The future of gaming has officially launched… on Samsung’s flagship smartphone, that is.

On Tuesday (Sept.15), Microsoft’s cloud gaming service Xbox Game Pass Ultimate officially exited the beta mode and is now available in the Samsung Galaxy store. The new service allows gamers to play 100 games on either their Samsung Galaxy Note20, Note20 Ultra, or Galaxy Tab S7.

Samsung also announced it will be offering consumers an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Bundle when they purchase a Galaxy Note20 (or qualifying Samsung Galaxy device) as well as the MOGA Bluetooth Controller. Consumers will get a 3-month subscription, but you will have to move fast because Samsung is only offering the bundle for a limited time.

We got a chance to experience Xbox Game Pass Ultimate while it was still in the beta phase, and we must say it worked smoothly on the Galaxy Note20 Ultra.

We even spoke with professional Fortnite streamer, Myth, and he is all-in with the new way to play Triple-A Xbox titles.

“I remember just thinking to myself like, “Is this real?” (laughs). Because I couldn’t, I didn’t, it was hard for me to imagine trying to tell my 10-year-old or 12-year-old self exactly what I’m doing right now. Like I don’t think past me would believe in what exactly is going on. So, that’s how I felt about it, if I had to go back a few years and explain to a younger version of me how you’re able to play games nowadays, I just straight up wouldn’t believe you. I’d be like, “Yeah, okay, bro, cut it out. Like, you’re joking. You’re joking, right? Like, I could play years on my- on my phone, yeah, on my couch, or on my bed, maybe while I’m using the bathroom?”

We share that same excitement with Myth because this will be a gamechanger in the mobile gaming world. Samsung’s partnership with Microsoft gives the Korean tech company a clear advantage in that department over Apple, which only has Apple Arcade to offer to iPhone owners.

Will you be subscribing to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate? Let us know in the comment section below.

HHW Gaming: Superman Is Task Force X’s “Alpha Target” In Rocksteady’s ‘Suicide Squad’ Game

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League

Source: WB Games / Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League

There were plenty of big announcements during the first-ever DC FanDome virtual event, but it’s safe to assume Rocksteady Studio’s Suicide Squad game was one of the biggest.

Fans waited all-day honestly to see what Rocksteady Studios has been cooking up in the lab for five years since Batman: Arkham Knight. Unlike WB Games Montreal’s Gotham Knights, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League does, in fact, continue the Arkham series. Here is what else we know about the highly-anticipated game.

You will control only four members of the ragtag team of DC supervillains brought together by Amanda Waller to do the dirty work law enforcement can’t do like keep metahumans in check. Players can look forward to playing with Harley Quinn, Deadshot, King Shark, and Captain Boomerang. In the teaser, we see that Gotham City has been taken over by the evil supercomputer Brainiac which we assume is one of the game’s villains.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League

BUT we quickly learn that Brainiac isn’t Task Force X’s “alpha target.” When Superman shows up on the scene and seemingly saves a helicopter pilot, things go left quickly when Big Blue zaps the pilot with his heat vision, and the team learns who they have to take out, and it won’t be no small task either.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League

As far as how the game will play, it will stay true to Rocksteady’s Batman game’s mechanics but will add-in some new features. Thanks to each character’s abilities like Deadshot’s jetpack, Harley Quinn’s bat, Captain Boomerangs… boomerangs duh, and King Sharks brute strength.

Oh, and the game will have coop play allowing players to take control of each character. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to play Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League until 2022, BUT we will be well into the next-generation phase of gaming with PS5 and Xbox Series X. You can watch the teaser trailer for the game below.

HHW Gaming: EA Announces ‘UFC 4’ Will Be Superman Punching Its Way Onto PS4 & Xbox One In August

Source: EA / UFC 4

You won’t need to fly to “fight island” to get in on this UFC action.

EA literally announced UFC 4 hours ahead of UFC’s biggest pandemic pay-per-view, UFC 251 taking place Sunday morning (Saturday in the states) on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates which has been dubbed “fight island.” The cover of the game features current UFC middleweight champion Israel “The Last Stylebender” Adesanya and Welterweight contender Jorge “Gamebred” Masvidal who happens to be on the UFC 251’s card. Masvidal was a late sub for Gilbert Burns after he tested positive for COVID-19.

So what’s new in UFC 4? Well, fans of the mixed-martial-arts game franchise will be happy to learn one the game’s biggest problems have been fixed. Players have complained constantly that the control schemes in UFC were “too complicated” especially when it comes to grappling and executing submissions. In UFC 4 to pull off basic and quick strikes all you have to do now is tap a button.  For more powerful and “flashy” strikes just simply hold down the assigned button to pull off the desired attack. You can also now enter a grapple and attempt takedowns by using buttons instead of the analog sticks as in previous UFC titles.

Source: EA / UFC 4

EA Vancouver is also introducing ‘Integrated Real Player Motion Technology’ for takedowns and clinch submissions that will allow for fluid animations for transitions and movements that will make things easier for players. As far as grappling controls, there is a new left-stick scheme that makes the game enjoyable for newcomers to the franchise. Players can either simply push up to get up, push left to begin a submission, and right to mount your opponent deliver devastating blows.

That’s not all. The popular Career Mode returns with some upgrades, of course. UFC recognized that fans loved the mode, so in this year’s installment, players will be instantly launched into their virtual careers partaking in 4 amateur fights serving as an “onboarding experience” introducing players to the four fighting styles boxing, kickboxing, wrestling, and jujitsu. Like in UFC 3, training is still vital in building up your created character. Gone are the mini-games, now you can earn points to boost your fighter’s attributes by just simply fighting and sparring. Also, if you have a particular move you favor, the more you use it, the better it becomes.

Source: EA / UFC 4

You will also now have the ability to decline fights, which do come with consequences in your career, so choose wisely.  There is now a full World Fighting Alliance minor league, which you can opt to fight in as long as you want before you decide to make that leap to the UFC.

Other new features include fighting in Backyard and Kumite environments, bonus fighters, heavyweight champion boxers Tyson Fury, and Anthony Joshua come as a pre-order bonus. Martial Arts legend Bruce Lee also returns in UFC 4.

UFC 4 arrives on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One Friday, August 14, no word if the game will be able to be upgraded to PS5 and Xbox Series X. You can watch the launch trailer below.

HHW Gaming: Tyler “Ninja” Blevins Moving His Stream To YouTube Gaming

Tyler "Ninja" Blevins Drops First 'Fortnite' Stream On YouTube Gaming

Source: NurPhoto / Getty

Accidental N-word user and popular professional video game streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins has found a new home to stream.

Following Microsoft’s surprise decision ditch its streaming platform, Mixer allowing it to be absorbed by Facebook Gaming, which left streamers like Ninja,  Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek and Soleil “Ewok” Wheeler as free agents. Today (Jul.8), Blevins made it clear that YouTube Gaming will be the premier destination to catch his streams. Ninja teased his followers ahead of the reveal with a tweet before he kicked off a Fortnite stream featuring  Dr. Lupo, TimTheTatman, and Courage. The stream which took place 5 hours ago has been viewed by nearly 2 million people already.

Ninja shocked the world when he decided to ditch Twitch back in August 2019, taking his massive fan base with him to Mixer. Unfortunately, the move to Mixer did not mean more eyes on his streams as his viewership did take a significant hit. BUT what he lost in viewers, he did gain in cultural presence. Not long after heading over to Mixer, Ninja secured his groundbreaking deal with adidas and also became the first streamer to have his own Fortnite skin. He was also the highest-paid video gamer in 2019.

As for his deal with YouTube Gaming, no details have been revealed yet, and there is no indication that it is an exclusive partnership with the Google-owned platform.

HHW Gaming: All Cop Cars Quietly Removed From ‘Fortnite,’ Source Says It Wasn’t A Political Move

Epic Games Remove All Cop Cars From 'Fortnite'

Source:  Epic Games/ Nick Chester

The video game community hit the pause button in support of the civil unrest sweeping the nation in the wake of the fatal arrest of George Floyd. Epic Games also quietly made a move in its game Fortnite in the wake of the protests.

Players have noticed that all of the police-related vehicles in the game that include cop cars and SWAT vans are now gone. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that a source at Epic Games claims the move wasn’t a political one but instead believes:

“It’s just us being sensitive about the issues many people in our audience are dealing with.”

The cars didn’t affect gameplay at all, plus they were not even driveable and just served as decoration for the game’s map. Of course, some gamers are not feeling Epic’s decision to remove the cop vehicles. One Twitter user called people “soft” for the decision.

Add this person to the long list of people big mad that video game studios recognized the sensitivity of the times and decided to stand with Black video game players in solidarity.

As far as Epic Games is concerned, while not speaking publicly about events that followed the tragic death of George Floyd, the studio at the time did delay the launch of season 3 and issued a statement.

Recent events are a heavy reminder of ongoing injustices in society, from the denial of basic human rights to the impact of racism both overt and subtle against people of color. We’re acutely aware of the pain our friends, families, team members, players, and communities are experiencing.

We believe in equality and justice, diversity and inclusion, and that these fundamentals are above politics.

The team is eager to move Fortnite forward, but we need to balance the Season 3 launch with time for the team to focus on themselves, their families, and their communities.

We think the Fortnite players complaining about the lack of unusable cop cars in the game will be fine.

HHW Gaming: Insomniac Games Drops Even More Details On ‘Marvel’s Spider-Man: Mile Morales’

'Spider-Man: Miles Morales' Will Be As Big As 'Uncharted: Lost Legacy'

Source: Insomniac Games / PlayStation

There were many games shown during Sony’s big PS5 reveal event, but Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales stole the show. Now we are getting even more details about the highly anticipated game.

We already know that when Miles Morales finally dons the infamous black and red Spider-Man costume and swings into action the PS5, it won’t be an add-on but his own stand-alone adventure. Today (Jun.18) on PlayStation’s blog, Brian Horton, Creative Director at Insomniac Games, dropped even more juicy tidbits about the studio’s upcoming PlayStation 5 exclusive.

In the post, Horton revealed the studio loved the character, Miles Morales, for a “very long time” and that Marvel’s Spider-Man creative director Bryan Intihar suggested years ago that Miles should be in the same universe as Peter Parker.

“As we continued with the Marvel’s Spider-Man universe, we knew that Miles’s origin story as a Spider-Man was something that needed its own game. Miles’s multicultural background reflects a more modern, diverse world, and we wanted to give players a new story, with new set-pieces, fresh villains, and unique quests across Marvel’s New York City. This had to be a can’t-miss next adventure in the Marvel’s Spider-Man universe.”

Spider-Man: Miles Morales

The game’s timeline and some of the plot was also revealed, placing it a year after the events of Marvel’s Spider-Man.

“Let’s set the scene for the game a little more. It’s now wintertime, about a year after the events of the first game. Marvel’s New York is covered in snow, and just before Christmas break, a war between an energy corporation and a high-tech criminal army has broken out. Miles’s new home in Harlem is at the heart of the battle.”

Horton even touched on the size of the game, comparing it to Naughty Dog’s fantastic women-led Uncharted: The Lost Legacy “in terms of scope.” The team has been working hard on Miles Morale’s story since wrapping up the development of Marvel’s Spider-Man. Horton promises that fans can expect a full story arc when they press start and begin Mile’s journey.

The game will also show off the full power of the PS5. Players can look forward to instant loading, ray-tracing, 3D audio, and the DualSense controller. The character models in the PS4’s Marvel’s Spider-Man were already stunning, Horton details the characters will look even better thanks to “4D scans and improved skin shading for more realistic looking characters and spline-based hair that moves far more naturally.”

Last but certainly not least, Horton also revealed to fans worried about Peter Parker that he is okay and that his adventure will continue “still have much of Peter’s story left to tell.” Horton made sure to point out that this game is “all about Miles” and that his story is “a critical part of our Spider-Man universe, and you won’t want to miss what happens.”

We can’t wait to play when the game drop along with the PS5 holiday 2020 or according to the Amazon leak in November.

HHW Gaming Review: ‘Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath” Gives NetherRealm’s Fighter Some New Energy

'Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath' Review

Source: Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath / WB Games

It’s been more than a year since Mortal Kombat 11 was first released, and to give arguably the best fighting game of 2019 some new legs going into 2020 Aftermath has arrived.

Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath revigorates the fighting game by adding new stages, significant balance changes, Friendships for other characters, stage fatalities, and more.

'Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath' Review

Source: WB Games / NetherRealm Studios

The best part about all of that, you get to enjoy all of those enhancements for free99.

'Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath' Review

Source: Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath / WB Games

BUT if you want to play the three-hour expansion to MK11’s single-player story mode or issue fades with Sheeva, Fujin, and of course, RoboCop it’s going to cost you… $ 40 to be exact.

'Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath' Review

Source: Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath / WB Games

But is it worth it?

The campaign picks right up where it ended in Mortal Kombat 11 and takes us a time-heist to save to time itself but with another twist. While the story is very predictable, it is very enjoyable as it brings back all of the all the game characters minus the guests. Shang Tsung, who is played by actor Cary Hiroyuki Tagawa who not only steals souls in the game but also every damn scene he is in. Outside of that, it’s just enjoyable filler, but it’s quite interesting that Sonya Blade doesn’t have one single line outside of a grunt. I’m just gonna assume Ronda Rousey was too busy to record additional voiceover work.

'Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath' Review

Source: Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath / WB Games

Again, outside of some eyebrow-raising moments, helping the unlikely team of Shang Tsung, Nightwolf and Fujin go back in time and secure Kronika’s crown to restore time does manage to keep your attention for 3-hours.

The Aftermath expansion though, if we are keeping it a buck, is an expensive character pack. We all just wanted to get hands-on with the new characters Sheeva, Fujin, and RoboCop, and for the most part, they each offer unique playstyles for gamers to experience.

Fujin, the God of Wind and brother of Raiden, makes his return to the Mortal Kombat arena. He hasn’t been a playable character since Mortal Kombat: Armageddon 14 years ago.

'Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath' Review

Source: WB Games / NetherRealm Studios

Once selected, you will find that he is quick and the most unique character out the three. His ability to literally run on-air, fast attacks, and unusual special moves make Fujin a fun character to master.

Now sadly, the same can’t be said about RoboCop is the standout character out of the three. Once selected, outside of all of the neat touches like Peter Weller’s voice and likeness and the callbacks to the classic film, he’s a pretty dull character. His attacks don’t really impress, but if you like characters who are “zoners,” then RoboCop is your man. But then again, this is Mortal Kombat, why would you want to kill your enemies from a distance?

'Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath' Review

Source: NetherRealm Studios / WB Games

I was also pleasantly surprised with Sheeva, who is an absolute bruiser but is but can also cover ground quickly thanks to her trusty teleport stomp. Sheeva was last playable in Mortal Kombat 9 in 2011, and now she is back with a vengeance. Immediately you will notice that her combos are bone-crushing and when perfectly time with her grabs absolutely devastating. I can definitely see Sheeva being a new favorite among players going forward.

'Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath' Review

Source: NetherRealm Studios / WB Games

Final Verdict

Honestly, while the story expansion is substantial and three new fighters, even with RoboCop, who is meh, they are a  welcomed addition to the game. But at the price of $ 40, NetherRealm could have honestly just found a way to separate the two because the price tag is hefty for Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath. Not sure if NetherRealm thought they were offering fans a brand new game with Aftermath like, for example, Destiny 2’s massive Forsaken expansion. It sure doesn’t feel that way once you experienced everything.

Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath is a solid expansion for the hardcore fans of the franchise, I understand if some folks might wince at the $ 40 price tag, which makes it a hard recommendation for everyone.

HHW Gaming: It’s Happening, Sony Confirms PlayStation 5 Event That Will Focus On Soley Games

Sony Announces PS5 Games Reveal Event Is Happening June 4

Source: Sony / PlayStation 5

It’s happening, it’s really happening. PlayStation has confirmed that the long-rumored PS5 June event will take place.

Next week Sony will be giving eager gamers a “look at the future of gaming,” the company announced on both Twitter and its official blog. President & CEO, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Jim Ryan, gave PlayStation fans something to look forward to saying, “The games coming to PS5 represent the best in the industry from innovative studios that span the globe.”

Ryan also pointed out in the statement that the games will come from studios “newer and older,” “larger and smaller,” and will “showcase the potential of the hardware.”

He further added that the lack of physical events due to COVID-19 gives his company an “amazing opportunity to think differently,” while also promising it will bring gamers “closer than ever before.” While there is no clear indication that we will get to see the PS5 console, he made sure to point out that the upcoming event “is part of our series of PS5 updates and, rest assured, after next week’s showcase, we will still have much to share with you.”

So it’s evident that Sony will be stretching this out till the PS5’s holiday 2020 release.

As to what games we can expect to see, speculations range from a sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn, Final Fantasy 7 Remake to confirmed titles like Godfall, Fortnite, and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

We will just have to wait and see June 4 at 1:00 PDT. Be sure to check back with us for our recap and reactions to the PS5 games reveal event.
