Live for the Endless Summer with Huckberry and Wellen

If the warmer weather has you jonesing for bonfires on the beach, being the first one in the water, and cruising the PCH at night with the windows open (and the heater on!), Huckberry has a new line of surf-inspired gear that’s just right for summer. Made from a blend of hemp and organic cotton, Wellen is just what you need to bring out the endless summer vibes. Even if the water’s still too cold for the spring suit.

From cozy T-shirts and laid-back polos to jeans that feel as soft as the sand at Trestles, Wellen partners with responsible factories around the world to craft soft, sustainable essentials for sun and swell. There’s nothing fancy here—just amazing beachwear that you’ll want to live in all summer long.

What’s New With Wellen?

Start with the jeans. The soft denim construction is perfect—not too tight, but snug enough to look great when you go from the sand to the bar. They come in three distinct washes: a washed out fade that’s perfect for chilly nights on the sand, a medium rinse that’s sharp enough to wear into work, and a sharp dark denim that’s somehow just as soft and comfortable as the more worn-in looking rinses. They’re $ 88, which is a fantastic price point for sustainable denim.

The Stretch Chore Coat ($ 128) is the perfect post-sun layer. A shirt-jacket with plenty of pockets and a touch of stretch to move with you, it’s available in navy, denim, or dark khaki colorways. Layer it over one of the three colorways of the Hemp Crewneck ($ 68), a cozy sweatshirt that goes with anything and keeps you warm around the bonfire. Those same three colors adorn the Hemp Zip Hoodie ($ 88).

For shirts, the long-sleeved Hemp Henley ($ 58) our new favorite evening go-to. With a generous collar and snug-but-not-tight fit, it comes in four colors: navy, turquoise, white, and dark khaki. The Hemp Polo ($ 58) might be the most comfortable polo shirt we’ve ever worn. With forgiving sleeves that never get anywhere close to the elbow and that soft cotton/hemp combo, it’s fit for the office and even better on the golf course. It comes in black, off-white, rust, and blue.

And then there are the T-shirts. We know we said the polo was the most comfortable one we’ve ever worn, but we really mean it this time. The Hemp Tee ($ 36) shirt simply rules, and it fits as good as it feels. It comes in off-white, turquoise, bright white, and navy.

Are you ready for an endless summer? Get over to Huckberry today, and check out Wellen surf-inspired gear. We can practically smell the salt in the air.

Endless Summer: Prolong the Warm-Weather Feeling With 4 Surf-Inspired Brands

surf brands

Summer Fridays, weekends out East, rooftop bars—whatever you’re pouring one out for as the season draws to a close, chances are a little well-placed retail therapy (and hell, maybe pouring one, too) will go a long way in assuaging the pain. This fall we’ll be looking to a handful of surf-inspired brands that are giving good vibes year-round, right on the money with fashion’s current yen for right-on beach vibes. (Hedi, we’re looking at you.) Less about hard-core performance and more about vintage-inspired appeal, these labels are serving up enough sunny stuff to carry you into the new season without too much anguish—rash guard optional.

8 Perfumes to Heat Up and Cool Down Your Endless Summer

ellen von unwerth vogue may 1994

There are two schools of thought for coping with sweltering summer temperatures—embracing the heat or fighting it with cooldown tactics, especially when it comes to choosing your signature fragrance. Whether heading out for Saturday brunch or a seaside picnic, the right perfume sets the tone for the hours that follow. “The seasons have a profound effect on us,” says British perfumer Roja Dove, who has found that a few simple principles will guide you toward a scent that suits your humidity goals.

To relax into a warm weather mindset, “white florals work beautifully [because] this is [the climate in which] the blooms release their most intoxicating scent,” Dove says, pointing to the island origins of ylang-ylang and jasmine. He suggests stepping into a cloud of Tom Ford’s citrus-infused Neroli Portofino, while Terry de Gunzburg’s Parti Pris smells of blooms “nestled on a bed of woody balsamic notes”—a combination he finds evocative of “skin warmed in the sun on the beach.”

For those who never loose their cool—and don’t plan on starting now—notes of zesty citrus, clean florals (including hyacinth, freesia, rose, and lily of the valley), and garden herbs are the most refreshing. Like a long swim in the sea, crisp scents like Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s Aqua Universalis relieve temperature-induced fatigue, but Dove also suggests finding sanctuary in Atelier Flou’s orange-infused Eau d’Aviateur and Chanel’s green and powdery No. 19. Better yet, both fragrances will continue to channel the spirit of summer well after Labor Day. With that in mind, we’ve asked Dove for his take on the best perfumes for navigating a heat wave and beyond.

The New InstaBabes: 6 Accounts, Endless Beauty Inspiration

Photo: Courtesy of Melodie Monrose / @melodiemonrose

Instagram has evolved into as much of an application for beauty inspiration as it is for distraction—making scrolling through its endless images a necessary enterprise in the office and beyond. Perhaps it’s hair chameleon Grimes who grabs your attention, making a case for a devil-may-care attitude in regard to ever-changing updos and dye jobs. It’s an approach echoed by Parisian model turned Le Tricycle food cart owner Coralie Jouhier, who offers as much hairspiration as she does recipe ideas, flaunting her natural texture in an aspirational amber reminiscent of beach bonfires, along with mouthwatering fruit- and vegetable-driven dishes.

Sandy Hullett—assistant to backstage hairstylist Guido Palau—snaps pre-runway shots at Céline and Dior, to name a few, showcasing 360-degree views of the season’s most directional styles. Retro Venice Beach vibes are best conjured by Nico Guilis, a makeup artist turned photographer who posts casual snaps of her impressive roster of celebrity It girls—Poppy Delevingne, Dree Hemingway, Ashley Benson—and their covetable blush, eye shadow, and lip gloss under the handle @findyourcalifornia. And model Melodie Monrose is a master of nonchalant ocean-bound braids and enviable getaway selfies, eliciting an impulsive urge to hop on a plane in favor of some poolside R and R. Is it Saturday yet?
