Tkees Opens Miami Store, More in Works

With its flip-flops already on feet all over Miami, Tkees chose the endless-summer city to roll out retail. The decade-old, Brazilian brand opened a 700-square-foot boutique in the Miami Design District on Feb. 22; locations in New York and Los Angeles are slated by year’s end. In addition to women’s and children’s footwear and women’s apparel, which launched in 2019, the all-shoppable concept extends to husband-and-wife founders Carly and Jesse Burnett’s selection of home decor and art.
“We wanted the store to be more than a white box. We wanted it to take you somewhere,” said Jesse of expanding into brick-and-mortar after building a wholesale business that currently hovers around 600 accounts. “Even saying the word retail feels dangerous now, but retail’s not dead — boring retail is dead.”
Rather than see it as risky, he said well-rounded business models need to embrace all channels. Tkees fared well in the e-commerce transition, with digital multibrand stores and department stores’ online divisions accounting for 60 percent of its wholesale business. Miami ranks in its top three markets for e-commerce, and Tkees’s web site has only been a boon for wholesale partners.
The Miami boutique’s design matches the brand’s minimal ethos and muted palette. The

Loud Records 25th Anniversary Concert

Almost three decades in the game and Fat Joe still got that flavor that Adobo seasoning can put in a bottle and make even more bank off of.

Fresh off his 12th studio album in 26 years, Family Ties, Joey Crack comes through with the visuals for the Bryson Tiller and Jeremih assisted “Put Hands On You” where Joe celebrates life at a Miami club like a Don before walking out in the spiffy pair of Air Jordan IV “UNC” player exclusives. You know jealous sneakerheads gonna be envying like a muthaf*cka.

On a softer, yet harder note, Jhené Aiko looks like a dream come true as she floats around an enchanted forest with a wand and wings for her clip to “P*$ $ Y Fairy.” Imagine there was such a thing? Dudes would be putting any and everything under their pillows just waiting for one to show up.

Kodak Black might be going the struggle behind bars at the moment but his team knows the show must go on especially if he wants to remain a topic of discussion in an era where fans have short memories.

In his visuals to “Because Of You” Kodak Black shows off the many aspects of his lavish life including iced out chest plates, big boy toys, and a mansion with the fancy pool. Young M.A don’t know what she missing out on (we kid we kid! Don’t sic your wolves on us, Ma).

Wiz Khalifa’s love affair with Mary Jane is the stuff of Cheech & Chong legends and if y’all think we exaggerating, peep his latest video.

For his new clip to “Smokin’ Section,” Wiz rolls it up, lights it up, smokes it up, inhales and exhales some earth magic while lamping in the studio and spittin’ over Common’s “6th Sense” instrumental.

Lil Duval meanwhile shows and proves that his best life continues to live on as he’s laid up in a bed with a gang of lingerie rockin’ women in his Jacquees and Tank featured visuals to “Nasty.” Son was squeezin’ on a shorty’s booty with his feet. Good things his toenails were clipped.

It seems like it was destined to happen sooner than it has but finally the Migos, Young Thug and Travis Scott are at last occupying the same space for a new music video… kinda.

For their collaboration visuals to “Give No Fxk,” Thugga, Migos and Travis Scott take an empty warehouse and turn it into their own playground complete with two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and rump shakers. Yes, it was a lot of CGI but it still seemed lit in there.

Back in New York Young M.A gets into the Valentines Day spirit and spends quality time with wifey while telling her how she really feels in her clip for “She Like I’m Like.”

Trinidad Jame$ “Jame$ Woo Woo,” Jacquees “Round 2” & More | Daily Visuals 2.12.20

For a minute there it seemed like Trinidad Jame$ was ascending to the top of rap popularity when he dropped his hit “All Gold Everything,” but then NYC OG Mysonne G-checked the Trinidad for speaking ill of New York and we ain’t heard much from him since.

Nevertheless, the ATLien is still on his rap grizzly and returns with some new work in “Jame$ Woo Woo” in which he channels the spirit of the late-great James Brown and puts on a show worthy of the Apollo… in the 60’s. The Sandman would’ve came for him had this been a few decades later. Just sayin.’

We don’t know about y’all but we love it when some Hip-Hop OG’s get together and lay it down one time for the hardcore.

This time around some D.I.T.C. alumni reunite as Diamond D links up with former teammate Fat Joe and recruit Raekwon and Fred The Godson for his visuals to “Survive or Die” in which D catches up with the aforementioned rappers in different parts of New York. Of course you know Fat Joe was in a sneaker shop.

It’s been a rather drama filled last few weeks for Meek Mill. From getting into it with Nicki Minaj and her hubby while shopping to continuing their war of words on social media, it’s been crazy for the Philly representative to say the least.

Still, Meek has officially moved on and gotten back on his grizzly. Today the Dream Chasin’ head honcho comes through with his new clip for the Justin Timberlake assisted “Believe” which depicts the struggle a family goes through when a loved one is locked up.

Lil Nas X really took the music world by storm last year with his surprise country hit “Old Town Road,” and today the new school artist links up with a Hip-Hop OG from where his name might derived.

Rick Ross ft. Summer Walker “Summer Reign,” Yo Gotti “H.O.E. (Heaven On Earth)” & More | Daily Visuals 1.23.20

Since coming into the game Rick Ross has been considered one of the rap game’s hardest rappers and though he comes off as married to “the life,” it looks like Rozay may be looking to settle down for real.

For his Summer Walker assisted visuals to “Summer Reign,” the Bawse lets a thick young woman into his life on onto his property where he proceeds to woo her off her feet with the lavish lifestyle and promises of picking out his casket when it’s all said and done. We bet he won’t let her rock any exclusive sneakers from his collection though. No true sneakerhead would let their love go THAT far.

On the other side of the South, Yo Gotti seems inspired by 2020 being election year and in his clip to “H.O.E. (Heaven On Earth)” rocks a red “Make The Hood Great Again” hat while taking questions from the press. We need that hat.

Jay-Z might’ve had a hand in deading the whole auto-tune movement of yesteryear, but it looks like his ROC Nation artist, Casanova is experimenting with the technique that made T-Pain a household name.

In his Young Thug and Gunna assisted visuals to “So Drippy,” the Brooklyn rapper gets his harmony on via the audio processor while in a club where the women seem to outnumber the men 10 to 1. Promising odds for any man not named Tekashi 6ix9ine these days.

And the rapper with the top selling album in the game today, Roddy Rich, continues to ride his wave of success with a new clip to “Boom Boom Boom” which finds him turning up after surviving a car accident. Seems about right.

Most people go to the gym to achieve that physical degree that they see on TV, but if you ain’t got the time just throw on a costume. It’s the same, right?

Probably not, but that isn’t keeping Rick The Kid and Quavo from getting fake ripped in their comedic clip for “That’s Tuff” where the two hit the gym to get in shape only to see they don’t stack up to seasoned bodybuilders. So they do the next best thing and throw on some muscle suits and flex for the hardcore.

For the visuals to “Wu Tang Remix,” China Mac and M-E-T-H-O-D Man get together at an underground fight club to drop bars with C-Mac sporting that old school white eye contact lens that Method made famous.

From the old school to the new, BlocBoy JB has no qualms about showing his loyalty to the boys in blue (not the police) and takes a break from filling up his tank at the gas station to let everyone know what’s hood in the clip for “Still Crippin.”

Boosie Badazz ft. Mulatto “Nasty Nasty,” Tinashe “Stormy Weather” & More | Daily Visuals 12.27.19

A few years ago Boosie Badazz became one of the few rappers in the game to beat cancer so whenever we see him rubbing up on all the bare booties in his videos, we can’t help but smile for him.

In his Mulatto assisted visuals for “Nasty Nasty” that’s exactly what happens as Boosie is joined in a Jacuzzi by many thong wearing young women whose backsides get rubbed down to the point we kinda expected a genie to pop out of someone.

Tinashe on the other hand gets her artistry on and in her black-and-white clip to “Stormy Weather” enlists a team of dancers to perform a choreographed routine that we’re sure means something, but we can’t quite decipher.

Lil Durk “Blika Blika,” Layzie Bone ft. Johnny P. “Lost & Found” & More | Daily Visuals 12.11.19

Believe it or not there was once a time when black lights in Hip-Hop videos was considered the sh*t and though that practice has fallen to the sidelines in the past few years (ok, decades), it looks like the almighty fluorescent illumination may be making a comeback.

For Lil Durk’s latest visuals to “Blika Blika,” the Chicago rapper goes dark zero thirty with it and utilizes some black bulbs to shine in the shadows with some bright as day attire.

Keeping the vibe in the Midwest, Cleveland’s own Hip-Hop OG Layzie Bone finds life after his Bone Thuggin’ days and in his clip to the Johnny P. assisted “Lost & Found” seems to be at peace with the life he’s lived while lamping in his luxurious home.

While the folks in Kansas City voted to remove Martin Luther King Jr’s name from one of their streets, others are proud to have the name of the iconic civil rights leader held high on their grounds, and Jeezy seems to feel the same way.

Linking up with current social justice soldier Meek Mill for his visuals to “MLK BLVD,” Jeezy pays homage to MLK, Malcolm X and Rosa Parks in his own Snowman way while proudly stating “F*ck Trump!” We think it goes without saying Jeezy’s welcomed to every YG show from here on out.

Royce 5’9 meanwhile throws a cultural themed soiree that would scare the bejesus out of those same Kansas City residents who didn’t want MLK’s name in their neighborhood in his Sy Ari Da Kid, White Gold, Cyhi The Prince and T.I. assisted clip to “Black Savage.”

In his Anderson .Paak assisted visuals to “Stainless,” Chuck Taylor pulls out a spiffy blue Lambo with Nipsey Hussle’s face painted on the hood and whips it through the California night before re-enacting the photo shoot for his first album. That Lambo with Nipsey’s grill was butters, b.

DaBaby’s really all over the place these days and getting that well earned gangsta love wherever he goes.

This time around the North Carolina representative finds himself in Las Vegas for Plie’s visuals to “Boss Friends,” where they flaunt stacks of cash, mini-bikes, and get an appearance from Floyd “Money” Mayweather. He basically just popped his head out the car to dap up Plies but you know they had to use that footage off of GP.

Speaking of Sin City, Stunna 4 Vegas shows and proves he doesn’t need to leave the block to floss and shine as he links up with Offset in his hood to burn it down and flaunt some ice in his clip to “Up The Smoke.”

It’s Halloween and while it’s really something for the kids to enjoy you know the adults have found a way to have their own fun with grown up candy juice and sexy costumes. Young Dolph is no exception.

For his new All Hallows Eve themed visuals to “Tric or Treat,” the Memphis gets into the witches holiday spirit and decorates his big boy ride with orange rims and lit up pumpkins. Them rims was kinda hard, b.

Though LA street culture consists of Black and Latino influences, we rarely get Black and Latino collaborations in Hip-Hop music, but today Wiz Khalifa’s artist, Berner, links up with his boss and LA triple OG, Snoop Dogg for his latest RZA produced cut.

In his Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dogg assisted visuals to “La Plaza” the Mexican-American rapper rides shotgun with Wiz through the night while some of his chicano brethren make money moves under the racial-profiling eye of the law.

Sleepy Rose meanwhile gives conservative second amendment right supporters something to think about as he demonstrates a deep collection of automatic weapons and shows he and his crew knows how to use them in his 2 Chainz, Worl and Hot LockedN assisted clip to “Shoot It Out.”

For their visuals to “Down Bad,” J. Cole, J.I.D, Bas, EarthGang, and Young Nudy take to the streets of Atlanta where they roll in a drop top convertible before taking off in a private jet onto their next destination.

And fresh off a rap battle with Shaq-Fu, Dame D.O.L.L.A. kicks off NBA opening night with a new black-and-white clip for his Jeremih assisted “Money Ball” where the all-star guard makes a good case for the best rapping NBA player to have lived (sorry, Shaq).

It’s been a minute since Jadakiss signed with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation and while he hasn’t unveiled an album under the new umbrella, he just released a new single, “ME,” and released a short film in support of it.

Naturally, things go way left and well, Jay-To-The-Muah learned who was truly loyal in the end.

Aside from popping up at Tekashi 6nitch9ine’s singing performance in federal court a few weeks back, Troy Ave’s been keeping a low profile for the most part but today the Brooklyn rapper comes out of the shadows for his latest video.

In his visuals for “So True,” the artist known to himself as Nupac spends some quality time with a tatted up Becky with the blond hair who probably doesn’t understand the reference whenever Troy refers to himself as Nupac. We just playing, y’all. She really does look like she was born after Pac was killed though so who knows if she’s familiar with the Hip-Hop icon like that.

From the East to the South, Fast Cash links up with Boosie Badazz for a wild jailbreak in broad daylight and makes his way to the spot to turn up with his peoples in the club to “Drought.”

It’s been a few weeks since Kevin Gates dropped his sophomore album I’M HIM and while it didn’t quite make the splash that his debut project did, it’s still resonating with his true-blue fans who are all about the N’awlins rapper.

For the visuals to his album cut “Walls Talking,” Gates finds himself in his house where different rooms represent different aspects of his life. From his mama stressing in the kitchen to his homies playing cards in a side room, KG’s crib offers little sanctuary from his reality.

In another side of town EARTHGANG get their sci-fi on and mash-up elements of Men In Black and Night at the Museum much to the amusement of a young student left behind by his group in the clip to “Up.”

Today Don Cartegena and Cardi B team up in the Annuel AA assisted visuals for “Yes” where they make use of a big budget soundstage and give us a glimpse of what a futuristic strip club might look like. Half-naked women twerking and working on floating single platforms and private rooms that look like you’re stuck in the matrix. Can’t wait for this to become the norm.

While Dave East fans enjoy his portrayal of M-E-T-H-O-D Man on Hulu’s Wu-Tang: An American Saga series, the man doesn’t plan on abandoning his rap career anytime soon and comes through with some new work for his day one followers.

Picking up where his last video left off, Dave East’s visual for the Jacquees assisted “Alone” finds him spreading the wealth from the jux he pulled and blessing everyone from his wifey to the old lady on the block with stacks of cash. Robbin’ Hood status, for real for real.

Alicia Keys

Source: photo: WENN

Don’t look now, Iman Shumpert, but your wife is in bed with the King of The South! Of course this is just part of the cinematic visuals to T.I.’s latest Teyana Taylor featured joint “You (Be There).” Starting off with a quote from the election stealing Governor Brian Kemp in which he stated that ATL has become a haven human trafficking, the Spike Tee production finds T.I. and TT as gun-toting vigilantes who take down sex slave traffickers on some ATLien Avengers ish!

From ride or die to soft and sweet, Alicia Keys makes her long awaited return as she and Miguel brave the rainy weather in the star-studded slow motion Matrix-ish visual to “Show Me Love.” Love hurts, b.

Rick Ross ft. Drake “Gold Roses,” Swae Lee “Sextasy” & More | Daily Visuals 9.12.19

Rick Ross’ Port of Miami 2 is already a few weeks old but the Bawse of The South takes no breathers and for his latest visual picks one of the album’s standout cuts which features the much revered King of The North.

For his latest clip to the Drake featured “Gold Roses,” Ricky Rozay roams through the rooms and halls of an elegant mansion which features some aphrodisiac-ish lighting that can make night-time sexy time regardless of who your date is. Seriously, that kind of lighting is the stuff playboys install in their crib for real.

Speaking of playboys, Swae Lee continues to enjoy the solo life in his clip to “Sextasy” in which he woos a young Latina with champagne on a boat ride… in a pool. Kinda surprised no one’s ever thought to do that in their video. Props, young man.

LOUD Records 25th Anniversary Concert To Feature Wu-Tang Clan, Three 6 Mafia & More

10th Annual ONE Musicfest

Source: Paras Griffin / Getty

Though Def Jam, Death Row and Bad Boy were considered the 90’s biggest and baddest Hip-Hop record labels, real heads know that LOUD Records was responsible for dropping just as much classic material (if not more) as the aforementioned companies. To celebrate its 25th Anniversary, LOUD Records will be throwing a OG star-studded concert on October 11 at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ dubbed LOUD Twenty-Five.

Wu-Tang Clan, Mobb Deep, Big Pun, and Xzibit are just a few names that the house that Steve Rifkind and Rich Issacson built. They helped push the rap game forward and the sounds that they created still reverberate in the culture to this day.

Slated to feature performances from LOUD alumni such as the Wu-Tang Clan, Three 6 Mafia, Mobb Deep (R.I.P. Prodigy), dead prez, Pete Rock, and a Big Pun tribute courtesy of Fat Joe and Remy Ma, the concert event is poised to become a night to remember for the heads who lived Hip-Hop’s golden era.

Steve Rifkind perfectly summed up why this concert means so much to him.

“This celebration means the world to me,” said Rifkind via a press statement. “LOUD was born out of a love for hip hop and a childhood fantasy. To see it grow into one of the most iconic and storied hip hop labels in history and having the opportunity to celebrate with our amazing artists 25 years later leaves me speechless about our journey.”

Get tickets to the OG Hip-Hop concert of 2019 at Ticketmaster and let us know if you’re looking forward to partying like it’s nineteen ninety-something once again come October 11.

This past summer Lonzo Ball’s favorite rapper, Future has been going hard dropping visuals whether they be his own or he’s popping up in someone else’s and today he continues his grind going into the Fall by linking up with Lil Baby.

Collaborating for the clip to “Out The Mud,” Lil Baby and Future hold it down on the block with the neighborhood locals where they highlight different aspects of the struggle including police harassment and counting every last penny in the pocket. That’s real.

From the struggle to the good life, Dom Kennedy throws a get together at a big boy mansion where The Game, Jay 305 and MoeRoy kick it with a gang of honeys in the visual for “Pharaohs.”

Future

Source: Bernard Smalls / @PhotosByBeanz

Mustard might’ve dropped the “DJ” from his name but that doesn’t change the fact that the Grammy Award winning continues to grind like a disc jockey looking for that big break.

Today the LA representative links up with Future in the visuals for “Interstate 10” where they hatch a plan to pull off a bank heist only to show their faces and catch more enough bodies to spend the next few lifetimes behind bars. Wasn’t even no Popeyes Chicken Sandwiches to be had, b.

On the R&B tip we have Next Town Down bringing back some 90’s-ish flavor with the style and melody in the 6LACK assisted clip to “Easy.”

The Queensbridge King returns! Having recently released his long overdue The Lost Tapes 2, Nas Escobar finally comes back with some new visuals a month after the release of his latest project.
For his lavish visuals to “No Bad Energy,” God’s Son shows how far he’s come from the rugged streets of QB as he sits atop a silky white piano in a big boy mansion where he’s awaiting the arrival of a scantly dressed exotic woman. Nas went from a “New York State of Mind” to living the best of lives.

Zadig & Voltaire Hooks Up With Kate Moss for Handbag Line and More

Zadig & Voltaire knows the power of friends.
The Paris-based brand revealed exclusively to WWD the launch of a handbag collection, Zadig & Voltaire x Kate Moss, bowing Sept. 26, a day after the label’s runway show at the Ritz in Paris. (The location was chosen because it was one of the supermodel’s haunts.)
“The primary reason for partnering with Kate was to work with her creatively on developing a new line of handbags. And so this is what they’ve done,” said Christopher Tate, chief executive officer of Zadig & Voltaire, North America, and a board member at the company. “[Cecilia and Kate] were models around the same time and sort of grew up in the industry together, so it’s not a new relationship. This is the first time they’re working together at Zadig & Voltaire in the context of collaborating on products.”
“She was a customer of Zadig & Voltaire — her daughter loves our T-shirts, and we had some friends in common, so we were linked. But then, she’s such a superstar, it’s not like I’m going to hang out with her everyday,” said creative director Cecilia Bönström. “I admired from afar. But then, she’s been a busy girl, you know.

Dilated Peoples and Little Brother Perform At S.O.B.'s

Source: Ray Tamarra / Getty

Even before Common became the example of how a man is supposed to go about life and the obstacles it brings, he was still dropping gems in his records about what it takes to face the trials and tribulations that we’re sure to go through as we grow. Needless to say he’s only gotten better at it throughout the years.

In his Jill Scott and Samora Pinderhighes assisted clip to “Show Me That You Love,” the Hip-Hop OG highlights the moments spent with his daughter (or lack thereof) and how it helped him take a more active role in her life. Lesson!

Keeping with the theme of Hip-Hop OG’s, Little Brother makes their long awaited return to the game and in their retro visual to “Black Magic (Make It Better)” take to Black Wall Street in Durham, NC to rock a crowd that’s been waiting for this vibe to groove to for years.

We’re not sure why Future’s been featuring slim light-skinned models in his videos lately but they’re steadily becoming a primary feature in his visual work.

That continues to be the case in his latest clip to the Meek Mill and Doe Boy assisted “100 Shooters” where Future and company keep things hot and gritty with lit up motorcycles (literally on fire) and still models who don’t even bop to the beat. Just stare into the camera. It’s creepy sexiness.

Elsewhere G-Eazy and Tyga ball outta control on the basketball court where the cheerleaders shake their pom-poms and rumps for their team in their clip to “Bang.”

Are we the only ones who miss seeing Maino walk around in his videos with a gold crown on his head? We know the young king doesn’t need a piece of gold on his head to prove he’s royalty but regardless that’s neither here nor there.

Whether it’s a good woman, ride or die chick, or gangsta b*tch, you gotta appreciate what a woman who has your back brings to the table. For her part Summerella does her own thing and she ain’t afraid to let y’all know what y’all missing.

In her visuals for “Pretty B*tches In The Trap,” the songstress takes it to the block where she stunts in colorful outfits while Gucci Mane, Trouble and Tokyo Jetz swing through to show her love off the strength.

Speaking of colorful getups, Doja Cat finds herself in numerous fruit inspired garments which seem to highlight her physical degree something kinky in her Tyga assisted clip to “Juicy.”

YBN Cordae “Broke As F*ck,” Chris Rivers ft. Oswin Benjamin “N.A.S.A.” & More | Daily Visuals 8.16.19

92.3 Real Street Festival

While most of older Hip-Hop heads refer to this generation as the “mumble rap” era, YBN Cordae is one of the few that seems to get daps for his impressive flows and rap content.

Continuing to build his reputation for being a microphone gripper for real, YBN Cordae comes through with a new clip for “Broke As F*ck” where he and his crew bike around town looking to five finger discount whatever they can in whichever convenience store they visit. Free things are just better sometimes.

Speaking of impressive flows and rap content, Chris Rivers continues to prove that the rap lineage he inherited from his rap legend of a father, Big Pun, runs strong in him as he crash lands in the wrong place in his Oswin Benjamin assisted clip to “N.A.S.A.”

Check out the rest of today’s drops including work from Blac Youngsta, Rod Wave, and more.
