FROM THE CURRENT KING OF THE VIOLENT, SEXY, HARD-HITTING WESTERN The Classic Sheriff Ben Stillman Series Begins… Playing poker, smoking cigarettes, drinking whiskey—retirement was treacherous business for ex-lawman Ben Stillman. The best of life seemed to be past, but then the past came looking for him… The son of an old friend rides into Ben's life with a plea for justice and a mind for revenge. Up on the Hi-Line in Montana, a rich Englishman is rustling ranchers out of their livelihoods… and their lives. The boy suspects these rustlers have murdered his father, Milk River Bill Harmon, and the law is too crooked to get any straight answers. Lying for love is never easy, but sometimes it's necessary. The Ackermans are about to lose their farm… They have no hope. No money. Nothing left to lose except each other. When Sarah discovers that her youngest sister, Carrie, is planning to become a mail order bride to save the family land, she makes the rash decision to take her place. When Sarah arrives in Montana and meets John Bowman, she knows him and his children aren't ready for her… especially when they learn about her scarred useless arm. And… John hasn't even told his children he's getting remarried. John's temper is hard to control but not as hard Sarah's brazen behavior. She's a mail order bride, yet she acts as if she has free reign of his house. Sarah never expected to fall in love…not as a mail order bride. It was just a contract. Nothing more. However, there's something about John that draws Sarah to him. But… if she tells John the truth , she'll lose him forever. And… if she says nothing, she'll never be able to live with herself. Can Sarah fix this mess and still save her family's farm, or is it already too late?

In writing THE PLAYBOY OF THE WESTERN WORLD, as in my other plays, I have used one or two words only that I have not heard among the country people of Ireland, or spoken in my own nursery before I could read the newspapers. A certain number of the phrases I employ I have heard also from herds and fishermen along the coast from Kerry to Mayo, or from beggar-women and ballad-singers nearer Dublin; and I am glad to acknowledge how much I owe to the folk imagination of these fine people. Anyone who has lived in real intimacy with the Irish peasantry will know that the wildest sayings and ideas in this play are tame indeed, compared with the fancies one may hear in any little hillside cabin in Geesala, or Carraroe, or Dingle Bay. All art is a collaboration; and there is little doubt that in the happy ages of literature, striking and beautiful phrases were as ready to the story-teller’s or the playwright’s hand, as the rich cloaks and dresses of his time. It is probable that when the Elizabethan dramatist took his ink-horn and sat down to his work he used many phrases that he had just heard, as he sat at dinner, from his mother or his children. In Ireland, those of us who know the people have the same privilege. When I was writing “The Shadow of the Glen,” some years ago, I got more aid than any learning could have given me from a chink in the floor of the old Wicklow house where I was staying, that let me hear what was being said by the servant girls in the kitchen. This matter, I think, is of importance, for in countries where the imagination of the people, and the language they use, is rich and living, it is possible for a writer to be rich and copious in his words, and at the same time to give the reality, which is the root of all poetry, in a comprehensive and natural form. In the modern literature of towns, however, richness is found only in sonnets, or prose poems, or in one or two elaborate books that are far away from the profound and common interests of life. One has, on one side, Mallarme and Huysmans producing this literature; and on the other, Ibsen and Zola dealing with the reality of life in joyless and pallid words. On the stage one must have reality, and one must have joy; and that is why the intellectual modern drama has failed, and people have grown sick of the false joy of the musical comedy, that has been given them in place of the rich joy found only in what is superb and wild in reality. In a good play every speech should be as fully flavoured as a nut or apple, and such speeches cannot be written by anyone who works among people who have shut their lips on poetry. In Ireland, for a few years more, we have a popular imagination that is fiery and magnificent, and tender; so that those of us who wish to write start with a chance that is not given to writers in places where the springtime of the local life has been forgotten, and the harvest is a memory only, and the straw has been turned into bricks. A classic Western shirt can be the perfect option for brunch or bar-hopping. But if you’re not careful, you can come off looking like a rodeo clown—or a reject from Hee Haw. The secret to pulling this look off is in both the particular Western shirt you choose as well as what you wear it with. Take a modern version and wear it the same way you’d wear a flannel or any other fall shirting option: with chinos, jeans, and your favorite pair of boots.

Mobb Deep Remixing “Survival Of The Fittest” For 2015 NBA Western Conference Finals

Mobb Deep’s honorary classic debut, The Infamous, turned 20-years-old last month and while the bone-chilling “Shook Ones Pt. II” has hogged all the credit these past two decades, there are plenty of other unforgettable records on the album.

NBA Countdown–co-hosted by unflinching Hip-Hop fan Jalen Rose–recognizes this and they have recruited The Mobb to remix song #3 in “Survival of the Fittest” for the upcoming 2015 NBA Western Conference Finals.

Reports ESPN:

Legendary hip-hop group Mobb Deep and ESPN have teamed up to create a special production open for NBA Countdown – ESPN’s NBA pre-game studio show – to debut during pre-game coverage of the 2015 NBA Western Conference Finals, exclusively on ESPN. Mobb Deep will lend a customized NBA remix of their classic track Survival Of The Fittest (1995) to NBA Countdown.

Mobb Deep:

“It is absolutely incredible that, on the 20th Anniversary of the recording of Survival Of The Fittest, the meaning of the song is as relevant as ever” says Prodigy. “We would like to thank ESPN for choosing our record and for making it the anthem of one of the most important U.S. sports events of the year” adds Havoc. “We were absolutely excited to deliver a remix version of this classic and a visual to accompany the opening of NBA Countdown.”

“When worst come to worst, my people’s come first.” Truer words have never been spoken Havoc. Get a dose of nostalgia with the “Survival of the Fittest” video down below and keep an eye out for that remix.
