Kodak Black’s Team Claims Prison Drugged Him Ahead Of Brawl

Kodak Black was just slapped with 46 more months in the joint after pleading guilty in his federal gun case, despite pleas of leniency. Given the recent dustup with prison security in October, Black probably made it worse on himself but his team claims that he was drugged with a chemical that made him act out.

TMZ reports:

We’re told surveillance video shows Kodak drinking a cup of coffee about 20 minutes before the fight broke out … and his reps believe Kodak’s coffee was spiked with a chemical substance intended to make him lose control.

Our sources say an agent from the FBI testified Wednesday that witnesses said Kodak appeared to be under the influence during the brawl.

As for the fight itself … we’re told Kodak got into it with another inmate, and a corrections officer sprayed KB with mace. Our sources say it took several prison guards to restrain Kodak, who displayed incredible strength after allegedly being drugged.

Bureau of Prisons spokesperson Emery Nelson tells us a staff member was physically assaulted during the fight and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Black’s attorney said he’s looking into the drugging allegations but little else is known at the time.

This Limited-Edition Tudor Watch Is Inspired by New Zealand’s All Blacks Rugby Team

The Rugby World Cup begins on Sept. 20, and New Zealand’s national rugby team, the All Blacks, are looking to capture its third straight World Cup victory after winning the tournament in 2011 and 2015. In honor of the team’s quest for the cup, luxury watchmaker Tudor has released a new timepiece, the limited-edition Black Bay Chrono Dark. Just 1,181 examples will be produced—a reference to the number of players who have donned an All Blacks uniform—and they’re on sale for $ 5,925 starting today.

The watch is part of Tudor’s global partnership with the All Blacks, who are ambassadors for the brand. And like the players it represents, this watch is built to be extra tough. It’s powered by a COSC-certified movement and features a 41mm matte black steel case, a steel bezel in matte black, a matte black bracelet and clasp, and an anodized aluminum bezel disc with a tachymetric scale. The case, bezel, bracelet, and clasp all get their matte black color through a process called Physical Vapor Deposition, or PVD, where metals are vaporized and then used to coat the surface of the watch—unlike painting, the resulting finish won’t chip.

On the face, it includes features like a chronograph 45-minute counter at the 3 o’clock position and an instant date at 6 o’clock. In addition, it’s waterproof up to 660 feet, so you don’t have to worry about swimming with it.

Rest assured, this watch can definitely handle the bumps and splashes of everyday wear—it’s made for rugby players, after all. Star player Beauden Barrett, who was named the best rugby player in the world in 2016 and 2017, has already reserved watch number 1115.

In other words, if you pick up one of these handsome timepieces, you’ll be in good company.

Tudor is the official timekeeper of the Rugby World Cup, and it’s also supplying all of the referees with traditional Black Bay Chrono watches. If you prefer the classic steel color, pictured above, that model is also available now for $ 5,100.

Whichever one you choose, you’ll get a rugged and stylish timepiece with a bit of rugby history built right in.

What We Know About Orange Is the New Black’s Third Season

Orange is the New Black

Netflix announced on Wednesday that it has renewed Orange Is the New Black for a fourth season. The news comes two months before the third season premieres on June 12. Along with the announcement, Netflix released a full scene from the upcoming season, which features an argument between fan favorites Poussey (Samira Wiley) and Crazy Eyes (Uzo Aduba):

The clip shows that season-two archvillain Vee (Lorraine Toussaint) might just be alive after all. That would be a huge shock after she was bulldozed by Miss Rosa’s van in the season-two finale. Although Netflix is trying to keep most of the details under wraps, here’s what we know so far about season three of Orange Is the New Black.

Piper’s (Taylor Schilling) on-and-off-again girlfriend Alex Vause (Laura Prepon) was rearrested in the show’s second-season finale, and the season-three trailer shows us that Alex—at least for the time being—is back in Litchfield. From the sound of it, things will remain expectedly rocky for the pair. Australian DJ, lesbian icon, and new cast member Ruby Rose was described as a “lust object of both Piper and Alex” in Elle.

Rose isn’t the only new addition to Litchfield in season three. Lori Petty’s Lolly, who befriended Piper during their stint at the Chicago penitentiary, will get a “major arc” of her own this season, according to BuzzFeed.

While there will be a few new faces, Jason Biggs revealed in February that Larry will not be returning to the set of OINB for season three. It’s safe to assume that there will be less of Piper’s ex-best friend Polly (Maria Dizzia) as well. And despite Crazy Eyes’s enthusiasm and fan speculation, Netflix has confirmed several times that Vee will not be appear in this season at all. But no matter what drama unfolds this season, fans are now guaranteed at least one more year with all of their favorite inmates.

George Lopez Says Blacks, Latinos On Late Night Aren’t ‘Able To Fail Like White People Fail’

George Lopez may be known for his comedy, but the actor gets serious in the upcoming inspirational drama “Spare Parts.”

The comedian stopped by HuffPost Live on Wednesday to promote his new film and spoke with host Marc Lamont about Latinos in late night, immigration and more.

On the topic of his 2009 late night show “Lopez Tonight,” which TBS abruptly cancelled after a two-year run, the comedian noted Latinos and Blacks had a more difficult time staying on the air. Lopez specifically mentioned stars like Queen Latifah and Arsenio Hall who he says weren’t given the opportunity to improve on air like their white counterparts.

“I just don’t think that we’re able to fail like white people fail,” Lopez told Lamont. “Our failures are heavier. When you’ll just leave a guy to get good and just leave him on to get good and we just get judged and criticized every day.”

And when it comes to making films and television that reflect diversity like “Spare Parts,” Lopez says it’s just as difficult.

“No matter what level or what degree you’re on in show business it’s still really hard to get movies made. So this movie will help the next movie get done,” Lopez said early on in the segment. “Gina Rodriguez winning a Golden Globe helps the next show that somebody wants to pitch and the fact that in all of that moment of her being overwhelmed she found a couple of seconds to say ‘this is a culture that wants to see themselves as heroes’… [Latinos] don’t want to divide ourselves in the United States or in entertainment, we just want to be included.”

“Spare Parts,” premiering on Friday, tells the true story of four undocumented Hispanic high school students from Phoenix, Arizona who entered a national collegiate robotics contest and managed to beat engineering giants like M.I.T with just $ 800 and no experience. Lopez’s character is a hybrid of the two real-life teachers who helped and supported the students in their endeavor.

While the comedian said there is an overall lack of opportunities for Latinos in Hollywood, in an answer to a viewer question, Lopez also said the movie would help get rid of any stereotypes that Hispanics aren’t intelligent.

“In our culture and in culture sometimes they make you feel a little be weird for being smart… but we are intelligent people and our dreams matter regardless of if you speak with an accent and people think that that makes you not intelligent,” Lopez answered. “Around the world and in Europe, if you speak multiple languages they look at that as a benefit, but in the United States if you speak Spanish, they look at you like you’re not speaking English. We’re woefully behind in a lot of things and one is perception.”

On the topic of immigration, Lopez urged people to vote in order for policies to change and said that, after being part of President Barack Obama’s 2008 and 2012 campaigns, it was “a little disappointing” that more hadn’t been done for immigrants.

“Immigration has to be reformed and laws have to change but those kids are smart, they deserve a chance,” the comedian said, referencing DREAMers like those portrayed in the film. “This country was built on immigration. And yea I think this movie will raise an incredible dialogue and conversation because one of the kids got deported and then came back and became a citizen and joined the military. We want to live in this country and we want to live happy in this country. Dreams matter and our stories matter and that’s what makes ‘Spare Parts’ really kind of good.”

Take a look at George Lopez’s full interview below.
