Lauryn Hill Has Been Running Late In Europe, Apologizes

Lauryn Hill Performs At AccorHotels Arena In Paris

Source: David Wolff – Patrick / Getty

If this surprises you, you haven’t been paying attention. Lauryn Hill was epically late to a couple of shows in Europe, outraging fans and leading her to apologize.

Ms. Hill is currently on the European leg of her 20th Anniversary of the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill tour. Fans in Brussels and Paris fell for the jig this past week with Hill reportedly starting her sets over an hour later, which cause short performances due to sharp time constraints of the venues.

On Tuesday (Nov. 20) in Paris, France she was over two hours late, leading fans to boo and just a 30-minute set. A couple of days prior in Brussels, Belgium, fans only got 40 minutes after she was a little early—just 1 hour and 40 minutes late.

“We apologize for the late start. We’re working through the kinks of moving the production to Europe, with time changes and curfew restrictions, we’ve had a few challenges in these early shows,” wrote Hill in a mea culpa she shared on Twitter. “With deep gratitude, I come on stage to perform an album that means so much to so many.”

Considering her lengthy track record of lateness, fans expecting the 43-year-old to suddenly change her ways are in denial. No shots.

Coonservative Candace Owens Is Hurt Kanye West Said She Used Him, Apologizes

Conservative commentator, Candace Owens, speaks at the Turning

Source: The Washington Post / Getty

In Sunken Place News, Candace Owens is hurt Kanye West put her on blast for using him for political clout. The coonservative took to her personal blog to throw a pity party for herself.

On Tuesday (Oct. 30), Yeezy hit Twitter to announce that he was stepping back from politics because he felt people were using him to send messages he didn’t actually believe in. He specifically called out Owens, saying he didn’t design her Blexit movement’s apparel, but only introduced her to the actual designer.

“I introduced Candace to the person who made the logo and they didn’t want their name on it so she used mine. I never wanted any association with Blexit. I have nothing to do with it,” he tweeted.

Owen’s letter was pure woe is me struggle.

Part of her blgopost, titled “808s and Heartbreak” reads:

If I had to imagine what it would feel like to have a bullet pierce my heart, it would be exactly like the moment I learned Kanye told the world he felt I had used him.

I wouldn’t wish the way I felt last night upon my worst enemy.

I never once said that Kanye designed the t-shirts for BLEXIT. This is a lie that seems to have made its way around the world; a lie I would like to again correct for the record. Kanye was completely right to feel used in that regard and as I have done personally, I would like to publicly apologize to him for any undue stress or pain the effort to correct that rumor has caused him, his business relationships, or his family. He simply never designed them.

Excuse us while we Google the world’s smallest violin.

Also, about her saying she never said Kanye designed the shirt…watch the video below. She specifically said Yeezy designed the clothes. So…receipts.

Dolce & Gabbana’s Domenico Dolce Apologizes For Anti-IVF, Anti-Gay Adoption Remarks

Italian fashion designer Domenico Dolce of Dolce & Gabbana has apologized for controversial comments he made opposing gay adoption and in-vitro fertilization (IVF).

“I’ve done some soul-searching,” Dolce told Vogue in an interview published Friday. “I’ve talked to Stefano a lot about this. I realized my words were inappropriate, and I apologize.”

The designers, who are both openly gay, came under fire in March when Dolce told Italian magazine Panorama “we oppose gay adoptions” and “the only family is the traditional one.”

He also made disparaging remarks about children born via IVF procedures.

“You are born to a mother and a father, or at least that’s how it should be,” he said. “I call children of chemistry, synthetic children. Rented uterus, semen chosen from a catalog.”

The significant public backlash included a call for Dolce & Gabbana boycott from Sir Elton John. Both designers initially defended the comments.

“We talked about our way of seeing reality, but it was never our intention to judge other people’s choices,” Gabbana said in an Instagram post at the time. “We do believe in freedom and love.”

Dolce made similar statements, saying he was only “talking about my personal view” and “the reality in which I grew up.”

Speaking to Vogue this month, however, both designers expressed a more thorough change of heart.

“They are just kids,” Dolce told the magazine. “You don’t need labels, baby labels. I think everybody chooses for themselves. I don’t know everything about IVF, but I love it when people are happy. It’s like medicine. Science has been put on the table to help people.”

News in Brief: Father Apologizes For Taking Out Anger On Wrong Son

ELIZABETH, NJ—Moments after losing his composure with an unwarranted emotional outburst, local father David Kessler reportedly apologized to his son Christopher Thursday for erroneously taking out his anger on him and not his older brother Peter. “I’m really sorry I snapped at you earlier, Chris—you aren’t the one who deserves it,” said Kessler, admitting he overreacted by losing his temper and berating the 16-year-old instead of his lazy and useless elder sibling. “I was totally out of line when I was screaming at someone other than Peter. There’s really no excuse for me to treat anyone except for your good-for-nothing brother that way. I promise it will never happen again.” Following the apology to his youngest son, sources confirmed that a sentimental Kessler told his assembled family members he was very proud of all but one of them.

George Takei Apologizes For Calling Clarence Thomas A ‘Clown In Blackface’

George Takei has apologized for referring to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas as “a clown in blackface.”

In a Facebook update posted on Friday afternoon, Takei said, “I owe an apology. On the eve of this Independence Day, I have a renewed sense of what this country stands for, and how I personally could help achieve it.”

On Thursday the Star Trek actor, who is gay, came under fire when he told a reporter he disapproved of Thomas’ dissent on the high court’s landmark same-sex marriage case.

“He is a clown in blackface sitting on the Supreme Court,” a jolted Takei said. “He gets me that angry. He doesn’t belong there.”

Watch the interview:

On June 26, the Supreme Court ruled 5 to 4 to legalize same-sex marriage nationwide, overruling state attempts to ban such unions.

The majority opinion, written by the court’s liberal justices Anthony Kennedy, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Elena Kagan, Stephen Breyer and Sonia Sotomayor, determined that the right to marry is protected under the 14th Amendment.

The dissenters — Chief Justice John Roberts, joined by Justices Antonin Scalia, Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas — disagreed, calling it unconstitutional.

Penning his own scathing dissent, Thomas wrote that the government could not take away “human dignity.”

“Slaves did not lose their dignity (any more than they lost their humanity) because the government allowed them to be enslaved,” Thomas wrote. “Those held in internment camps did not lose their dignity because the government confined them.”

This hit a cord with Takei, whose family was interned by Americans during World War II. Takei clarified that his remarks about Thomas, who is black, were not meant to be racial.

I recently was asked by a reporter about Justice Clarence Thomas’s dissent in the marriage equality cases, in which he wrote words that really got under my skin, by suggesting that the government cannot take away human dignity through slavery, or though internment. In my mind that suggested that this meant he felt the government therefore shouldn’t be held accountable, or should do nothing in the face of gross violations of dignity. When asked by a reporter about the opinion, I was still seething, and I referred to him as a “clown in blackface” to suggest that he had abdicated and abandoned his heritage. This was not intended to be racist, but rather to evoke a history of racism in the theatrical arts. While I continue to vehemently disagree with Justice Thomas, the words I chose, said in the heat of anger, were not carefully considered.

Takei apologized for personally attacking Thomas instead of the content of his argument:

I am reminded, especially on this July 4th holiday, that though we have the freedom to speak our minds, we must use that freedom judiciously. Each of us, as humans, have hot-button topics that can set-us off, and Justice Thomas had hit mine, that is clear. But my choice of words was regrettable, not because I do not believe Justice Thomas is deeply wrong, but because they were ad hominem and uncivil, and for that I am sorry.

Read his full apology:

I owe an apology. On the eve of this Independence Day, I have a renewed sense of what this country stands for, and how I…

Jim Carrey Apologizes For Tweeting Photo Of Boy With Autism In Anti-Vaccine Rant

Jim Carrey spent Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning tweeting about his anti-vaccination views, and on Thursday night he apologized for including a photo of a young boy without permission.

The actor had sent out an image of the boy, who has autism, as part of a series of tweets challenging a new California law that eliminates personal-belief exemptions for childhood immunizations.

The picture, which has since been removed, was attached to a tweet that read, “A trillion dollars buys a lot of expert opinions. Will it buy you? TOXIN FREE VACCINES, A REASONABLE REQUEST!” It was included among several images of distraught children with autism.

The scientific consensus, based on multiple studies, is that the vaccines distributed in the United States do not cause autism. Moreover, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that thimerosal, the specific compound that Carrey argues can lead to autism, was removed from childhood vaccines more than a decade ago, except for some flu vaccines.

Alex’s aunt, Elizabeth Welch, posted a screenshot of Carrey’s tweet on Instagram. In the caption, she said that her nephew does have autism but was diagnosed before receiving any vaccinations.

Carrey is not the only anti-vaccine celebrity. Most notably, there’s his former girlfriend, Jenny McCarthy, whose son has autism.

Cosmo Apologizes For Their Racially Controversial Beauty Story. But Was It Necessary?

Cosmopolitan magazine has gotten itself into some seriously hot water thanks to a story the glossy posted on its website in January entitled “21 Beauty Trends That Need to Die in 2015.”

Fast forward three months and the story is at the center of a controversy that has labeled the piece for being racially insensitive. Users on Twitter rediscovered the feature and were upset that the publication used white models and celebrities, with the exception of Nicole Richie who is bi-racial, to illustrate the beauty trends that are “in” for 2015. Meanwhile, all of the women of color who were included — again, besides Richie — were identified for rocking looks that should “RIP.”

Buzzfeed pointed out a few of the more perturbed readers who called out this distinction and took to Twitter to voice their frustration:

Supermodel Joan Smalls even joined the chorus of offended readers and Cosmo responded with an apology.

cosmo

Cosmo also updated the story with an apology for its part in offending readers and overlooking the lack of diversity across categories. The statement reads:

Many readers remain disturbed by the story, especially in light of the fashion industry’s blatant lack of diversity. Racism should never be condoned — and I’m the first one to wag my fingers when racism rears its ugly head.

However, considering not ALL the beauty don’ts in the article are depicted by black women — is it fair to label this as racially insensitive? In reality, a majority of the don’ts are illustrated by white women. Therefore, the perception that something highly racist was happening arguably doesn’t appear to be the case. The real problem is that there wasn’t any diversity in the “Hello, Gorgeous” category of the article.

With that said, the bigger takeaway is that If there were more people of color on these magazine staffs chiming in when stories are being produced, racially charged instances like this could perhaps be avoided.

Bob Jones III Apologizes For Saying Gays Should Be Stoned To Death

Bob Jones III, the controversial evangelical preacher and chancellor of Bob Jones University, has apologized for saying that gays should be stoned to death during comments made at the White House 35 years ago.

Jones, who was the university’s president at the time, was delivering a petition to then-President Jimmy Carter against extending Civil Rights Act protections to gays.

“I’m sure this will be greatly misquoted,” he said in 1980, according to the Associated Press. “But it would not be a bad idea to bring the swift justice today that was brought in Israel’s day against murder and rape and homosexuality. I guarantee it would solve the problem post-haste if homosexuals were stoned, if murderers were immediately killed as the Bible commands.”

On Saturday, Jones issued a statement taking back those words.

“I take personal ownership of this inflammatory rhetoric. This reckless statement was made in the heat of a political controversy 35 years ago. It is antithetical to my theology and my 50 years of preaching a redeeming Christ Who came into the world not to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. Upon now reading these long-forgotten words, they seem to me as words belonging to a total stranger — were my name not attached.

I cannot erase them, but wish I could, because they do not represent the belief of my heart or the content of my preaching. Neither before, nor since, that event in 1980 have I ever advocated the stoning of sinners.”

Jones’ full statement is available on the website of the Greenville, South Carolina, university.

The statement comes after a three-year-old petition calling on Jones to apologize for his comments began getting more attention in recent weeks. The petition was launched on Change.org by BJUnity, an organization dedicated to helping LGBT students from Bob Jones University.

The group accepted the apology.

It is never too late to say you’re sorry,” Jeffrey Hoffman, BJUnity’s executive director, told WSPA. “Most people are just shocked. We never expected to see an apology.”

The organization also released a statement online saying it was grateful that Jones had taken back “words that have caused deep harm for many more people than any of us knows. This means a lot to us because it represents the beginning of a change in the rhetoric and conversation.”

BJUnity also invited both Jones and BJU President Steve Pettit to attend a presentation in Greenville on Monday night by Matthew Vines, author of “God and the Gay Christian: The Biblical Case in Support of Same-Sex Relationships.”

Bob Jones University was founded in 1927 by Jones’ grandfather. It was once a frequent stop among Republican presidential hopefuls, hosting Ronald Reagan, Pat Buchanan, Bob Dole and George W. Bush, among others, as they sought the GOP nomination.

Vogue Editor Apologizes For Irresponsible Photo Of Homeless Reader, But Is That Enough?

Not again.

Elisabeth von Thurn und Taxis, a German princess and style editor-at-large for Vogue, came under fire Saturday for an Instagram post she uploaded while in Paris for Fashion Week.

The image, which brings back unfortunate New York Fashion Week memories, shows what appears to be a homeless person reading Vogue. The caption reads “Paris is full of surprises….and @voguemagazine readers even in unexpected corners!” It has since been deleted and replaced with an apology.

homeless person reading vogue

As a royal and well-known member of the fashion industry, the decision to post a photo like this lacks judgment. But there’s more to consider than just the fact that she messed up. The post speaks to the larger issue of how the fashion industry presents itself on social media.

Sure, people who are not in the public eye make mistakes all the time. But the difference between groveling to an offended friend versus an entire community of followers is vast. In an industry that is often perceived as being tragically disconnected from reality, it’s important to remember that decisions made on social media carry weight.

This disconnect on social media is not new. Kenneth Cole was criticized previously for exploiting possible military action in Syria to sell shoes. Earlier, he mocked protests in Cairo by claiming people in the region simply hear that the “new spring collection is now available online.”

American Apparel has also suffered the consequences of poor decision-making on the Internet. When Hurricane Sandy devastated the east coast in 2012, the brand took the opportunity to offer an online sale to its customers, just in case they were “bored during the storm.”

Just last month, Asos faced a PR nightmare of its own after tweeting a photo of its interns that seemed to lack any racial diversity.

Perhaps it’s time to reconsider the responsibilities of fashion brands and editors when it comes to social media, which can provide followers with an unpolished version of a company or person. It’s up to these tastemakers to understand the effects their posts have on followers and take that into account before posting. Enough is enough.
