It begins with the story of nurse Heather Parks and her new assignment to care for the daughter of Michael Robbins, a wealthy widowed bachelor. Her job is to supervise Crystal Robbins chemotherapy at home. Over time Heather finds herself falling for Michael, but her horrible childhood memories overshadow any romantic feelings she has developed towards him. Heather tries to keep her distance from Michael, but the more they interact, the harder it is for her to resist him. This story highlights Heather’s journey of healing from the past, her hopes, her struggles, and her achievements as she trusts God to help her grow. Michael Robbins is a wealthy resident living in the exclusive community of Crystal Cove. He still mourns the loss of his late wife Carla who died at the hands of terrorists several years back. Even though he has given up hope on finding someone to replace Carla, he succumbs to the peer pressure of his friends and gets engaged to a flashy high society woman named Cynthia Wilson. But when he gets to know Heather, his heart is drawn to her and soon he finds himself falling in love with the nurse. The only problem is Heather seems reluctant to let him into her heart. Can Michael soften Heather’s heart and show her that true love can be wonderful? Or will he fail and lose love a second time?

Christian Siriano Encourages Fashion Designers to Pitch in Designing Masks for Hospital Workers

GET TO WORK: Christian Siriano is calling on other fashion designers to join his efforts to sew masks for hospital workers in the fight against the coronavirus.
After tweeting to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Friday asking how he could get masks to New York City hospitals, Cuomo’s team responded immediately to help coordinate and to determine which hospital needs the masks first, Siriano said.
Now working from his home in Connecticut, Siriano said he and his team aim to make 1,000 masks for New York City hospitals in a couple of days.
Siriano also hopes that any other designer who has the production capacity to help will do so. “I really think that if anybody still has team members who are sewing or who can sew, especially in New York, we could make a few hundred a day. There are only so many people who work in a hospital. Fashion could really change everything in a week. Look, we have nothing else to do right now. Nobody is buying clothes so what can we do? I hope that everybody can pitch in.”
Siriano said, “I know that Monique Lhuillier has a full working atelier in L.A. Maybe she can help. Hopefully, everybody

Karlie Kloss, Alicia Silverstone Front Row at Christian Siriano’s First Paris Runway Show

So nice, he did it twice.
New York designer Christian Siriano held an encore presentation of his spring 2020 collection in Paris on Wednesday, with a few famous faces in the front row, including his “Project Runway” co-star Karlie Kloss, and actress Alicia Silverstone.
Silverstone, who will next star in “The Baby-Sitter’s Club” revival, said she’s been friends with the designer for a while, and that they are travel buddies.
“I met him about four years ago. He asked me to come to a show and I hadn’t been to a fashion show since the one I had been in for Yves Saint Laurent when I was 8! The reason I went is he didn’t use fur, he didn’t use wool, and this was reason enough for me to show up. I felt so beautiful in the clothes, and he became a dear friend.”
The Paris show was the perfect excuse for a trip, she said. “He’s such a talent. I’m a huge fan of his work, and I’m so inspired by how he creates. I love everything he puts me in, and I also lie on top of him on planes.”
When asked to weigh in on this fashion season which has been headlined

Has Dries Van Noten Called on Christian Lacroix?

TAG TEAM?: Could Dries Van Noten be calling on another master of color and embellishment for his spring 2020 collection, to be paraded in Paris on Wednesday?
Rumors are rife in Paris that the Belgian designer could unveil some sort of project with, or tribute to, Mr. Christian Lacroix, who has pursued a thriving career in stage costumes since his couture house was shuttered in 2009.
The handwritten invitation to Van Noten’s show, while in uppercase block letters, certainly seems to bear the flourish of the designer, according to several people who worked closely with him for decades.
Reached late Tuesday, a spokesman for Van Noten had no comment. Lacroix did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The acclaimed couturier does not own his name. Florida-based duty-free operator Falic Group does, and has built a sizeable business in home, gifts, men’s wear and accessories, and just this week revealed to WWD plans to bring the name back into women’s fashions via collaborations and ultimately, a licensed collection in the advanced contemporary zone.
It comes at a time when exuberant volumes, bold prints and other Lacroix-isms are turning up on European runways.

Act I – Scene 1: The market place: The scene is in Verona. Romeo, son of Montague, tries unsuccessfully to declare his love for Rosaline and is consoled by his friends Mercutio and Benvolio. As day breaks and the townspeople meet in the market place, a quarrel develops between Tybalt, a nephew of Capulet, and Romeo and his friends. The Capulets and Montagues are sworn enemies and a fight soon begins. The Lords Montague and Capulet join in the fray, which is stopped by the appearance of the Prince of Verona who commands the families to end their feud. Scene 2: Juliet’s ante-room in the Capulets’ house: Juliet, playing with her nurse, is interrupted by her parents Lord and Lady Capulet. They present her to Paris, a wealthy young nobleman who has asked for her hand in marriage. Scene 3: Outside the Capulets’ house: Guests arrive for a ball at the Capulets’ house. Romeo, Mercutio and Benvolio, disguised in masks, decide to go in pursuit of Rosaline. Scene 4: The ballroom: Romeo and his friends arrive at the height of the festivities. The guests watch Juliet dance. Mercutio, seeing that Romeo is entranced by her, dances to distract attention from him. Tybalt recognises Romeo and orders him to leave, but Capulet intervenes and welcomes him as a guest in his house. Scene 5: Outside the Capulets’ house: As the guests leave the ball, Capulet restrains Tybalt from pursuing Romeo. Scene 6: Juliet’s balcony: Unable to sleep, Juliet comes out onto her balcony and is thinking of Romeo, when suddenly he appears in the garden. They confess their love for each other. Act 2 – Scene 1: The market place: Romeo can think only of Juliet and, as awedding procession passes, he dreams of the day when he will marry her. In the meantime Juliet’s nurse pushes her way through the crowds in search of Romeo to give him a letter from Juliet. He reads that Juliet has consented to be his wife. Scene 2: The chapel: The lovers are secretly married by Friar Laurence, who hopes that their union will end the strite between the Montagues and Capulets. Scene 3: The market place: Interrupting the revelry, Tybalt fights with Mercutio and kills him. Romeo avenges the death of his friend, and is exiled. Act 3 – Scene 1: The bedroom: At dawn next morning the household is stirring and Romeo must go. He embraces Juliet and leaves as her parents enter with Paris. Juliet refuses to marry Paris, and hurt by her rebuff he leaves. Juliet’s parents are angry and threaten to disown her. Juliet rushes to see Friar Laurence. Scene 2: The chapel: She falls at Friar Laurence’s feet and begs for his help. He gives her a phial of sleeping potion which will make her fall into a death-like sleep. Her parents, believing her to be dead, will bury her in the family tomb. Meanwhile Romeo, warned by Friar Laurence, will return under cover of darkness and take her away from Verona. Scene 3: The bedroom: That evening Juliet agrees to marry Paris, but next morning, when her parents arrive with him, they find her apparently lifeless on the bed. Scene 4: The Capulet family crypt: Romeo, failing to receive Friar Laurence’s message, returns to Verona stunned by grief at the news of Juliet’s death. Disguised as a monk, he enters the crypt, and finding Paris by Juliet’s body, kills him. Believing Juliet to be dead, Romeo drinks a phial of poison. Juliet awakes and, finding Romeo dead, stabs herself.

Flag & Anthem Names NFL Player Christian McCaffrey Brand Ambassador

Flag & Anthem has tapped NFL star Christian McCaffrey of the Carolina Panthers as its brand ambassador.
Previously, the men’s wear brand started by Azod Mohit and Brad Gartman has partnered with Ford Motors on a capsule collection and collaborated with country star Dierks Bentley, as well.
The partners seem to have been fated to work together. Gartman said he had followed McCaffrey’s career closely, going back to the athlete’s time at Stanford, where in 2015 he broke the NCAA record for all-purpose yards, was named Associated Press Player of the Year and was a runner-up for the Heisman Trophy. Meanwhile, McCaffrey said he shopped the brand and wore the clothes before shooting the campaign.
Gartman said McCaffrey is the “ideal core customer for the brand,” and they are in similar “emerging” stages, with McCaffrey starting his pro-football career in 2017, one year after Flag & Anthem launched. Gartman also described the partnership as “natural.”
The brand photographed its fall campaign in Colorado, which seems to have been a stroke of fate as well, considering that McCaffrey was born and raised in the state. While McCaffrey described the campaign shoot as “cool” and “easy,” Gartman expressed just how “natural” the shoot was.
“It was kind

As fascist troops descend on Paris, German refugee Georg (Franz Rogowski) flees to Marseille, where he assumes the identity of a dead writer and obtains a transit visa for passage to North America. Awaiting his escape in a make-shift emigré community, Georg's life intertwines with those of a young refugee and his widowed mother, and a lovely, mysterious woman in search of her own missing husband (Paula Beer), causing Georg to imagine new beginnings. Brilliantly adapted from Anna Seghers' 1944 novel by renowned filmmaker Christian Petzold (PHOENIX), TRANSIT shifts the story to an indeterminate present, blurring history with the contemporary to create an urgent and timeless exploration of the plight of displaced people around the world.

Christian Louboutin Plots Paris Exhibition

When Christian Louboutin was growing up in Paris, heels were not allowed at the Palais de la Porte Dorée, an Art Deco gem dedicated to African and Asian arts.
Sweet revenge comes in February 2020, when the museum, whose partial restoration was funded by the luxury shoemaker, will house an exhibition devoted to Louboutin’s creativity and his diverse aesthetic passions.
“It’s an open window to my brain,” was how Louboutin summed up the vast showcase, where more than 200 pairs of shoes will be sprinkled among an eclectic mix of art works, furnishings, installations, performance pieces and some fashion items, including crosses and crowns. “The heel is back in the museum in full force, only it’s not only an exhibition of high heels. We have flat shoes, too.”
The delicate mosaics and parquet floors are what compelled the museum to ban spindly footwear back in the day. And its ornamental splendor is what sparked Louboutin’s passion for decorative arts, which would become a key source of inspiration for the future designer.
In an interview on Thursday, Louboutin recalled being awed by the tall doors sheltering one of the museum’s sumptuous salons, its door handles made of jutting horns that evoked the wonder of Africa.

When Cory Gunz essentially blew up the spot on Lil Wayne’s “6 Foot 7 Foot” it really seemed like his road to rap superstardom was all but imminent. It wasn’t.

Still the son of Love & Hip Hop Creep Squad savant, Peter Gunz continues to show and prove he’s a rhythmical beast and in “Paradise” links up with Philippe Prosper for a kung-fu showcase in a park that’s immediately followed by a celebration. This visual is proof that colorful leaves work in every setting.

From action to animation, Christian Rich puts together an interesting team as he links with Jaden Smith, Vic Mensa and Belly but instead of collaborating for a typical video decide to go the anime route for their clip to “Shibuya (Ghost II).”

Grace Kelly’s Wardrobe on Show at Christian Dior Museum

PARIS — Grace Kelly’s wardrobe is coming to Granville.
Beginning April 27, the Christian Dior Museum, located in the designer’s family home in Granville, Normandy, will welcome more than 85 dresses from Kelly’s personal wardrobe, as part of an exhibition dedicated to her close relationship to the house of Dior.
“Grace of Monaco, Princess in Dior” will showcase the large collection of Christian Dior pieces previously owned by Kelly, carefully preserved at the Monaco palace since her death in 1982. Running until Nov. 17, the exhibition is timed with what would have been her 90th birthday.
The Hollywood actress, who starred in Hitchcock’s “Rear Window” in 1954, chose to wear Christian Dior as she entered into Monegasque royalty, following her marriage to Prince Rainier III in 1956: she appeared in a Dior gown at her engagement ball held at the Waldorf Astoria in New York that year, and chose the “Colinette,” a haute couture creation from Christian Dior’s fall 1956 collection, to wear in her first official portrait as Princesse Grace of Monaco.
“Grace Kelly’s relationship with the maison Dior reveals the central place the house occupied in fashion at the time,” explained fashion historian Florence Müller, who curated the exhibition. To prepare the

Christian Wijnants Pre-Fall 2019

Paintings by Alice Neel served as a starting point for the prints of Christian Wijnants’ pre-fall collection, which he presented in the showroom of the Galerie d’Architecture.
He noticed the portrait painter’s use of stripes, which he borrowed and applied to a white T-shirt — they ran vertically, hand-painted rather than machine-drawn, as shown by how they wavered slightly.
Known for celebrating diversity, Neel was active between the Sixties and the Eighties, corresponding to Wijnant’s childhood. Perhaps his attraction to her work reflected a nostalgic bent, he observed. A denim dress had a slight Seventies flavor with interesting seams crisscrossing the body, diagonal at the chest, while a pocket at the waist was slightly pushed forward. Going for a bit more elegance, he opted for higher waistlines, more cotton — for shape — and lots of jackets, in oversize cuts, boyfriend style. The resulting lineup felt relevant and self-assured, bringing new elements to the label’s knit and patterned universe.
With pre-fall collections hitting stores in May, he offered pieces with a summer feeling — the market has increasingly become see-now-buy-now, he noted.
Prints included a stylized flower he calls moon flowers, noting there was something poetic about not being able to identify the shape,

Christian Siriano Pre-Fall 2019

“Welcome to lavender world,” Christian Siriano declared upon entering his atelier. The designer took the color to the extreme for pre-fall, injecting soft shades of lavender and lilac into his signature sculptural gowns and a wide range of sleek, daytime silhouettes.
Siriano has been laser-focused with his pre-collections lately — remember, resort was a punch of Barbie pink. Because pre-season collections sit on sales floors the longest, it’s an effort to keep the seasonal messages consistent across different store buys.
The first piece he created was the most elaborate. It also clearly displayed the collection’s inspiration: the lavender fields in Provence, France. Dramatic, tiered layers mirrored the rows of flowers without being overbearing, and the gown would be a great Oscar-night contender, perhaps for Lady Gaga. Other dresses balancing his penchant for drama against feminine charm included a mini lilac number with voluminous sleeves, a pouffy little black dress with cold-shoulder draping, and an elegant white gown with a built-in capelet. Draping, wrap and ruffle details are modern ways Siriano has used to address conservative clients who ask for more coverage.
The collection ranged from feminine and formal to cool and everyday. Separates were meant to be mixed and matched and dressed up

Christian Wijnants Pre-Fall 2018

Female adventurers like Gertrude Bell helped inspire Belgian designer Christian Wijnants, who continued being influenced by a notion of Persia, as well, while conceiving his pre-fall line.
“This woman was actually here in the summer collection — there were a lot of prints, a lot of scarves,” he said, adding this season the links to Persia are less distinct and more what sparked the notion of how women traveling want clothes that can easily — and comfortably — be worn.
This collection does successfully offer that, with its wide array of wide silhouettes, including broad sleeves and trouser pants, and soft fabrics like silks, cottons and knits — not to mention ample draping.
“I really like it when dresses have movement,” the designer said.
The line also has eye-catching prints, including ethnic floral motifs, in light colors that were developed in-house.
Christian Wijnants the brand celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, and that gave its designer pause. He reviewed the last decade of collections and identified “what I like most to do — the soft dresses, drape-y pieces, knitwear combined with prints,” Wijnants said.

Christian Bale saddles up for earnest ‘Hostiles’

In some respects a timely rumination on healing and bridging divisions, “Hostiles” is a sturdy but unspectacular western, as old adversaries shed animosities through the shared ordeal of a cross-country trek. Christian Bale turns in a solid, stoic performance as a gruff soldier, but writer-director Scott Cooper’s earnest film doesn’t break much ground.

Vintage Christian Lacroix, Yves Saint Laurent on Sale Benefitting Women in Politics

Christene Barberich, founder of Refinery 29, has partnered with Rebecca Taylor, Rachel Antonoff and Stacy London for a vintage sale of over 150 one-of-a-kind pieces from the likes of Christian Lacroix, Kenzo, Nike, Yves Saint Laurent, Miu Miu, Prada and more to benefit women’s empowerment in the second installment of a series called “Vintage for a Cause.”
The sale tonight from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Rebecca Taylor store in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District will donate 50 percent of the proceeds to “Should She Run,” a charity working to put women in public office (the goal is 250,000 women in public office by 2030).
“Empowering women is something I’m extremely passionate about, so I’m very happy we’re able to host this event to support ‘She Should Run,’” Taylor said. “I think it’s a very important time to support women running for office, and I really admire Christene as a friend and fellow women entrepreneur for starting ‘Vintage for a Cause.’”
“Stacy and I share a deep mutual affection for vintage, so it was a given I wanted to do these pop-up sales with her, as well as other women, designers and shop-owners who share our affinity for beautiful pieces from the past,” Barberich said.

Shops at Crystals Nabs Christian Louboutin Boutique

DESERT MIRAGE: The design idea for Christian Louboutin‘s third boutique in Las Vegas was to fashion an oasis in the middle of the desert.
The 1,442-square-foot store, located in The Shops at Crystals mall inside the Aria Resort & Casino, includes a reclaimed wood facade that underwent a bleaching and inking process to give it a black-and-white finish. Metal displays mimic those of garden gates and also help cordon off different sections of the store. Custom wallpaper and photographs also adorn the store’s interior that continue the abstract garden theme.
The boutique carries women’s and men’s footwear, handbags and small leather goods and joins other recent additions to the Shops at Crystals such as Céline and Audemars Piguet.
The mall, located on the Las Vegas strip, is home to a roster of luxury brands that also includes Tom Ford, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci and Saint Laurent.
Louboutin already has boutiques at the Grand Canal Shoppes and the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, also both located on the Strip.
The boutique opening at the Shops at Crystals follows the opening of a third Los Angeles Christian Louboutin at the Brentwood Country Mart in April.

Christian Siriano RTW Spring 2016

Christian Siriano is known for his bold eveningwear, but he’s been quietly growing and evolving his offerings for day. So as a natural progression, the designer’s spring show was focused on sportswear, which Siriano told WWD backstage he felt was important to highlight because of its versatility.

Inspired by Morocco, both its landscape and its architecture, the designer filled his collection with texture, fringe and embroidery. Feminine handkerchief-hem dresses; fringed crop tops paired with a flounce skirt or wide-leg pants, and a hammered silk cape top and trousers were among his most striking day looks.

For evening, Siriano went for all-out drama with voluminous gowns, many in shades of silver and gold, and a few bizarrely hooded numbers in bright hues. More subdued was the fitted black gown with a cutout detail across the shoulders and neckline. It had a sleek confidence that would translate beautifully on the red carpet.

"The author has written a story that is so compelling I couldn't put it down. The story shows there is hope and redemption through God's love and forgiveness and that He is working in lives even during the most trying of circumstances." Ann. E Born of wealth and privilege, Elizabeth Walton-Smythe's future should have been set in stone. The headstrong teacher and her minister beau should have been married. That was the plan, as far as Lizzy was concerned, but, that wasn't to be, and one fateful encounter with a roguish Irishman quickly alters Lizzy's future and sends her heart and her life into a tailspin. Marriage shouldn't have been an option, but in her haste to rebel and escape, it soon became her reality. Now, she's faced with a new, different kind of fateful decision. One which will test her faith and her resolve. With secrets from Daniel's past lurking and deep, dark secrets of her own to contend with, can the love that should have never been be salvaged, and will these two seemingly lost souls be able to endure the greatest challenge of their lives? This is a story of passion, love, and of God's inexplicable desire to free people from pasts that haunt them, so they can live a life full of His peace, love and forgiveness, regardless of the circumstances. "Lingering Shadows" is Book One of "The Shadows Trilogy". Interview with the Author Q. So what makes "The Shadows Trilogy" special? A. "The Shadows Trilogy" is a series of Christian romantic novels that not only make you feel good, but show God's love at work in people's lives. When I set out to write this series, I really wanted to create a contemporary Christian romance with captivating, real life characters who face some quite challenging, real life issues. In fact, they could be classified as Christian romantic suspense novels, as there's definitely an element of suspense in them. Q. What order should I read the books in? A. As the story unfolds progressively, it's important that you read them in order. Book 1: "Lingering Shadows", followed by Book 2: "Facing the Shadows", and then Book 3: "Beyond the Shadows". Q. So, why should readers give these books a go? A. Anyone looking for satisfying Christian romantic fiction with real life issues would enjoy this series. My hope is that by reading these Christian womens fiction, my readers will be challenged to draw closer to God, and to let go of any shadows in their own past that might be holding them back from living a life full of God's grace, peace, and forgiveness. Overall, I believe that "Lingering Shadows" is a Contemporary Christian romance suspense novel that will appeal to any Christian woman seeking an enjoyable but challenging read.

This Straight Christian Man Spent A Year Pretending To Be Gay — And This Is What He Learned

This sure is one literal interpretation of the expression “walking a mile in someone else’s shoes.”

In 2012, we brought you the story of Timothy Kurek, a straight, Christian man who “came out” to his family, friends and church community and “lived as a gay man” for a year in order to better empathize with the life and struggles of queer people.

While this is, as a whole, an extremely problematic enterprise, Kurek seems to have learned quite a bit during his year navigating the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community in Nashville, Tennessee. Approximately three years following the end of his experiment, he gave a Tedx Talk discussing his experiences.

Kurek tells the audience that he decided to embark on this journey after a young lesbian told him that she had come out and been disowned by her family. He initially thought it was his “job to straighten her out, to fix her. It was my job to share those six passages in the Bible I’d always been taught condemn homosexuality.”

But then, upon further reflection, he came to consider that these feelings came from a different place.

“Maybe that voice inside my head that told me to do anything other than be there for her in her pain… maybe that voice wasn’t God. Maybe that voice was the result of two decades spent in a hyper-conservative religious bubble.”

It was then that he decided to “come out” as a gay man to his family and friends and experience the ramifications of that choice.

Watch the Tedx Talk above to hear more of Kurek’s story and what happened that year.

Social Media Laments Loss Of Christian Taylor [Photos]

As the details surrounding the police shooting death of 19-year-old Angelo State University football player Christian Taylor, questions have been continuously mounting on what actually happened. With reports saying that the officer who killed Taylor was still in training, social media has used the unfortunate moment to lament the loss and demand justice.

Officer Brad Miller, which the Dallas News writes is a 49-year-old trainee, just graduated from the Arlington Police Academy this past March and was working under an officer’s supervision. As we reported Friday evening, Miller was responding to a burglary call at the Classic Buick GMC dealership around 1:00 a.m. Friday morning. Reports say that Taylor was inside a showroom after using a vehicle to drive through its glass front. There was a reported altercation of some sort, which is when Miller gunned Taylor down.

What makes this case curious is that friends and family of Taylor say he wasn’t the type to steal and that his Christian faith was something he valued more than anything. Most believe that Taylor wasn’t there to steal a car and there’s little evidence to support claims on either side. Arlington police don’t have body cameras and the video inside the dealership didn’t reveal what happened in the shooting.

Social media users, especially on Twitter, have chimed in with their own thoughts about what happened with Taylor. As the incident happened in Texas, there were some mild comparisons made to the Sandra Bland case as well. Although many theories abound, police say they are still investigating the matter. However, skeptics feel that this is another in a long line of white police officers taking Black lives.

View the following pages to see social media band together and discuss the unfortunate case of Christian Taylor by way of the #ChristianTaylor hashtag.

Christian Louboutin’s New Lipsticks Look Like Sex Toys

Sex sells, eh?

Christian Louboutin, the designer behind coveted red-soled shoes everywhere, expanded into the beauty realm with a line of nail polishes last year, and he will soon sell lipstick to match.

If the nail polish packaging was regarded for its sleek design, the lipstick tubes, while undeniably gorgeous, are a bit … sexier, in every sense of the word. Launching on Sept. 1 and retailing for $ 90, (yes, $ 90), the collection includes 38 colors total, comes in three different textures and yes, kind of looks like a vibrator.

Each sexy tube come threaded on a black, silk, ribbon, meaning you can also wear it as necklace. Can you say easy access?

While the price is steep for lipstick, it’s a bargain compared to what you’d spend on a pair of shoes by the designer.

Christian Louboutin Adds to His Formidable Business

Why shouldn’t a tube of lipstick be so gorgeous you could wear it like an amulet dangling from a fine chain? And why shouldn’t a handbag be imbued with all the drama and sass of a cabaret performer, the flesh-toned handles kicking out of the black leather side panels like Dita Von Teese’s gams from a velvet curtain?
One has to hand it to Christian Louboutin: He thinks differently, strives for the exceptional and continues to add heat to his formidable footwear-based business.
Later this year, the Paris-based designer will introduce Rouge Christian Louboutin Lip Color to echo his famous soles — plus 37 other shades — and he’ll start shipping the Paloma bag, the linchpin model of a revved-up leather-goods range hinged more emphatically on brand codes such as spikes, animal prints and that famous red.
Unveiling the twin product volleys exclusively to WWD, Louboutin describes an unhurried, organic and hands-on approach to extending his brand and his business, embarking only on projects that feel legitimate and tickle his creative fancy.
“I take time to think,” he says over the line from New Delhi, where he flew in late July to design shoes for fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee, who opened this year’s Amazon

This story highlights Michelle’s journey of courage as an unwed mother, her hopes, her struggles, and her achievements as she trusts God to help her grow. *This is only a Preview and not a stand-alone novel* In this first book, Michelle Clemens’ life turns upside down when her longtime boyfriend Luke walks away from their relationship, leaving her to deal with an unexpected pregnancy. Afraid of what the future has in store for her, Michelle returns to her faith, trusting God to help her pick up the pieces of her shattered life. But when she thought life couldn’t get any worse, she discovers her precious grandmother Lilo in Hawaii is dying and only has weeks to live. Michelle rushes back home to Trinity Ranch, a cattle farm tucked in the beautiful valleys of Haleiwa, a small town on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. The ranch has been in her family for decades ever since Queen Lili-uokalani, the last reigning monarch of the Hawaiian Islands granted it to her great-grandfather. Michelle is apprehensive about visiting her family, especially because of the estranged relationship with her father since she ran away with a boy eight years ago. During her journey home, she meets Daniel, a handsome man who touches her heart with his kindness and genuine concern for her wellbeing. But Michelle is forced to keep her love for him secret when she finds out that Daniel is engaged to be married. Daniel is a stunt man working a shoot for an action movie in Hawaii. While on location away from his home town of Newport Beach, California, he struggles with his conscience trying to rationalize his engagement to Kimberly, the daughter of a wealthy family. He goes through the motion of planning the wedding with his fiancé, but his life is changed forever when he bumps into the beautiful Michelle at the Honolulu airport. A mix up with their airline tickets sends Daniel on a mission into the beautiful countryside of Haleiwa in search of Michelle. But instead of a quick trip to swap plane tickets, he becomes mesmerized with Michelle and the grace and beauty of Hawaiian life on Trinity ranch. Unable to resist, he accepts the Clemens’s hospitality to stay longer even though he knows Kimberly expects him back home soon. Will Daniel recognize the soul mate God has brought into his life or will he leave Hawaii and succumb to the worldly pressures of marrying into a wealthy family?

Unable to cope with life, he escapes to a small town in Northern California where he hopes to find God and a resolution to the devastation he feels. But the overwhelming emotional pain paralyzes him and just when he's at his wits end, his life takes another unexpected twist when he accidentally meets Stephanie, Rachel’s mother who has also escaped to the same small town to live with her parents. Kevin is torn between feelings of guilt and indebtedness when he finds out Stephanie wants him to help her heal from the loss of Rachel. Can he come to grips with the painful events in his life and travel down the road to recovery with Stephanie by his side, or will he reject her help? Stephanie Knight is a single mother who suffers the loss of her daughter Rachel to a tragic car accident. Even though she has a close relationship with her mother Valerie and a strong faith in God, she struggles with the question of why God would allow Rachel to be taken so early. She relocates to her parent’s home in Northern California to escape the depressing memories of her daughter and to take time to heal. With God’s help and her mother’s support, she manages to cope with the loss of Rachel. But to her surprise, she finds out that Kevin Pierce, the same doctor who couldn’t save Rachel, is also living there. When she notices that Kevin’s life has spiraled into a place darker than her own, her heart goes out to him and she proposes they work together to help each other heal. But will he accept her help and forge an unlikely relationship? Or will Kevin reject her help and miss out on an opportunity to experience sacrificial love?

Christian Wijnants Resort 2016

Christian Wijnants’ first resort collection was directly inspired by his first flagship store, set to open September 8 in Antwerp. The 1,184-square-foot space, designed by Swedish architect Andreas Bozarth Fornell (the guy behind most Acne Studios stores), will play on the contrast between artificial and natural. For example, high-tech fabrics, such as Plexiglas and polyester, will mix with raw and natural elements, like cork and even herbarium specimens as wall coverings.

The lineup had a charming ease. Flat floral motifs influenced the collection’s prints, including abstract flowers that looked like they had been doodled on the fabric appeared on silk crepe, jacquard and textural knitwear. Crafty 3-D crochet flowers applied on dresses and tops were mixed with waxed cotton unlined parkas and shorts in a slightly strange bubble-gum pink color. The tension of natural/artificial continued in a simple, minimal cream sweater in linen yarn finished with white nylon ribbing, and a cocooned double-face jersey kimono coat in a linen and nylon blend.

Two astronauts awaken in a hyper-sleep chamber aboard a seemingly abandoned spacecraft. It is pitch black, they are disoriented, and the only sound is a low rumble and creak from the belly of the spacecraft. They have no idea who they are, how long they've been asleep, or what their mission is. Corporal Bower (Ben Foster of 3:10 TO YUMA, X-MEN: THE LAST STAND) explores the spacecraft as Lt. Payton (Dennis Quaid of THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW) stays behind for guidance on a radio transmitter. As Bower ventures deeper and deeper into the ship, he soon discovers they are not alone. Slowly the spacecraft's shocking and deadly secrets come unraveled, and the astronauts realize that the survival of mankind hinges on their actions.

The Problem With Becoming a ‘Professional’ Christian

When we look at church history, as well as the modern church, it seems to me that many of the problems have grown out of believers receiving a salary from other believers. The concept of being paid to be a believer, a ‘professional believer’ of sorts, has historically resulted in church leaders not only failing to understand the gospel, but, instead, subtly or overtly enforcing a mixed gospel (one that causes no conflict to either the congregation’s religious comfort nor the preacher’s job security) upon the very people who are paying them.

It is a problematic circle. For if the ‘paid believer’ is to grow in his understanding of the gospel, it will result in his theology evolving and changing, sometimes quite dramatically, and this will inevitably challenge those who he shares it with, and in doing so they will most likely remove their financial support, for fear they are financially supporting a heretic (for everything people can not immediately understand is considered heresy).

More than this, the notion of ‘full-time paid ministers’ creates the illusion that these people must know more than the average believer because they have more time to study. But, again, what does history show us? It shows us that the only preachers who even came close to the truth of the gospel were persecuted and, in many cases, violently murdered by the paid church leaders. Those who spent all their days studying the Scriptures could not see the gospel even if it was right in front of their face. More than that, they aggressively persecuted those who could see it, those who dared to share it with the greater body of Christ.

2015-06-15-1434404673-9759939-photodune1860048professionalteamxs.jpg

We are all the same when it comes to protecting our jobs and income streams. We all need to look after our families. We all need to make sure the money is there to pay the rent and feed the family. But, in my opinion, when your income is connected directly to your faith a serious problem arises, for the protection instinct we all have within us, regardless of how we make a financial living, directly interferes with and overpowers the journey to come into the full freedom of the gospel.

Personally, I don’t think it is possible to enter into the full freedom Christ gave us while within a religious system; the reason being, that your freedom will challenge the very structure itself. While the people within may very well welcome the change, those being paid to administer/manage the system will not (and they are the ones setting the tone for the whole community), for they will be out of a job, and also out of a position of authority and respect.

I think that Jesus came to break us free from this very concept of relating to God and one another via an institution. Jesus made the way to come directly to both God and others without the need for an external mediator, without clergymen and pulpits. Jesus made a way for us to have faith in God without the structure of religion hedging us in.

It sometimes makes me wonder if following Jesus didn’t turn into a profitable empire — where entrepreneurial types could so easily make a healthy living out of controlling pockets of the empire and receiving endless donations to build the Jesus-empire in the name of their chosen ministry — I wonder how the average Christian would live like in society today. I wonder if the whole world would be a healthier place. More than that, I wonder how much freer Christians would be?

It seems that, as a Christ-follower, after we get out of organized religion, we spend years, maybe our whole lives even, trying to get that religion out of us. Physically stepping out of the walls of the institutional-Christian-empire is relatively easy compared to emotionally uprooting those walls and getting them out of our own hearts and minds.

But what if there were no walls to begin with? Would we have entered into Christ and have been free from the start, and have stayed free? For the past 2,000 years, would we have made a greater impact in the world by not trying to rule it and obsess over empire-building, but rather by truly living it with the fullness of love God has deposited within us? Would we have let love be our guiding light instead of another man’s religious vision for institutional construction of one religious building after the next?

Why Mike Huckabee Fails His Christian Duty By Mocking Transgender People

How should Christians treat transgender people?

The answer seems obvious: With respect and love. Yet former governor Mike Huckabee, a favorite of Christian conservatives, took to mocking transgender people at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention as he criticized city ordinances that allow people to use public restrooms based on how they identify their gender.

The website Buzzfeed unearthed a video of the February comments in which the former Baptist minister quipped, “Now I wish that someone told me that when I was in high school that I could have felt like a woman when it came time to take showers in PE. I’m pretty sure that I would have found my feminine side and said, ‘Coach, I think I’d rather shower with the girls today.’” As the presumably Christian audience clapped and giggled, Huckabee said, “You’re laughing because it sounds so ridiculous, doesn’t it?”

Yes, it does. But not for the reason they think. What’s ridiculous — and sad — is that Huckabee, a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, and his audience appear to believe that transgender people are perpetrating some sort of hoax so they can gain access to public restrooms or locker rooms. Or that they’ve chosen to identify with a particular gender on a whim. This disregards the actual lives of transgender people, some of whom (though not all) have described feeling trapped in the wrong body from a young age. What’s so funny about that?

Worse, the butt of this joke are people who are already too frequently marginalized by society. According to the Human Rights Campaign, transgender people are nearly four times more likely to have an annual household income of less than $ 10,000 and twice as likely to be unemployed compared with the general population. The 2011 National Transgender Discrimination Survey found that “78 percent of those who expressed a transgender identity or gender non-conformity while in grades K-12 reported harassment — harassment so severe it led 15 percent to leave school.”

The majority of the youth surveyed by HRC in 2014 reported they lacked a supportive family member to help them face the harassment and ostracizing at school.

One twentysomething transgender person told Religion News Service columnist Jonathan Merritt in 2013, that his growing up in the church was damaging. He felt he couldn’t talk to his parents or his pastor. Instead, the then-she, prayed God would help her become a boy.

Yet when Huckabee was asked about his cruel joke — a version of which he has told on a few occasions — he dismissed the query, saying, “Nobody ever asks me about it except the media. They’re the only ones who seem to be stirred up about it.” While attempting to indict journalists, Huckabee was in fact indicting those who surround him who he seems to be suggesting are indifferent to Christian unkindness toward transgender people.

Though Huckabee might believe that being transgender is sinful, that’s not a uniform position. Pat Robertson acknowledged in 2013 that “I think there are men who are in a woman’s body. It’s very rare, but it’s true. Or women that are in men’s bodies.” Robertson added, “I don’t think there’s any sin associated with” transitioning to the other gender.

The church should be the safest place in the world to discuss personal struggles. Huckabee could help make it so by saying two simple words: I’m sorry.

Overvalued Genitals and Undervalued Brains – A Trans Response to Christian Conservatives Uncomfortable with Caitlyn Jenner

The impact of Jenner’s debut has been nothing short of extraordinary. Media outlets that struggled to properly report on trans persons in police blotters just a few years ago are suddenly interested in the topic. “Ex-trans persons,” those few scattered across the country over many years, suddenly become resurrected. Christians of all stripes begin to weigh in directly, not simply flinging afterthoughts to their decades-long homophobia.

I’d like to address the response of the Christian conservatives. I had found it tantalizing during my years of advocacy in Maryland that some of those most opposed to gay rights and marriage equality were either supportive of trans persons or, at worst, apathetic. They wouldn’t support gender identity legislation, so as not to break with their anti-gay team which found the distinctions between and trans confusing, and thereby dangerous to consistency of message, but seeing trans as a medical condition they were surprisingly sympathetic.

Today, post-Jenner, with the surrender of many religious conservatives on the impending “redefinition of marriage,” they can no longer afford to treat trans persons as afterthoughts. We must be attacked head-on theologically. That, however, is proving to be rather difficult.

The most notorious transphobe, the Catholic Professor Paul McHugh, a decade ago accepted the reality of gender identity when his Hopkins colleague, Bill Reiner, proved its existence scientifically. While he still sees trans women as mentally ill, because he can’t unravel gender identity from sexual orientation, he’s been left behind by his fellow psychiatric colleagues who long ago, with few exceptions, gave up any religious underpinning to issues of sex and gender. The article referenced above with his most recent rant (pity poor Johns Hopkins University which can’t get this guy to stop from embarrassing them) actually had the temerity to state that ” there are scientists who disagree,” as if there are today more than a handful. McHugh is a classic example of a professor in over his head – a psychiatrist who doesn’t understand the basics of human sexuality recognized by all professional medical organizations, including the World Health Organization, and a Catholic fundamentalist who seems to have never studied ancient texts.

An American Catholic theologian, Salvatore Cordileone, the Archbishop of San Francisco, sums up his critique of transsexualism by stating, categorically, “The clear biological fact is that a human being is born either male or female. “End of story. However, there are traditions in ancient Biblical culture (Midrash Bereshit Rabbah 8:1) that had the first being as an intersex person, an hermaphrodite.

The Rabbis of 2000 years ago recognized six types of sex among humans – female, male, androgynous, tum tum, aylonit and saris -and the Torah (Isaiah 56:4-5), as well as later Christian Scripture, recognized eunuchs (saris, many of whom were either intersex or trans women) as a higher form of humanity. It’s very hard to pin your entire catalog of disapproval on one sentence in Deuteronomy, and those efforts pale in comparison to the concoction of millennia of homophobia rooted in one sentence in Leviticus.

So why this resistance? Even Biblical literalists must recognize there are many passages which conflict with the absolute pronouncements of a Cordileone or McHugh, who, by the way, was responsible for the Vatican’s pronouncement back when it was run by the right-wing Benedict. When they get down to it, they always revert to a view of biological sex as rooted in genitalia. But, as I’ve pointed out, religious authorities (and the Greeks before them) have for millennia recognized that sexual anatomy and physiology are not that simple.

This belief, that genitals = sex, has been so deeply rooted in society that intersex babies have been left to die or “converted” into vagina-bearing beings raised as girls once the surgical techniques allowed the condition of ambiguous genitalia to be resolved to the wishes of the parents. When modern medicine routinely considered the birth of an intersex infant to be a pediatric emergency, and hid the follow-up care in silence and obfuscation, it’s no wonder that the average individual can’t comprehend that we have minds that are sexed to the degree where we know what sex we are, irrespective of our genital anatomy. There are millions of intersex individuals whose chromosomes and genes don’t match their genitalia or whose genitals are ambiguous, and it seems clear that if they would only come out as gay and trans persons have over the past few decades, society would have a hard time ignoring the complexity of human sexuality.

It’s one thing to deny the embodied brain and its manifestation in a subjective feeling of gender identity, because that is a function of a theory of mind that as yet has few tangible physical manifestations. People’s difficulties coming to grips with all sorts of brain conditions and their mental and emotional manifestations makes that abundantly clear. But when presented with live humans with Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome or 5′-alpha reductase deficiency, it become impossible, short of a categorical denial of reality, to ignore the scientific evidence. Church leaders have been allowed for too long to evade the medical evidence.

Southern Baptists who talk of trans persons “rejecting your gender” misread the fact that trans people are doing the exact opposite – embracing their gender and their sex as embodied in their brains. Russell Moore, the head of the ethics arm of the Southern Baptist Convention, said, “The cultural narrative behind the transgender turn … is rooted in the ancient heresy of Gnosticism, with the idea that the ‘real’ self is separate from who one is as an embodied, material being.” Aside from the fact that few people care about “ancient heresies” in general or Gnosticism in particular, the core of the trans experience is indeed rooted in “an embodied, material being.” Just not in the overvalued genitals but in the undervalued brain.

At times it hard for me to accept that some men of religious persuasions are so intent to circle the wagons to maintain their hegemony and control over their womenfolk, and so afraid of a few hundred thousand trans women who are comfortable with being rid of an appendage that developed in opposition to their brain (because, if you bother to check, human sexual development in utero is a complex dance with many moves and, therefore, many outcomes). Acceptance of the trans experience will not lead to millions undergoing gender transition, just as the growth of same-sex marriage has not led to the catastrophic disappearance of opposite-sex marriage. If it’s led to anything novel, beyond the bourgeoisification of the gay experience, it’s the growth in gay divorces.

The Christian community is the victim of its forty-year tradition of equating every natural disaster with gay behavior, and imagining the worst possible outcome to every possible situation. Maybe that tradition derives from the Revelation stories, and so has a long and venerable history, but it’s a lousy way to live. Especially when it means driving your children to suicide or being in a state of high anxiety every time you enter a public bathroom.

I will take issue with Emma Green’s closing comment in The Atlantic piece: “The adjustment period on this issue will be complicated. And as the response to Caitlyn Jenner has shown, it’s only just beginning.” The adjustment period is at times complicated, but it has been going full throttle for the past 15 years. While few have been paying attention, science and medicine, academia, corporate America, the federal government, almost half of the state governments, and over 200 municipalities, many of which exist in red states, have been adjusting and doing so successfully. Cait Jenner just lifted the lid off the volcano; the pioneers have been at work for decades, and thanks to seemingly endless supplies of courage, tenacious advocacy and education, often against strong resistance and heavy odds, have made Jenner’s transition possible.

All that’s changed is that now, thanks to Jenner, “the whole world’s watching.”

French Girl Beauty Gets the Riviera Treatment at Christian Dior Resort

Dior Cruise 2016 Backstage Beauty

Paris might be the current home of French-girl cool, but it’s hot spots like Cannes, St. Tropez, and Nice that have long been destinations for bombshell beauty à la française. “It’s a legend that started with Brigitte Bardot,” said makeup artist Peter Philips backstage at Christian Dior’s resort show. “She came to the Côte d’Azur because it was the only place where she could be herself.”

Views of the French Riviera from the runway inside Pierre Cardin’s iconic bubble house today were awe-inspiring to say the least. And it’s no wonder that Philips mined the mythology of that storied landscape to complement Raf Simonss curvilinear collection. With skin that was touched with little more than the first blush of summer, the models had a luminous glow.

That barely-there effect was achieved with Dior’s Star Fluid foundation as a base and a light dusting of Skinflash highlighter along the temples, nose, and cheeks. The natural flush was amped up with a rosy pink cream blush and minimal eye makeup: a single stroke of liner along the bottom lid and a coat of Diorshow mascara applied solely at the root. Afterward, he followed with a swipe of the company’s clear brow gel along the entire lash. “It’s like putting conditioner in your hair,” said Philips of the trompe l’oeil effect. “It enhances the lashes without making them shiny.” A good dose of Dior’s Lip Maximizer in the newest shade of sunkissed was painted on to lips and then blotted just moments before the models took to the runway—the resulting pout had vacationing French movie star all over it.

As for those tousled south-of-France beach waves? The trick to getting them right, said hairstylist Guido Palau, was as simple as letting them air dry before going over them with a fine mist of Redken Diamond Oil Shatterproof High Shine spray. “It’s the epitome of easy, natural texture,” he said.

A Christian Oligarchy to Call Our Own

Over the past few months I have watched events in the LGBT community unfold with an increasing sense of unease. When I saw that Michael Signorile’s new book is entitled It’s Not Over: Getting Beyond Tolerance, Defeating Homophobia, and Winning True Equality, it helped crystallize what I have been sensing. What I have been sensing isn’t one thing: It is a series of interconnected issues that paint a deeply troubling picture of where we as a country are headed on LGBT issues for the foreseeable future.

1. The Rise of Christian Theocracy

When George Orwell wrote “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others,” he was satirizing the Bolshevik revolution. Today, we are seeing a new, Americanized version of this: “All religious beliefs are equal, but some are more equal than others.”

Fifty-seven percent of Republicans want to establish Christianity as our national religion. Only 30 percent were opposed. Conservative Representative Sam Johnson (R-TX) in the U.S. Congress believes there is no right to “freedom from religion,” and has introduced legislation to require “So help me God,” in the military’s oath of office. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia argued in an opinion last year that the Constitution favors religion over irreligion. Conservative hero and Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court Roy Moore believes the First Amendment only protects Christianity.

The kind of Christianity they want to protect isn’t the kinder, gentler version you’ll find in affirming churches. Those were long ago rendered moot in the cultural debate as apostates and outliers by the Christian right.

When Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) announced his candidacy for president at Liberty University, the message was clear: His is a candidacy on behalf of Evangelical Christians. Cruz’s father is very much a proponent of the idea that the United States was created by Christians to be a Christian nation. Polling reflects this: The Evangelicals Cruz is courting want all aspects of American life to be controlled by their Christian values. These values include an overt hostility to LGBT people.

Let there be no mistake: When Republicans are put in office, they have been put there by the people who want their brand Christianity to trump all other religious or secular outlooks, and they intend to make it so. More frightening is the fact that many of the corporate backers of these politicians want it too. Which brings us to:

2. Christian Oligarchy Is Ascendant

Several legal developments over the past few years are terrifying. With the Citizens United, the Supreme Court decided that businesses are people for the purposes of freedom of speech. With the Hobby Lobby case, corporations are people for the purposes of freedom of religion too. On top of this, last year researchers at Princeton University showed that the U.S. is already an oligarchy.

The disparity in power between a corporation and its employees is huge, and only widening. Now imagine they have both the ability to enforce their religious beliefs on its employees and control the government.

Only, you don’t have to imagine, because we’re already there. While fewer and fewer Americans identify with any given religion, a small sub-set of conservative religious ideas, people and businesses are being given greater and greater power over other Americans based solely on their religious beliefs.

Which is pretty much the definition of an oligarchy.

3. Special Religious Exemptions to Laws Enjoy Popular Support

Indiana has just passed the most sweeping Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) expansion to date, following in the footsteps of bastions of civil rights like Mississippi. Arkansas, Texas, and others are poised to do the same. What many people are missing in this law is that the RFRA explicitly acknowledges a right for corporations to discriminate.

Most voters probably do not realize these special religious exemptions to following the law, or even basic decency go far beyond simply florists or bakers: These RFRA expansions grant the right to deny virtually any service to anyone for any reason as long as there is a claim of religious belief behind it. This includes vital services including doctors and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs).

We are again a divided country, where over half the nation believes, and will have the right to say, “We don’t serve your kind here.” Worse yet, we have learned nothing from the legacy of the civil rights movement. Fifty-seven percent of Americans believe that businesses should have the right to deny goods and services to lesbians and gays.

Even if that right to deny of service ends up being EMTs who point, and laugh, and do nothing to save a transgender woman bleeding to death in the middle of the street.

4. This Isn’t Even Close to a Fair Fight

Christians are free to discriminate against LGBT people because we do not have much in the way of legal protections, and what little we have are being stripped away. Conversely, LGBT people and our allies cannot legally discriminate against our Christian tormentors. While religion is specifically protected by both the Constitution and the 1964 Civil Rights act, sexual orientation and gender identity do not enjoy any similar protections.

We are fighting this one with both hands tied behind our backs.

(While some argue that transgender people are fully protected by the 1964 Civil Rights Act under the classification of sex, it only actually works out that way if you’re a transgender person with the means to file a federal lawsuit, and living in a Circuit Court district with favorable controlling case law.)

5. We Won’t Be Gaining Those Federal Protections Anytime Soon

When the Employment Non-Discrimination Act spun in (again) last year because the religious exemptions were too large, what emerged was a proposal to add sexual orientation and gender identity to the 1964 Civil Rights Act, or to craft similar legislation from scratch. Such legislation will not happen, however.

LGBT people will not accept legislation with a religious exemption that allows fundamentalist Christians (and their businesses) to conveniently ignore everything in the bill. Republicans will not let such a bill pass without said exemptions. The composition of the House won’t change much (due to gerrymandering) until at least the 2022 election.

It doesn’t matter how well protections for LGBT people poll. Support for more thorough background checks on people who purchase guns consistently polls at about 90 percent, but it isn’t enough to actually get anything through Congress either.

6. This Is Part of a Coordinated Legislative Strategy

The Republican efforts represent a three pronged approach to making their parts of the U.S. as unlivable as possible for LGBT people without actually singling out LGBT people, and violating Romer v. Evans or Lawrence v. Texas. The first are RFRAs. The second is nullifying local non-discrimination ordinances at the state level. Finally, bathroom bills, are easily the most naked attempt at driving transgender people out of their respective states.

7. History Says We Won’t See the End of This in Our Lifetimes

There was a 99-year gap between the end of the Civil War and the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Racism is still alive and well 51 years after that. Is there any reason to believe homophobia and transphobia will die any faster?

A more pressing question, though, is what sort of country will come from the rising of the Christian oligarchy we are witnessing today?

The Republic of Gilead comes to mind.

Christian Combs Says Him & His Brothers Are The Real Empire?

Photo Via Christian’s Instagram

Cryptic or Nah? Remember there recently was a rumor going around that Diddy was allegedly suing Empire because it somehow was based on his life. The rumor sparked a lot of interesting questions like did Puffy kill BIG, was Bad Boy funded by drug money, and which one of Diddy’s sons would be gay. Just a lot of laughs really. Well recently Christian Combs, Diddy’s youngest son, took to his Instagram to post a picture of him and his brothers with the caption “Empire”. This brought out some funny comments such as “So Quincy is crazy, Justin is gay, and you the rapper.” At least these guys are living the real “Empire” Life though. What are your thoughts?

Why Christian Single Ladies Can’t Find Their Boaz!

A big cry among single ladies, is, “there are no single guys at my church.” There are other single ladies, who say, “I want a good, christian man, who believes in waiting until marriage for intimacy.” Some ladies say, “It’s very hard to find a quality guy with very good godly principles”. The story of Ruth is a reminder that God never gives up, nor leaves a single woman alone. In fact God is a God of second chances. God desires for us to see Ruth and Boaz’s union as an example.
