Lil Wayne Claims Cash Money Owes Money To Drake, Nicki Minaj & Tyga

(AllHipHop News) The legal saga between Lil Wayne and Birdman’s Cash Money Records takes another turn. Wayne has reportedly filed new legal documents suggesting his longtime label also owes Young Money artists Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Tyga money.

TMZ reports:

Lil Wayne now claims in his bitter lawsuit against Birdman and Cash Money, he has letters from Drake and Tyga’s people claiming they got stiffed out of a fortune. And Nicki’s people say in a separate letter her producers also got shortchanged by Young Money, and Wayne says it’s Cash Money’s responsibility to pay producers.

Earlier this year, Wayne sued Cash Money for unpaid royalties and album advances. Wayne’s Young Money imprint was named as a plaintiff in the case as well. YM wants CMR to pay for the cost of legal actions from artists asserting they are owed money by the company.

According to the original documents, a “2009 Drake Letter Amendment” was agreed upon to give YM one-third of the net profits from the sale of Drake’s solo recordings. The suit also revealed Wayne and Cash Money agreed to a 51%-49% split over Wayne’s Young Money imprint.

Wayne has publicly demanded to be let out of his contract with Cash Money. Young Money’s Tyga has also been vocal about not receiving payments from Birdman’s company. In addition, other individuals in the industry such as TurkBangladeshJas Prince, and Wendy Day have filed lawsuits against CMR for unpaid services.

According to TMZ, Cash Money argues Wayne and Young Money are the ones in breach of contract. The label claims YM was supposed to produce 21 albums over 7 years and only 13 projects were released.

If Wayne and Young Money are able to split from CMR, Birdman has made it clear he will not let platinum-selling acts Drake and Nicki Minaj go with Weezy so easily. The two stars reportedly have distribution deals with Cash Money, and in 2013 Birdman told DJ Whoo Kid, “Drake down with the team for life. He made that commitment when we did another situation.”

Tyga Owes State Of California $20 G’s

Tyga and his California lifestyle is going to be death of his bank account.

The State of California recently glanced at their records and have learned that Michael Ray Nguyen-Stevenson has been skimming out on his residential taxes.

Reports TMZ:

Tyga is getting hit from every angle on the money front.

Kylie’s BF just got slapped with a tax lien from the State of California to the tune of $ 19,124.98. He allegedly shorted the Golden State on his 2009, 2010 and 2011 tax bills.

$ 20k would ordinarily be chump change for a rapper at his level, but he already owes his landlord $ 70k in back rent, and has lawsuits piling up.

It’s also not the first time Uncle Sam has come after Tyga … the feds hit Tyga last year with a $ 100k delinquent bill.

Things could be worse, but he’s dating Kylie so he’s got collateral.

Oh, what a time to be alive.

50 Cent’s List Of Creditors Revealed, Rapper Owes $26 Million

(AllHipHop News) 50 Cent filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy does not mean the Hip Hop mogul is broke, but he does owe a lot of money to several different parties. TMZ has gained access to the list of 50’s creditors that was given to the bankruptcy judge.

According to court documents, the G-Unit boss owes $ 137,880 to Bentley, $ 64,909 to American Express, $ 1,737 to his own grandfather, and others. 50 is also on the hook for a total of $ 23 million from two separate lawsuits. He lost a nearly $ 17 million suit to Sleek Audio in 2014, and a jury recently awarded $ 5 million to Lastonia Leviston after she sued 50 for releasing a sex tape of her online.

“I think we’re very clear in our papers that he’s engaged in numerous tactics to delay the eventual entry of a judgment in the state court litigation,” Elizabeth Austin, Leviston’s attorney, told The Washington Post. “We believe this bankruptcy is yet another one of those tactics.”

While the legal situations play out, the public should understand exactly where 50 stands financially. Forbes calculated 50 Cent’s net worth to be close to $ 155 million. California bankruptcy attorney Mark Markus explained to Mashable why 50’s bankruptcy filings does not equal him hurting for money.

“In Chapter 11 in particular, one usually has many assets — in fact, Chapter 11 is used to protect those assets while repaying creditors what they would get if the assets were liquidated,” said Markus. “So those who file Chapter 11 are definitely not broke.”

Portis Pockets Straight? Former NFL Star Clinton Portis Owes IRS, Casino

Former NFL standout running back Clinton Portis once made an infamous quip on sports radio in 2008 of “Portis pockets straight,” which would be a hilarious meme in today’s world. Yet things aren’t so straight for Portis nor his pockets after reports came out that the former Washington Professional Football Team star owes money to the IRS, a casino and a host of other creditors.

Portis, a two-time Pro Bowl selectee and University of Miami player, is being sought by the IRS, the MGM Grand Casino in Las Vegas, an auto dealer, and a mortgage company among others. The documents, uncovered by the University of Florida’s student newspaper, lists out a bevy of debt faced by Portis which includes home and car payments.

From The Independent Florida Alligator:

The Internal Revenue Service says former Washington Redskins star and Gainesville native Clinton Portis failed to pay more than $ 450,000 in federal income taxes.

According to documents, Portis failed to pay $ 401,432.18 in individual income taxes in 2006, when Portis was in his third season with the Redskins. He also failed to pay $ 57,187.61 in individual income taxes in 2010, according to the documents.

Portis also owes $ 287,178.56 to the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas from May 2015, according to court testimony obtained by the Alligator. The former Gainesville High standout lists two properties in Gainesville.

Much of Portis’ trouble began in August 2014 after he faced foreclosure on one of his Florida homes. The Alligator reports that attempts from a private investigator to serve Portis papers yielded no results as he couldn’t be found.
